Living with the Land Removes Crocs While Crocodile Jokes Return to Jungle Cruise

Living with the Land

Living with the Land

Jokes about the crocodiles are back in the in repertoire of the Jungle Cruise Skippers according to a report by my Disney websites.

The jokes were taken out of the line up recently for the skippers on both the Disneyland and Disney World Jungle Cruise rides in the wake of the recent tragic event involving a two year old boy who was drown by an alligator near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. It appears that the jokes about Old Smiley and Ginger are back in the skippers’ spiel, but guests will no longer hear jokes about crocodiles watching your children.

Elsewhere however the crocodiles in Epcot’s Living with the Land attraction were quietly removed a few days ago. There’s no word on why exactly they were removed, but this has increased speculation that Disney would be removing multiple crocodiles from several different rides and attractions. The mechanics that were underneath them are still there, however; so they may have just been removed for normal maintenance on the audio animatronics.

At this point only time will tell.

All-New Coca Cola Store in Disney Springs is a must do!

Coca Cola Store

Coca Cola Store

The all-new Coca-Cola Store opened at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs on July 2nd.  It is located near the Orange Parking Garage, and directly across from Planet Hollywood, which is undergoing a major refurbishment, in the Town Center section of Disney Springs. The store features three levels; each offering something different.

As you enter the store, you will immediately be awestruck by the one-of-a-kind chandelier taking center-stage on Level One.  The chandelier is made from repurposed blown-glass Coca-Cola bottles and is 30 feet wide.  Level One offers Coca-Cola branded clothing such as scented t-shirts, baseball caps, flip-flops, sweatshirts and pajamas.  This level also features hand-crafted purses and bags made from recycled materials like pop-tabs from Coca Cola cans for example.

Level Two has a strong merchandise focus on everything for your kitchen.  Here you will find Coca-Cola branded dishes, mugs, salt and pepper shakers, kitchen towels, and glassware to name a few.  You will also find pins and decorative bottles displaying the slogan, “Orlando Ice Cold Sunshine.”  A very catchy phrase for visitors and locals alike.

Level Three is an open-air deck that overlooks much of the Disney Springs area.  From this vantage point you can see the top of Cirque du Soleil, the Characters in Flight air balloon floating over Lake Buena Vista, Planet Hollywood, and the tunnel walkway leading into the central area of Disney Springs Town Center.  The main feature of Level Three is the rooftop beverage bar and seating area.  While the beverage bar does not serve food, it does serve fun tastings and a plenitude of Coca-Cola beverage combinations.  If you are looking to try something new then order the tasting trays.  Here you will find some old favorites, such as the ever-popular Beverly from Italy, and likely discover some new favorites such as the Sunfill Mint from Djibouti, of Bon Bon Anglais from Madagascar.  The beverage bar will also feature specialty adult drinks in the evenings.  There is a good amount of tables and chairs for sitting after you have placed, and received, your order.  If you are unable to find seating there is a glass bar that surrounds the perimeter of the third level offering plenty of space to set your drink down and take in the sights.

Be sure to take a stroll up along the interior three-story cement walkway.  Here you will be able to take in the sights of the surrounding Disney Springs areas as you wind around, and up, the glass-enclosed areas of the walkway.  There is also an elevator conveniently located at each level.

The Coca-Cola Polar Bear will be available on-site for photo-ops beginning sometime in August 2016.

The Coca-Cola store offers fashion, flair and flavor.  It presents a bit of whimsy and nostalgia with a modern twist. From the chandelier and the merchandise, to the vibrant colors of the tastings and the surrounding views from the rooftop deck, this location is a must-see on your next visit to Disney Springs.

What are you most excited about seeing, or trying, at the Coca-Cola store on your next visit to Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort?  Leave your comments in the box below.

Disney Springs is like an amusement park of food!

Add Magic to Your Home with a Wooden Disney Family Sign

Wooden Disney Family Sign

I love Disney art work, and I love Family signs, so you know I was in love with the newest Design from WoobiesCorner on Etsy. This rustic Disney take on a wooden family sign is absolutely gorgeous.

The designer makes this Custom family plaque using thick and sturdy pieces of wood. Each piece has been hand decorated for you using pyrography (wood burning) for the entire design. Acrylic paint is also used to decorate the border. The wood is then sealed with a coat of high quality finish to make your decor last a lifetime. I have one of this designer’s more popular pieces of work the Disney House Rules sign. The Wooden Disney Family Sign is a great extension of the Disney house rules, so many of us also love.

You can check out this and other designs below:

Since the designer loves our fans so much she’s also given us a promo code for you to use! You can use CHIP10 to save 10% off your purchase! Would you add this Disney Family addition to your home?

Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok Begins Filming

Thor Ragnarok

On July 4th filming officially began for Marvel Studio’s “Thor: Ragnarok”, the third Thor movie. Although no plot has been released yet, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has said that “Thor: Ragnarok” will be crucial to the plot of the two-part “Avengers: Infinity War” film.

The film has much of its cast returning, including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Jamie Alexander (Sif), and Anthony Hopkins (Odin). Mark Ruffalo will make an appearance as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, along with new cast members Cate Blanchette (the villain Hela), Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster), Tessa Thomson (Valkyrie), and Karl Urban (Skurge).

“Thor: Ragnarok” is currently being filmed in Australia (as opposed to the usual North America and UK filming locations of Marvel films). Another interesting observation is from Chris Hemsworth’s Instagram, where he is seen on set but with short hair (which people are speculating plays into the actual movie):

“Thor: Ragnarok” and is set to be released November 3, 2017.

Disney Junior Responds to Doc McStuffins Cancellation Rumors

Doc McStuffins Adoptiondocmcstuffins

Yesterday, as rumors of “Doc McStuffins” being cancelled and not returning for a fifth season grew rapidly, the hashtag #renewDocMcStuffins” spread like wildfire. Even celebs like Zendaya and comedian W. Kamau Bell were rallying for the Disney Junior show to stay on!

The creator and executive producer of the show Chris Nee said in response to all Doc McStuffins love that had gone viral:

“I am always looking for ways to shine a light on people who don’t get to see themselves represented on TV. I think it’s one of the most powerful things we have in working in especially preschool television. Unfortunately – like everyone else – we [African American population] really lag in our representation of people who are in the mainstream.”

Disney Junior took to Twitter to respond to the concern of the show possibly being cancelled:

Nee is encouraging fans that they can watch Season 4 on Netflix to keep the love for Doc McStuffins alive, and to increase the chances of Disney Junior to renew the show for a fifth season.

New Popcorn Flavors Coming to Main Street Popcorn Company

sieru2342

There’s nothing like grabbing a bag of popcorn at the Main Street Confectionary on Main Street in Walt Disney World (you can also  get the popcorn at Disneyland as well). In fact, my family prefers the rainbow (confetti) kind, and we grab a bag every trip! If you’re like us, then you’ll be excited to hear that Disney has added some new flavors to the popcorn lineup.

lsdjr2341

Don’t worry about losing your favorite flavor with the new additions,  because guests will continue finding traditional popcorn flavors such as caramel, kettle corn, cheddar or confetti. The new popcorn flavors include Sriracha kettle corn, parmesan garlic, kettle corn with red alaea salt, truffle, churro and maple bacon.

Along with the new flavors, the Main Street Popcorn Company even got a facelift, with updated artwork!

klsjerh23r42

A spokesperson with Disney has said:

“Overall, the most popular new flavor is maple bacon. At Disneyland Resort, guests love the churro-flavored popcorn. Sweet flavors continue to be extremely popular in the marketplace. We’ve also seen an increase of savory flavors in the market, so we added some options like Sriracha kettle corn.”

The Main Street Popcorn Company line is carried in select merchandise locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

Which new flavor are you going to try?
