Who Is Beverly and Where Can I Find Her?

Cool

Cool

As many of you may or may not already know, Beverly is not a “Who” but in fact is a “What.”  This bitter-flavored drink is a product of the Coca-Cola Company and originates in Italy.  You can sample this soda-style drink, in Epcot’s Club Cool, at the Walt Disney World Resort free of charge.  For a nominal fee, you can purchase a samplings tray, that includes the Beverly, at the Coca-Cola Store in the Disney Springs area of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Beverly

The Beverly is quite bitter, which is why its flavor is actually pretty unpopular amongst visitors to Club Cool.  You may have seen videos and posts from visitors showing their loved ones reactions to their first taste of Beverly.  These posts to social media have developed quite a following.  If you have ever posted one of these moments, then you very probably had a lot of “Like(s)” to your post. The Beverly is actually an Italian aperitif that is a very traditional beverage in Italian culture.  Since I am not a fan of sweet drinks, I find it to be quite refreshing and flavorful.

Samplings

If you are not a fan of Beverly then your palate may be more partial to some of the sweeter samples.  All the samplings are Coca-Cola products, from around the world, representing a variety of countries.  Club Cool offers beverage samplings from Greece, Thailand, Japan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Peru, and Brazil while allowing you a few minutes to re-group out of the central Florida heat.  Club Cool is located in the Future World section of Epcot beside Starbucks and facing the dancing water fountain feature.  There is no charge to sample these beverages and tiny disposable Coca-Cola cups are available beside the dispensers for your convenience.  You can try them all and choose a favorite.  Call me crazy, but my absolute favorite is the Beverly!

Which Club Cool sampling is your favorite?  Please leave your comments in the box below.

Tomorrowland Rocks Take On A New Galactic Blue Hue

Blue

Blue

If you have recently visited Tomorrowland in the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, you may have noticed that the rocks at the entrance are taking on a new galactic blue hue.  The color varies between metallic light blue and deep dark blue, with hints of purple and bronze.  This color change certainly looks more out of this world than the previous desert brown colors.

The base-coat paint is more of a bronze color with a tan overlay and flecks of gold.  These are the rocks that run between Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, to the right of the bridge as you enter Tomorrowland from the hub.  We will keep a look-out for the completed look in the near future.

The scaffolding is still up on the side of the rocks facing the water, to the left of the bridge as you enter into Tomorrowland from the hub, near Stitch’s Great Escape. The People Mover passes right over this location so you might want to hop aboard and have a look for yourself.  We are hopeful that these cool galactic blue-hued rocks are setting a precedent for the future of Tomorrowland.

What do you think of the new color scheme?  Please leave your comments in the box below.

Thursday evening there were two stabbings reported near the Disneyland hotel. The two victims, a female and a male, are both in critical condition. There are one or more suspects still at large.

The stabbings were both on Ball Rd, the man was stabbed just before 8pm outside the Springfield Suites Hotel. He was stabbed multiple times and taken to the hospital in critical condition. Shortly after a woman was stabbed 150 yards away, outside the Holiday Inn she was also taken in critical condition. It is unclear if the two victims knew each other however the police suspect with such a small distance between the two stabbings they are probably not random.

A female witness says she saw a man running from the scene. Another witness present, who spent the day at Disneyland with his family, said he saw the man after he was stabbed.

The stabbings do not seem to have any relationship to Disneyland however security has been increased.

Anaheim Police have released the following statement regarding the incident:

Police Officers responded to two stabbing calls within a block of each other and within two minutes late Thursday evening. The first call was received at 7:59 pm reporting a male on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of W. Ball Rd suffering from a possible gunshot wound. At 8:01 pm a second call was received of a female suffering from a stab wound in front of the Holiday Inn in the 1200 block of S. Walnut St. When officers arrived they found a 32 year old male on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of W. Ball who had been stabbed, not shot. A 30 year old female who had also been stabbed was found in front of the Holiday Inn. Both were transported to a local hospital in critical condition and their prognosis is not known at this time.

Preliminary reports indicated both victims were stabbed by the same suspect, but it is not yet known if the victims were together or the attacks were separate crimes. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 20-30 years old, 220-240 pounds, wearing jeans and a hoodie. While the incident occurred near the Disneyland Resort there is absolutely no link to the resort and the resort was not impacted in anyway.

Detectives are on scene continuing the investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS or by email to www.occrimestoppers.org.

We will keep you posted with any new information.

The much-awaited sequel to the Disney Channel smash “Descendants” is on its way! The story deepens in the music-driven sequel as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay (also known as Villain Kids or VKs) — try to find their place in idyllic Auradon. When the pressure to be royally perfect becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.

DESCENDANTS 2 - Disney Channel's original movie "Descendants 2" stars Cameron Boyce as Carlos, Sofia Carson as Evie, Dove Cameron as Mal, Booboo Stewart as Jay and Mitchell Hope as Ben. (Disney Channel/Bob D'Amico/Craig Sjodin)

Mal’s friends — Carlos, Evie and Jay — decide to go with him to help, but first they have to teach him their wicked ways so he can sneak around the Isle of the Lost without being recognized.”

Emmy Award-winning director Kenny Ortega (“Descendants,” “High School Musical” movies, 2016’s “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”) will return as director, executive producer and choreographer. “Descendants” executive producer Wendy Japhet (“An Education”, “The Italian Job”) also returns for the sequel.
