We should all be thankful for the added security at the entrance to Disney’s theme parks, especially after WDW News Today reports that a female guest was apprehended after reportedly trying to bring a gun into Animal Kingdom. The gun was found during the bag screening process at the entrance, before the metal detectors.

The gun was confiscated, and eyewitnesses claim the woman was handcuffed and escorted off property by police. No word on whether or not she was actually arrested, but we will keep you posted as we know more.

Disney Villains Mystery Minis are a Deviously Cute Collectible

Disney Villains Mystery Minis

I’m such a sucker for the adorable little vinyl Disney figures by Funko that are around these days. The Princess Mystery Minis were amazing, but I love my villains as much as my princesses. I found these devilish little Disney Villains Mystery MinisDisney Villains Mystery Minis are a Deviously Cute Collectible while searching for spooky Disney Halloween finds.

Your favorite Disney Villains and Buddies have been given the Funko Mystery Mini treatment! These 3 inch blind box figures are perfect for fans and collectors alike. Just like the beautiful Disney Princess Mystery MinisDisney Villains Mystery Minis are a Deviously Cute Collectible collectionDisney Villains Mystery Minis are a Deviously Cute Collectible, there are Villains and and sidekicks. I don’t know how I feel about Cruella coming with a Dalmatian puppy though… I do love that there is a Hades figure though, and Prince Richard! Both are villains you never see a lot of. Each Single Pack is a blind box that comes with a mystery Villain or sidekick!

New Dooney & Bourke Collection Features Disney Villains Purses

Disney Villains Purses

The newest Dooney & Bourke collection has arrived just in time for Halloween. This devious new pattern features the baddest of the bad, Disney Villains, in a black and white design with red accents. The collection will feature 3 very popular Dooney styles, the wristlet, the crossbody, and the tote. I feel like I’ve been waiting for Disney Villains Purses from Dooney & Bourke my whole life!

db-villains-2

The entire collection features the same villainous repeating pattern, and even includes some of the animal villains! The wristlet is a comfortable option, and great for quick trips. It’s also a great item for when you have a larger bag such as a backpack, but want to be able to easily grab out your essentials.

db-villains-3

The great thing about the crossbody and tote bags, is you get to see the entire design. The crossbody is also my ultimate favorite for wearing to the parks. You can comfortably wear it, and there’s enough room to carry extras you might need while touring the Disney Parks.

db-villains

The tote is the ultimate bag for carrying everything you need between work, home, errands… and even shopping! This style also gives you the clearest view of this amazing new pattern.

The Dooney & Bourke Disney Villains Purses are absolutely fantastic! Currently it is only available on the Shop Disney Parks App, but should also be available at the Parks and Online soon! For more details be sure to check out The Disney Fashionista.

Man Dies After Riding Star Tours at Hollywood Studios

star-tours-00

We all know that Disney routinely takes their rides down for maintenance and service, since safety is their top priority for guests. So it seems a bit shocking to hear that a guest of Disney dies and it is related to a ride at a Disney Park. The Orlando Sentinel reports that a 67 year old man with a pre-existing heart condition fell ill and passed away after riding Star Tours. The District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Ralph Lyles of Memphis, Tenn.

“The cause of death was listed as hypertensive cardiovascular disease with other significant conditions contributing to death listed as obesity,” spokeswoman Sheri Blanton said in an email.

The death last month was recorded in a list of serious ride-related injuries and illnesses the major theme parks report to the state on a quarterly basis. The big attractions are not subject to mandatory state inspections, but they disclose ride-related injuries or illnesses requiring an immediate hospital stay of at least 24 hours.

We can all rest assured that this man’s fate had nothing to do with a lack of safety on Disney’s rides but had everything to do with his own pre-existing health condition. Disney will always be sure to keep guests safety as their number one priority in their parks.

SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular Event Review

SWS

SWS

SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular Event takes place every weekend during the month of October.  I had the pleasure of experiencing this fun, and only slightly spooky, event recently.  From animal encounters, whimsical pumpkins and trick-or-treating, to character meets and the Sesame Street Countdown to Halloween Show, there is something here for everyone.

When I arrived to the event I had to check in.  I was told that there are maps along the path.  If you wish to have a paper map of the park be sure to pick one up at the front entrance.  To follow the trick-or-treat path, just look for the “Enter Here” signs with the candy corn base.

The animal encounters were quite interesting.  These beautiful creatures were visible outside amongst the people, which was really a special way to experience a visual encounter with them.  The most popular animal, amongst the younger set, was the miniature owl.

There were whimisical pumpkins in various locations around the park.  Each location presented a fun photo opportunity.

There were plenty of trick-or-treat stations along the trick-or-treat path.  The SeaWorld Team Members were energetic and had a smile at the ready when you said the magic words; “Trick-or-Treat.”  You are able to go back to the stations as often as you like.  Be aware that there are a lot of stations and the path is actually quite long.  Great fun for the little ones!

All along the extensive event path, you will meet a variety of characters.  They interact with the children by asking them questions, telling jokes, dancing, and posing for photos with them.

There are many photo opportunities throughout the park.  Just look along the path and see what you can find.

The trick-or-treat bags are really adorable.  I felt compelled to have my bag take a selfie with one of the whimsical pumpkins on display.

The Sesame Street Countdown to Halloween stage show was my favorite part of the event.  The characters were cute and funny.  The Count was slightly spooky, as only he can be.  There are some darkened moments during the show.  However, it is never completely dark.  Each part of the show is set to music and children can sing and dance along too. I can assure you that you will have “The Monster Mash” stuck in your head for days!

SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular is a wonderful family friendly event.  I recommend this for anyone with young children.  Be sure to dress up in a fun costume and be prepared to have fun.

Walt Disney World Resort Specific Paper Cups Now Available

Paper Cups

We recently reported that Disneyland Resort specific paper cups were spotted in California.  We are happy to report that you can also get Walt Disney World Resort specific paper cups at Walt Disney World in Florida.  The cup featured in this article was discovered at the Be Our Guest restaurant in the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.  Upon further investigation, these cups exist at most quick service locations throughout the Walt Disney World Parks.

The paper cups boast the same Autumn Halloween print we see on the paper popcorn buckets at the Walt Disney World Resort Parks. With Halloween fast-approaching, we are curious to see if there will be a winter holiday fountain drink cup.  While at Epcot today, I asked a Manager at one of the quick service restaurants about this  He confirmed that in fact there will be a winter holiday print on the fountain drink cups.  The question then will be, whether the cups are Walt Disney World Resort specific.  We will certainly pay attention to these details and check back when November rolls around.

We are not sure if the Disney Resorts will go back to the standard red and yellow “Disney Parks” cups when the Autumn and Winter holidays are past.  Stay tuned here for future updates.
