Orlando Theme Park News reports that due to concrete construction beginning on July 11th in the bus stop area of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, that there will be an alternate Bus Stop operating for the resort guests at the convention center’s porte cochere.

Buses will also follow a slightly different route during that time, as they will be required to enter through the main entrance at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This concrete work is currently expected to be completed in approximately 3 weeks.

Disney World Resorts – Tons To Do, All In One Place!

WL

WL

Don’t be so quick to rush off to the Disney World theme Parks every day of your Disney vacation – spend some time at your WDW Resort– there’s tons to do! Personally, my family and I like to designate one day as a “Non-Park Day” – we sleep in, relax, and enjoy all that is available to us right outside our Resort Room door!

Swimming: Every WDW Resort has multiple pools – most have a “main” pool, where you’ll find plenty of seating, a fountain or slide or something similar for the kids, a baby pool, and of course plenty of swimming space as this tends to be the largest pool at the Resort. There are usually a few other smaller pools scattered around the Resort grounds, which tend to be quieter and more laid back

Shopping: Many of the same souvenirs you see in the Parks can be purchased right at your Resort’s gift shop. Calling it a gift shop makes it seem like a small little place – when in reality most of them are huge and carry a huge variety of items – from jewelry and apparel to tech accessories, pins, toys, plush, and some necessities too – like first aid items, medicine, wine/liquor (hey, some people consider those vacation necessities!), etc. Why not shop close to home instead of buying stuff at the Parks and then having to carry it around all day? I prefer shopping at the Resort – less crowded, and a great selection!

Dining: Every Disney Resort has at least 1 place to eat right on property (many have more than 1!), and these are no simple “grab-n-go” packaged food places either. We are talking fresh, unique, delicious food – much of which you would never be able to find at the Parks. From pizza, to plenty of kids meals, to sushi and gelato, to every class of bottled beverage – they carry it all – so if you’re planning on eating all your meals at the Parks, you might want to re-think that strategy, and plan to check out what’s on site at your Resort

Playing: Playgrounds and play areas are a part of all the Walt Disney World Resorts, so if you’re looking for a way to entertain your little ones (and yourself!), head out for a leisurely walk around the Resort – you’ll find the aforementioned playgrounds and play areas, and you may discover even more cool stuff – like hammocks, statues, walking trails, and more! Some Resorts even rent out bikes, canoes, peddle boats and other watercrafts – which means playtime for the adults, too!

Moral of the story is – don’t underestimate your WDW Resort, and take advantage of all they have to offer (which is a lot – trust me!)

Melt into Nostalgia with Disney Inspired Candles and Tarts

Simple Gals Candles
Simple Gals Candles

Disney Inspired Candles

The delicious scents and fragrances of the Disney parks are always tied to some of my fondest memories. SimpleGalsShops truly captures some of the most iconic, and even some of the more subtle smells from the Disney parks with their hand poured Disney inspired Candles and tarts.

I’ve enjoyed many of their mouth watering tarts and candles, and they all take me straight to walking in the parks, riding rides, or enjoying yummy treats. Main Street USA is by far my favorite, it smells just like the wafting scents drifting from the confectionery and pouring onto the iconic Disney Main Street. The fragrance in their warming tarts lasts quite a while and the wax can be remelted until it is no longer fragrant. Each tart comes with 6 break-a-part cubes, I found that 2 was a good amount to use to fill the room with fragrance, but not be overpowering.

These Disney inspired candles and tarts are made in small batches with lots of beautiful fragrance oil, and have a very clean burning wax. I’ve been burning my Soar Over candle, that smells like Soaring for a while, and it’s still going strong! Their newest creation is car refresher sprays that come in a wide variety just like the tarts, I have to try them out soon!

Best of all, there is even a coupon code for our loyal readers! Use CHIPANDCO15 at check out to score a great discount on their fabulous products!

Here’s some of their great Disney inspired choices below:

With so many to choose from, which one reminds you of your favorite Disney memory?

New Drinks Available at La Cava del Tequila

cava sign

If you enjoy margaritas, then there is no better place to get one at Walt Disney World than from La Cava del Tequila, which sits inside the pyramid at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot. They have many more options than the margarita kiosk outside the pavilion does, and you’ll love being able to walk into the A/C on a hot day to get your drink.

cava bar

Even though the options are already endless and amazing, there are even more fantastic new flavors and options being added to the menu!

cava

Our friends over at the Disney Food Blog had the opportunity to experience the new options and tell us about them!

The biggest addition that we notice is that there are new options for the “rim salt”, instead of just plain ol’ salt. It also appears they are now only rimming half the glass with salt, so that you have the ability to taste the drink with and without the salt flavors.

The new options include:

  • Hibiscus Salt
  • Tajin
  • Poblano Pepper Salt
  • Black Ant Salt
  • Grasshopper Salt
  • Mezcal Worm Salt

And, yes, the final three are actually made of crushed up insects.

There are also some new margarita options as well that include:

  • Tamarind (not available frozen)
  • Minty Pineapple
  • Beet

I know that the next time I find myself in Epcot, I will certainly be trying some of the new drinks, how about you?

New Rogue One Trailer and Live Streams from Star Wars Celebration Begin July 15th

Kicking off July 15th is Star Wars Celebration in London and it seems a new Rogue One trailer is not too far far away either.

For Star Wars fans this day is a force to reckoned with. ABC will be airing an hour-long special called Secrets of the Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey at 8 p.m. ET. That’s awesome enough by itself, but the TV listing summary for this making-of special describes a three minute long Rogue One trailer. That’s a full minute longer than the teaser released earlier this year.

Fans located outside of Europe needn’t disappointed about not being able to attend this month’s Star Wars Celebration.  The three-day event, which begins July 15, will be live-streamed at StarWars.com and on YouTube. Lucasfilm’s weekly YouTube series The Star Wars Show announced the live stream with the program promising that the three-day broadcast will include celebrity guests, interviews with Star Wars fans and creators and panels from the convention, including a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story panel featuring director Gareth Edwards and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Many fans expected that the Star Wars Celebration would likely bring a new Rogue One trailer, but they are also hoping for any news from Star Wars: Episode VIII and to maybe even learn the title of the new film. The film wraps up filming a week after the convention and is slated to hit theaters in December of 2017.

It has been a big year for Captain America, not only is it the 75th anniversary of the first Captain America comic, but he also played the title role in the highest grossing film thus far of 2016 (with “Civil War” having grossed $1.1 billion worldwide). To celebrate the anniversary of the international-beloved superhero, a 13-foot-tall, 1 ton Captain America bronze statue will be created, reported in a USA Today exclusive.

The bronze statue will feature the “Captain America: The First Avenger” quote: “I’m just a kid from Brooklyn”, as the statue will have its permanent home in Brooklyn, NY. The initial reveal of the statue will be at San Diego’s Comic-Con July 20th, and will continue to be on display during the whole convention till July 24th. Then, it will head across the country to end up in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on August 10th. During the statue’s journey, Marvel will feature Captain America’s stops throughout the country on their social media platforms.

Vice President of Marvel Consumer Products and Interactive Media Paul Gitter said:

“We hope that when fans see the statue, they will think back to a favorite comic book, treasured action figure or even be transported back to a special time and place in their lives where Captain America’s values played influence.”

Want to see the statue but can’t make it to Comic Con or Brooklyn? Fans at home can get an up-close look at the details of the statue with a limited edition size of 750, 12-inch replica bronze statues, as well as 100 made-to-order 35-inch pewter Captain America Statues designed by Marvel artists.

It’s said that the chargers have about 8 hours of charge added to phones and can add 4 hours of charge to your tablet. The beauty of it is though, that once you drain the Fuel Rod you can go back to another kiosk and exchange your used Fuel Rod for a new fully charged one! You can also charge it yourself with a USB cable if you prefer, because once you purchase the Fuel Rod, it is yours to keep.

Current Fuel Rod charger locations are as follows:

  • Celebrity 5 & 10

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

This seems to be a very convenient way to keep your devices charged while out and about at the parks, especially if you don’t have the time to stop and charge your phone, or if you forgot your charger back at the hotel! Will you use one if your phone battery dies while you’re at the parks? I know I will!

Take a Sneak Peek inside the New Homecoming Restaurant Opening Soon at Disney Springs

homecoming 3

We managed to sneak a quick peek inside the new Homecoming restaurant by Celebrity Chef Art Smith. The restaurant is set to open July 12, and with such things on the menu as Fried Chicken and Doughnuts and moonshine cocktails, we think it’s going to be a hit!! There is a generous number of good ol’ comfort food items on the menu, from Fried Green Tomatoes and BBQ to Shrimp and grits, so there is bound to be something to please everyone.

The 6000 square foot restaurant will seat 200 guests and will have a rustic-chic feel. The menu will prominently support the Fresh from Florida campaign with the vast majority of products coming from local farms, ranches or fisheries.

It all looks amazing, so which item on the menu would you try first?
