Top Four Things You Need to Know About Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Topiary

Topiary

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival kicks off today! This 90-day festival will be blossoming through May 29 featuring amazing topiaries, delectable treats and awesome entertainment.  With the full slate of offerings, lower crowds and springtime temperatures it easy to recommend this festival as a must-do. Here’s what you need to know:

Epcot Figment

The Sights

This year’s festival will feature nearly 100 world-renowned Disney-themed topiaries that are truly spectacular. Among the additions to this year’s Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is a brand-new Belle topiary with sculpted facial features that can be found in the France Pavilion. Belle joins a new generation of princess topiaries including Snow White, Anna and Elsa who were introduced at last year’s festival. Speaking of Anna and Elsa, here’s a little hint for viewing these topiaries, be sure to stop by after sunset and see Elsa’s snowy garden sparkle in the night (how does Disney work that magic?). Other additions to this year’s creative lineup include everyone’s favorite imaginary dragon, Figment, as well as a tribute to the National Parks Service centennial featuring Ranger Mickey Mouse. Each year one of the highlights is the new topiary garden at the entrance to World Showcase, and this year we’ll be greeted by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy, and Pluto in “Welcome Spring Fun, Food and Flowers,” a garden inspired by a vintage Walt Disney short film.

Scallops

The Food

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival highlights amazing gardens and topiaries, but tasty food and drink are a big part of the fun. Two new Outdoor Kitchens, Northern Bloom and The Berry Basket, join 13 returning Outdoor Kitchens in providing delectable eats all around World Showcase Promenade. You will need more than one day to try all these tasty treats!  Some of the mouthwatering choices include Macaron Chocolate Framboise from Fleur De Lys, Home-Made Falafel from Taste of Marrakesh, and Seared Scallops from Northern Bloom. Yum! Check out the full list of eats here.

Garden Rocks

The Sounds

Garden Rocks, the festival’s weekend concert series, returns this year with the addition of Mondays. Every Friday through Monday will feature a line-up of 1960s, ‘70s, ’80s, and ‘90s bands. Debuting at this year’s Garden Rocks Concert Series are Exposé (“Point of No Return”), and Berlin featuring Terri Nunn (“Take My Breath Away”). Check out the full line-up here. (P.S. You can reserve seating and dining for select weekends during the festival––see available dates here).

Pins

The Memories

Festival fans will have a variety of souvenirs options at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. New merchandise will include apparel, headware (the Mouse ear headband is fun!), and home décor. Fashionistas will be excited to hear about the release of five Dooney & Bourke handbags. Disney pin collectors be sure to look for a limited release logo pin along with several limited edition pins. The four-pin, limited edition pin set features Disney characters such as Orange Bird or Judy Hopps from Disney’s “Zootopia.”

Relax and Take a Bath with Delightful Disney Inspired Bath Sets

Disney Inspired Bath Sets

I have to admit, I love indulging in spa days. They are such a nice way to regroup, but as a busy mom it’s hard to get to the spa. RensRemedies on Etsy has a solution though, Disney Inspired Bath Sets!

These beautiful sets come with a complimenting Disney inspired candle and bath bomb. So when you need a little magical get away you can light a candle to whisk you away to a fairy tale, and drop a fizzing delight in the tub to relax. These sets will make your skin feel super soft, and your bathroom smell delicious. There are a few fragrances to choose from, including a Sleeping Beauty inspired set that says pink or blue, you’ll have to see, I love that bit of cleverness! Of course you can get just the candle, or just the bath bomb if that’s your preference. Also Haunted Mansion lovers might love the Madame Leota soap!

Would you escape on a magical spa get away with one of these Disney Inspired Bath Sets?

Disneyland Paris Announces Price Increase

Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris

Annual passes for Disneyland Paris will soon see a price increase. In the wake of the announcement earlier this month that the Walt Disney World Company is planning on buying out the Disneyland Paris Resort, an announcement has been released that Annual Passes will be restructured.

Four new Annual Passports tiers will be rolled out on March 29, 2017. The new annual pass tiers include Discovery, Magic Flex, Magic Plus and Infinity, and will replace the existing Classic, Fantasy and Dream passes.

The current system pricing includes:

  • Classic: 200 days for €135 (US$143)
  • Fantasy: 320 days for €179 (US$189)
  • Dream: 365 days for €223 (US$236)

Pricing for the four new tiers will include:

  • Discovery: 150 days for €139 (US$147)
  • Magic Flex: 300 days for €189 (US$200)
  • Magic Plus: 350 days for €249 (US$264)
  • Infinity: 365 days for €399 (US$422)

Although those of us purchasing annual passes for either of the parks in the United States would be thrilled by these prices, the new 365 day Infinity Pass for Disneyland Paris represents an enormous 79% price increase. Disneyland Paris is softening the price increase blow by including for Infinity passholders unlimited use of PhotoPass, free Premium parking, priority AP entrances and 50% hotel discount.

Disneyland Paris has been hurting for sometime, along with other Paris area tourism. However, Disneyland Paris will be kicking off the park’s 25th Anniversary celebration next month that should result in an influx of visitors. With a recovering tourism industry in Paris, Disneyland Paris management must believe a price increase will not impact attendance.

What do you think of the price increase? Let me know in the comments.
