Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel Gingerbread House is Now Complete for Holidays 2024

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is all decked out for the holidays and that includes the unique gingerbread house in the lobby!

This year’s gingerbread display captures the holiday spirit with its intricate details. Inspired by the hotel’s architecture, the display features white-iced rooftops, peppermint accents, and stained glass windows. A cozy fireplace, adorned with stockings, adds to the festive atmosphere.

Chip and Dale are featured this year in the pajama outfits they wear at the new character breakfast at Storytellers Cafe. At Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party Breakfast and Brunch Dale wears a red plaid onesie while Chip wears a green plaid onesie just like in the gingerbread display. Both also have reindeer antlers on their heads like at the character meal, but on the display they are enjoying a snowball fight.

There is even a sign on the gingerbread house that reads, “Snowball fight! Back in 5 (ish)” and signed by Dale. The details and the culinary talent put into creating this display are absolutely amazing.

Each year there is a path leading to the house that looks to be made of some kind of baked good. In previous years chocolate chip cookies have led the way but this year it’s cinnamon rolls! There’s even a hidden Mickey amongst the treats.

A sign near the “Grand” Gingerbread House reveals its impressive dimensions: 7 feet tall and 12 feet wide. This holiday treat is crafted from 600 pounds of gingerbread, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 250 pounds of fondant, 1,152 eggs, and a touch of glitter. As an added challenge, 25 hidden Mickeys are scattered throughout the display.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass Sells Out for Multiple Thanksgiving Week Dates at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass, a premium service offering expedited access to all Lightning Lane attractions, has sold out for several days during Thanksgiving week at Magic Kingdom. This marks a growing trend of high demand for the service, despite its premium price point.

The first sellout occurred on Monday, November 25th, for both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, also sold out quickly, with the Premier Pass reaching its highest price yet at Magic Kingdom – $449.

As of today, the following dates are sold out for Magic Kingdom:

Downtown Disney Decorated for the Holidays 2024

The Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort is all decked out for the holiday season!

The promenade is transformed into a winter wonderland, adorned with a dazzling array of brightly decorated trees. The trees, adorned with shimmering snowflakes, ornaments, and icicles, are displayed in planters alongside larger-than-life glittering presents and colorful Christmas nutcrackers. The festive decorations create a magical atmosphere, perfect for the holiday season.

In spite of the ongoing construction and renovations in Downtown Disney, the decorations are just as magical as ever!

There’s even a snowman waving happily from a planter that’s decked out with snowflakes and lights.

And we can’t forget about the giant Christmas tree that greets guests as they enter the shopping district from the west entrance. Blue and silver ornaments, snowflakes, and lights adorn the tree while large wrapped gifts surround the bottom.

A new scavenger hunt has debuted at the Disneyland Resort! Chip & Dale’s Ornament Trail takes guests on a festive hunt through Downtown Disney.

Hunt for ornaments along the all-new Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail in the Downtown Disney District from November 22, 2024 through January 1, 2025—and help the mischievous duo decorate their holiday tree. Plus, take home a holiday keepsake!

How to Join the Scavenger Hunt

Pick up your map and stickers for $9.99 plus tax at select merchandise locations in the Downtown Disney District and Hotels of the Disneyland Resort.
Search for special Disney character-themed ornaments hidden on holiday trees throughout the Downtown Disney District.
Once you spot an ornament, place the corresponding sticker on your map.
Whether you choose to search for ornaments or not, return your map to a redemption location and receive a holiday keepsake.

Once you complete the hunt, you can redeem your map for one of four special holiday ornaments! You can choose from Mickey, Minnie, Chip, and Dale.

The ornaments you are hunting for aren’t too difficult to find. There are 12 in all and each one is a different Disney character. They are pretty big and stand out from the other ornaments and decorations on the trees.

In the lobby area of the Walt Disney Presents movie theater, guests can find exciting artwork for the upcoming film, “Moana 2.” A large poster featuring the main characters, Moana and Maui, dominates one wall. The film follows Moana as she assembles a crew and reunites with Maui to embark on a thrilling adventure to break a curse.

The exhibit showcases 3D maquettes of Moana and Maui, the beloved characters voiced by Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, respectively. These detailed models serve as valuable reference tools for animators. Alongside the maquettes, concept art adorns the wall, offering a glimpse into the visual style of the film. One particularly striking piece depicts Moana and Maui in the style of Maui’s intricate tattoos.
