All-New Power Rangers Series in Development for Disney+

“Percy Jackson” Showrunners to Develop New “Power Rangers” Series for Disney+

Disney+ and 20th Century TV have tapped Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, the showrunners behind “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” to develop a new live-action “Power Rangers” series, according to reports from TheWrap.

Steinberg and Shotz are in discussions to write, showrun, and produce the series, which will be produced by Hasbro, the current rights holder of the “Power Rangers” franchise. Hasbro acquired the property in 2018.

The “Power Rangers” franchise, which originated with “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” in 1993, has a long history of television adaptations from Japan’s “Super Sentai.” The most recent series, “Power Rangers Cosmic Fury,” aired in 2023. The franchise has also seen several film adaptations, including a 2017 reboot that was ultimately unsuccessful.

Hasbro Entertainment is currently developing various film and television projects based on its extensive intellectual property portfolio, including titles such as “Clue,” “Dungeons & Dragons,” “Magic: The Gathering,” “Trivial Pursuit,” and “Scrabble.”

Steinberg and Shotz’s involvement in the “Power Rangers” series follows their successful collaboration on Disney+’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” which Steinberg co-created with author Rick Riordan. The duo also co-showruns the series, which recently received a third-season renewal, with the second season set to premiere this December. Additionally, they co-created and executive produced FX’s “The Old Man,” produced by Disney’s 20th Television. They are represented by WME.

Above the castle, a delightful array of Disney characters take flight, including Carl’s house from “Up,” Buzz and Woody, Tinker Bell, Aladdin and Jasmine, Dumbo, and Baymax.

This popcorn bucket comes to life with vibrant light features, illuminating in green, yellow, purple, and blue. The sky backdrop showcases pink rays and shimmering pixie dust, adding to the magical ambiance. A strap, adorned with character silhouettes matching those on the bucket’s front, is included. A gold plate beneath the castle provides an inscription, reading:

“Snow White” is instead tracking closer to 2019’s “Dumbo,” which opened with $45 million but ultimately underperformed, generating a disappointing $353 million worldwide against a $170 million budget. With “Snow White” carrying a hefty production cost of over $250 million (excluding marketing expenses), Disney is hoping for a longer, more sustained run in theaters, similar to last December’s “Mufasa.” That “Lion King” prequel started slow but ultimately soared to impressive global figures.

The arrival of the 2025 Easter season at Walt Disney World has brought with it a feast for the eyes, particularly at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The resort’s elegant lobby has transformed into an art gallery of confectionery creations, showcasing 19 intricately designed chocolate egg showpieces crafted by the resort’s talented culinary Cast Members.

These edible works of art, strategically placed around The Grand Cottage, the resort’s Easter treat kiosk, are a testament to the skill and creativity of the Disney team. Each egg, meticulously crafted from a staggering 340 pounds of chocolate, 22 pounds of fondant, and 15 colors of cocoa butter, also cleverly incorporates a hidden Mickey, adding a touch of Disney magic to each display.

While some eggs were accompanied by cards detailing the creator and inspiration, a few were initially missing, adding an element of mystery to the exhibit. Here’s a glimpse into some of the breathtaking creations:

Anxiety – “Inside Out 2”: Created by Fabi, this grand display captures the nervous energy of Anxiety from “Inside Out 2,” with the character standing amidst a sea of memory eggs.

“One Hundred and One Dalmatians”: Monica’s creation features Cruella de Vil’s iconic scowl, London street scenes, and playful dalmatian puppies, with a hidden scene of Roger at his piano.

“Beauty and the Beast”: This rotating egg showcases Belle and the Beast, with the Enchanted Rose nestled within.

Madame Leota – The Haunted Mansion: Joann’s elegant white egg houses a sculpted Madame Leota, bathed in an eerie blue light.

Expedition Everest: Mary Rose’s design pays homage to the thrilling Animal Kingdom attraction, complete with the lift hill, a Yeti silhouette, and intricate details of the ride’s signage.

Walt Disney Animation Studios Characters & Pixar Animation Studios Characters: Two eggs are covered in a mosaic of various Disney and Pixar characters.
