Steven Tyler Responds to Disney’s Removal of Hand Gesture From Rock n Roller Coaster

Steven Tyler Responds

Yesterday it was reported that Disney had removed a hand gesture made by Steven Tyler on the Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster pre-show. Which seemed like a bizarre move after the show had been around for so long. Today on Twitter Steven Tyler decided to respond to the removal. Warning, his response is not safe for work, or young eyes!

Tweet below takes a minute to load. Please be patient.

Well then Steven, tell us how you really feel! This is definitely an expressive gesture if I’ve ever seen one. What do you think about this whole gesture removal? Could there really be a feud beginning here, or do you think it’s more for publicity? Tell us what you think in the comments!

If you can’t see the live tweet, you can see a screenshot below!

Is a new Guardians of the Galaxy Roller Coaster coming to Epcot?

Guardians of the Galaxy

Hey there guys and gals it is I Anonymouse! I am back delivering to you the best in Disney Gossip!

In news that doesn’t really interest me, WDW News Today is reporting that Disney is working on a replacement for Ellen’s Universe of Energy in Epcot. We reported gossip a few months ago about Disney doing a fun balloon measuring thing where they see how a new building would look in its place. Today the gossip is that a Guardians of the Galaxy ROLLER COASTER might be the replacement attraction. I am really not to happy about this change though. I really enjoyed the edutainment theme that Future World has always had.

Rumor has it, this ride will showcase elaborate scenes and a roller coaster portion similar to the proposed Captain America Coaster at California Adventure. Yawn, sounds a bit like the Harry Potter rides to me. Or maybe they’ll throw us all off, and do a Groot themed vine swing ride, ha! Now that sounds like fun, what do you think?

As with all of my rumors as soon as something becomes official my boy Chip will post it.

That is all the Disney gossip I have for now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at anonymouse@chipandco.com or on my Facebook page

A new Patent Might Make Lightsaber Fighting More of a Reality

Lightsaber Fighting

Many of us are eagerly awaiting the official grand opening of Star Wars Land in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. As the opening approaches we’re constantly finding out about more and more awesome things that Disney will have in store for us.  Now it looks like there may have been patents filed that will make Lightsaber battles more realistic for guests.

According i09 a site called PatentYogi alerted them to a patent application, filed by Disney Enterprises. The application is for something called an “Audience Interaction Projection System.” The system will use flying drone technology  with a system created to enable fans to deflect laser beams in real time, during interactions at the park.

Lightsaber fight

The image above seems promising. i09 provided a description from the document:

An entertainment environment has a user with a faux light saber that interacts with a drone flying through the air or operated with hidden rods to appear as if its flying through the air. The faux light saber has LEDs attached thereto to provide IR light to the drone. As an LED is turned on, an invisible light sensor built into the drone captures an image of the field of view with a bright spot at the position of the activated LED. A visible light source built into the drone then projects light through particulate matter toward the faux lightsaber. As a result, the uses is provided with the illusion that the faux light saber has deflected a laser beam. Multiple LEDs can be activated in sequence at various times to give user the impression that the movement by the users of the faux light saber is deflecting multiple laser beams.

Pretty exciting sounding stuff, right? Although it’s a lot of techno talk, it’s pretty much saying that using this system, park guests can use lightsabers to deflect laserbeams. Drones will send light through a fog or dust so you can see it, and then the sabers will send it back. Right now however, it’s all just speculation. There is no official word that this will be for the Star Wars Land, but it seems to be the popular theory right now. This pairs with all the other exciting Star Wars Land news we’ve seen it looks like we’re in for a lot of surprises!

What do you think of this technology’s potential to enhance the Star Wars experience?

Planet Hollywood, America’s preeminent restaurant destination dedicated to celebrating the entertainment industry, announced today that dynamic chef, restaurateur and television personality Guy Fieri will introduce a flavor-packed burger and sandwich menu as part of their larger menu offerings for the transformed Orlando flagship location, set to reopen this fall as the Planet Hollywood Observatory at Disney Springs.

Repeatedly at the forefront of industry trends, Robert Earl, the entrepreneur, restaurateur and star of the Cooking Channel’s “Robert Earl’s Be My Guest®,” reached out to Fieri because of their shared passion for food. In addition to the section designed by Fieri, the Planet Hollywood Observatory will soon reveal the entire new menu featuring a wide variety of offerings and bold flavors.

“Guy Fieri has created an impressive culinary empire and has built an incredible TV following with several food-themed shows, so it was a no-brainer to invite him to create a special menu for Planet Hollywood Observatory. This partnership only furthers our commitment to refresh our guest experience while continuing to offer freshly-prepared, pleasing dishes,” said Planet Hollywood International Founder and Chairman Robert Earl.

Fieri, a chef, entrepreneur and New York Times bestselling author, has brought his signature blend of authentic-meets-surprising flavors to new dishes such as the Prime Time American Kobe-Inspired Burger and the Turkey Pic-a-nic Sandwich, a perfect accompaniment to Planet Hollywood’s creamy hand-dipped milkshakes. The menu will also feature new over-the-top creations that will have guests craving more after the first bite.

“It’s awesome to be working with Robert Earl and the Planet Hollywood Team,” states Fieri. “For the Planet Hollywood Observatory, I’m bringing a big time burger and sandwich menu with real deal flavors for everyone.”

Opening this fall, the Planet Hollywood Observatory is centrally located and will overlook the heart of Disney Springs with a newly expanded outdoor terrace and bar. Within the sophisticated entertainment emporium, patrons of all ages will be invited to “Dine Amongst the Stars” through distinctive indoor and outdoor bar and lounge options, an imaginative new merchandise line, and a host of all-star celebrity collaborations.

New dining options will highlight Planet Hollywood’s timeless classics and introduce Fieri’s updated creations. A curated beverage program will feature a variety of milkshakes, smoothies, wines, bottled and draft beers, as well as cocktails served in specialty glassware to cater to the needs of all guests, from groups with small children to young adults and seniors. Spacious dining rooms ensure comfort for family meals while various bar spaces set the mood for a perfect date.

The exterior will be reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century observatory with a modern design aesthetic, while the interior’s refurbished upholstery, spherical planet-shaped lighting fixtures and stylish finishing will create a welcoming atmosphere for fans to celebrate a new generation of superstar entertainers.

The village-style resort was announced in March, less than a year after the May 2015 debut of the wildly popular LEGOLAND Hotel, a five-story tower with 152 LEGO themed rooms and suites. With the opening of LEGOLAND Beach Retreat next year, the Florida site will become the first LEGOLAND resort in North America to offer two highly immersive on-site resorts with distinctly unique LEGO theming.

Designed with the same combination of imagination and kid-centric detail that made the year-old LEGOLAND Hotel an immediate hit, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat invites guests to relax in an oasis of endless outdoor fun. Kids can slide, swing, jump and climb at one of many outdoor play areas.  Each brightly colored bungalow will include a shaded patio where parents can put their feet up, kick back and relax.

A short stroll away, the resort’s largest themed swimming pool will offer hours of fun in the sun alongside an expansive sandy play area. Topped by a LEGO lighthouse, a centrally located clubhouse will feature a buffet restaurant, pool bar and a beach-themed space where kids can build with LEGO bricks and proudly display the products of their imaginations.

LEGOLAND Beach Retreat guests will enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast buffet every morning of their stay and early access to the theme park. Additional amenities and room rates will be announced soon, along with a new check-in service that will make vacationing at LEGOLAND Florida Resort as carefree as a day at the beach.

The new site will more than double the inventory of on-site accommodations, giving guests even more reasons to play — and stay — at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. Next year also will see the opening of LEGO NINJAGO® World, an all-new theme park expansion anchored by a cutting-edge ride powered by innovative technology never seen outside a LEGOLAND theme park. Marvel And Hulu Launching New Series based off of Comic Series “Runaways”

runaways-1--195144

Marvel’s TV presence is expanding into another platform. The company will be launching a new series based on Marvel’s cult favorite comic series “Runaways”, on Hulu.

“Runaways” follows a group of six teenagers who discover their parents are members of a supervillian group called The Pride. Fearing their safety they all go on the run. The group consists of Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean, Molly Hayes, Chase Stein, Alex Wilder and Gertrude Yorkes.

The Marvel series was created in 2003, by writer Brian K, Vaughan and artist Adrian Alphona. The hulu series will have Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage as showrunners.

After Vaughan and Alphona parted ways from “Runaways” in 2007, another creative team took it over, including Joss Whedon. When the comic series ended, some characters got integrated into other Marvel universe. Victor Mancha, Ultron’s son, became an Avenger, and Nico Minoru became a member of A-Force. Nico’s mother, Tina Minoru, appeared in the Doctor Strange prequel comic. So there are ties to the larger Marvel cinematic universe.

I’m always excited when an existing Marvel property is introduced into the film and TV universe. What are your thoughts?

Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs Summer Seasonal Favorites Review

Summer

Summer,

Amorette’s Patisserie, in the Town Center neighborhood of Disney Springs, offers lovely summer seasonal favorites.  While some of Amorette’s pastries are year-round favorites, there are also seasonal favorites available only for a limited-time.  With Autumn taking center stage soon, now is the time to enjoy the tastes of summer before they disappear.

20160803_172950

When summer rolls into central Florida, Strawberry Festivals abound.  Amorette’s offers the Strawberry Fields of O.C.  While not a limited-time offering, this pastry is a seasonal favorite.  With lemon and strawberry as the primary flavors, this tart offers a true taste of summer.  Lemon curd, strawberry mousse and basil sugar create a flavor combination that is fantastic.  The strawberry dominates and the touch of lemon adds just a touch of tartness.  The basil sugar balances out the flavors.

20160723_111443

The flavor combination of chocolate and peanut butter is always in season.  When you add banana and bacon to this combination, you have a true year round favorite.  The Reflections in Memphis mousse dome combines peanut butter mousse with chocolate and banana.  The real icing on this treat is the crisp bacon.  The sweetness of the peanut butter mousse, chocolate, and banana, combined with the saltiness of the bacon, make for an excellent combination sure to please the most discerning sweet and salty craving.

When I think of summer-time flavors, my palate craves the combination of raspberries and lemonade.  As a child I loved picking raspberries with my grandfather in his raspberry patch.  We would fill a tin bucket, then bring those sweet raspberries inside to enjoy them with a glass of fresh-made lemonade.  For a limited-time, Amorette’s Patisserie is offering their Raspberry Lemonade. Made with chiffon cake, lemon curd, raspberry mousse, and topped with fresh raspberries this beautiful treat is a true winner.

Looking for something special to celebrate summer?  These adorable Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald cakes are truly beautiful. These cakes are well made, very flavorful, and they are available year-round.

Be sure to stop by Amorette’s Patisserie during your next visit to Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort.  The Raspberry Lemonade will be available until early September, when they will introduce a limited-time pastry for the Autumn season.  I am thinking Pumpkin Pie!

What flavors do you crave in the summer time?  Please leave your comments in the box below.

YesterEars Vintage Apparel Collection Coming to Disney Store Online August 18

YesterEars

Disney Parks Blog has announced a new vintage apparel collection called “YesterEars” coming to the Disney Parks Online Store on August 18. This collection’s name get’s its inspiration from a shop with the same name once found at the former Downtown Disney Pleasure Island.

Over next three months, you will be able to find limited releases of this apparel inspired by classic Walt Disney World Resort attractions and locations. Check out what you will be able to find from August 18-25, 2016 at DisneyStore.com/ParkEvents.

YesterEars1

The first shirt in this collection is inspired by the Journey into Imagination. It is a recreation of a shirt worn by Disney Park’s own Steven Miller on his first trip to Walt Disney World. As a boy he fell in love with Dreamfinder and Figment. How incredible is it that the Disney Design Group artist Richard Terpstra recreated that exact ringer t-shirt! If anything shouts nostalgia, this shirt does.

YesterEars2

Richard also designed this Raglan that features artwork inspired by a Walt Disney World Preview Center advertisement. The Center was open from January 10, 1970, until September 30, 1971. The original Preview Center building can still be found on Hotel Plaza Boulevard near Disney Springs.

Lastly, is an X-S Tech shirt inspired by ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. This was an attraction opened in Tomorrowland from June 20, 1995 to October 11, 2003. I remember my first time experiencing this attraction was on a Middle School Field trip a few months after it had opened. Not going to even pretend, I was terrified getting on it! Within the Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Center was the laboratory of X-S Tech, a corporation from a distant planet who wanted to flex its interplanetary teleportation apparatus. The demonstration of power went awry with difficulties and an alien creature was accidentally teleported into the laboratory. Also known as me screaming my head off in the dark. The shirt features the logo of the corporation from this attraction.

What do you think of these very vintage and nostalgic designs coming soon? I’m so excited to see things from my childhood and before displayed on t-shirts that will be available. I think YesterEars is not only a clever, but perfect idea for an apparel collection!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Scale Back Late-Night Hours

DAKANFI678493

By now you may have heard that the Jungle Book: Alive With Magic show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is ending on September 5th. Many of us thought that signaled the long-awaited beginning of Rivers of Light, seeing as the Jungle Book show was thrown together as a last-minute replacement for Rivers of Light, after the lights and water show continued to face huge setbacks in getting ready for production.

However, the Orlando Sentinel reports otherwise, stating that as we enter Autumn, the hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be scaled back, and the park will begin closing earlier than it’s current 11 p.m. summer closing time. In September, Animal Kingdom will begin shutting down at 9 p.m. Closing times will be as early as 7 p.m. in October and 6 p.m. in November, even during the Thanksgiving weekend. However, if you take into account that earlier sunset hours happen as we head into winter, then perhaps maybe the park doesn’t need to stay open as late in order for guests to experience the nighttime Kilimanjaro Safari or the lighting of the Tree of Life.

Many rumors abound as to why Disney is cutting the park hours, such as low attendance, as well as poor reviews for the nighttime experiences at Animal Kingdom. What do you think? Will the earlier park closing time affect your next trip?
