Aquatica Orlando’s “Cool” Summer Party Returns July 8th

Island Nights

Island Nights

SeaWorld’s Waterpark, Aquatica, is preparing to help you beat the Central Florida heat.  Every Friday and Saturday night, from July 8th through August 6th, Aquatica will be offering its Island Nights presented by Coca-Cola.  Guests can enjoy these evening celebrations with a special Island Nights soundtrack, extended park hours, a daily happy hour from 5:00pm until the park closes, an evening menu sizzlin’ with flavor at Waterstone Grill and an evening kick-off party with a DJ and dancers.  These events are included with your park admission to Aquatica.

The party begins at 5:00pm as the DJ drops the first beat with a burst of water over the crowd marking the start of Island Nights. Visitors can choose to enjoy the atmosphere with the Island Nights dancers or ride the water-slides while enjoying the tunes as they are broadcasted throughout the park.

Happy hour begins at 5:00pm and runs until the park closes at 8:00pm.  Select food locations will offer $2 off beer and wine, and half-price Refillable Souvenir Cups.

Waterstone Grill will feature an Island Nights exclusive menu to include the mojo pork sandwich and pineapple burger.  Banana Beach will offer Hawaiian pizza, curry meatballs and pigeon pea rice.

Take a thrilling ride on Ihu’s Breakaway Falls as the sun sets over the Orlando skyline.  This water-slide is Orlando’s tallest, steepest, and only multi-drop tower slide of its kind.  After climbing 80 feet into the air, park goers step into one of three breakaway boxes anxiously waiting to see who will drop next as part of this wild ride.

Guests can enjoy Island Nights for just $38 when they buy their tickets in advance online, a $20 savings off of general admission. Guests can also visit both Aquatica and SeaWorld for only $99 with the Choose Your Adventure 2-parks ticket option.

New this year, Aquatica visitors can ride more slides and save time with Quick Queue.  Guests can skip the lines and enjoy front-of-the-line access to six of the most popular water-slides including Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, Taumata Racer and Omaka Rocka.  Quick Queue is available online for as low as $15.

From high-speed water-slides and exhilarating wave pools, to tranquil beaches and remarkable animal habitats, Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark has it all.  This one-of-a-kind waterpark is home to some of the world’s most thrilling water rides, featuring 42 slides, rivers and lagoons, and 84,000 square feet of sparkling white, sandy beaches and breathtaking animal exhibits.

For more information, park hours and to purchase tickets, visit AquaticaOrlando.com.  Events and times are subject to change.  Follow Aquatica on Facebook and Instagram for the latest Island Nights information.

Captain America Talks to Disney Park Guest in Sign Language

captainamerica

The Disney Parks are known for creating magical moments for their guests around the world, and fortunately a recent park-goer captured one on video for fans to see! Recently at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA an incredible moment was captured: The Captain America face character speaking in ASL (American Sign Language) to communicate with a park guest. You can check out the video shared on Instagram via a park guest:

One of the sweetest moments I’ve ever seen. Quit making me fall in love with you. ?

A video posted by jade (@xoxogossipjew) on

I find it especially wonderful that the man behind the Captain America mask decided to create such a simple, yet incredibly magical moment for an adult guest by using sign language with him. Just goes to show that the Disney parks are magical for all ages!

New Shaved Ice Treat Being Tested at Pineapple Lanai

image-69-936x1200

We hear word that there is a shaved ice treat being tested at Disney’s Polynesian Resort at the Pineapple Lanai, where you can also indulge in  the guest favorite Dole Whip. The shaved ice treat comes in 5 flavors: strawberry, blue raspberry, pina colada, mango, and passion fruit, and then condensed milk/cream is added on top.

This new offering is $4, but is not currently on the menu, so guests will have to ask for it.

The shaved ice treat used to be available at Kona Island inside the resort, but we see that now it may possibly be moving to Pineapple Lanai to join it’s famous treat brother, the Dole Whip. What do you think? Will you try one?

Girl comes out a very magical Disney way!

Splash

A 16 year old girl from California decided it was time to come out to her parents and brother. She knew for years she was gay and was never really worried about how her family reacted however wasn’t sure exactly how to come out.

The young lady, Gina, said she was never really the kind of girl who sat down and had a serious conversation so she had to come up with a fun way and then it came to her.

The responses were overwhelming and her parents and brother’s reaction was positive. Her brother and father said they knew for a while but weren’t sure. Gina said:

“I never expected it to blow up like this. This Twitter account was just my spam account where I posted random fangirl stuff but I decided it couldn’t hurt to post it and the result was absolutely amazing. People have responded saying I’ve inspired them to do the same thing, which I think is the coolest part of it all,”

What do you think about Gina’s way of coming out? Comment below!

Splash into Summer with Cute Minnie Mouse Beach Bags

Minnie Mouse Beach Bags

I’m going on an island vacation this summer, not Disney I know, but I had to find some Disney to bring with me. Enter these beautiful Minnie Mouse Beach Bags from CraftsbyIsas on Etsy. They are exactly what I was looking for!

You can carry all your items in these beautifully crafted Minnie Mouse beach bags. It’s made of black strong, vinyl coated polyester, which breathes, which is perfect for the beach or pool. The straps wrap around the bag making it strong enough for heavy duty items. The trim and front square print are 100% cotton, and it also has an outside pocket. Inside the bag there is a fabric pocket and a bottom lining. I really love a bag with mesh for the beach to help sift out sand, and keep my damp items from becoming musty. They are even machine washable, which is perfect in case you spill any of your drinks or snacks inside. The designer has a few more Disney bags offered as well.

Do you bring Disney themed items like this Minnie Mouse beach bag on your non Disney vacations too?
