Get ready to hear “You’re Welcome” all day long! Disney’s Moana is on Netflix just in time for summer break. The movie hit Netflix today, which is great because now there is no need for my kids to fight over who is going to put in the DVD for the fifth time today!

If you haven’t had the chance to see Moana, I highly recommend taking advantage of watching the film while its streaming on Netflix, as Disney movies are generally only available on Netflix for a limited time. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the movie made $642.7 million worldwide.

The movie follows the journey of Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) a free-spirited teen who defies her father and teams up with the self-centered demigod Maui, (Dwayne Johnson) to save the island of her people. Disney is at its best with amazing music paired with a story line that is sure to touch your heart.

Directorial Changes Announced for Upcoming Untitled Han Solo Film

Lucasfilm has just announced that currently untitled Han Solo film will have a directorial change.

Here is the statement that was released today from Lucasfilm and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller:

“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.

“Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project. We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew,” stated Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.”

The untitled Han Solo film remains scheduled for a May 2018 release.

Bachelor in Paradise WILL Return This Season

As we previously reported, filming on this season’s Bachelor in Paradise came to an unexpected halt among “allegations of misconduct” after a producer filed a complaint about “lack of consent” during a scene that was filmed for the show. ABC and Warner Brothers even went as far as sending all the contestants home from their filming location in Mexico.

Today, ABC released a statement stating that the production will resume for this season and the show will air later this summer.

An ABC spokesperson said: “We appreciate the swift and complete investigation by Warner Bros. into allegations of misconduct on the set of ‘Bachelor in Paradise.’ Given their results, the series will resume production, and will air this summer on ABC.”

Bachelor in Paradise is a reality show that airs on ABC featuring “former fan favorites and controversial characters (from the Bachelor and Bachelorette) looking for a chance at love.” This will be the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise. It is unknown at this time if the show will return on it’s scheduled season premiere date of August 8 and if the contestants involved in the incident in question will for filming.

As I previously mentioned, I didn’t think this show would ever return to the air. So, the fact that it has returned for this season is quite shocking. I’m interested to see how it plays out on TV.

ABC is owned by the Walt Disney Company.

Disney Files Patent for Technology That Will be Used in a Captain America Virtual Shield Throwing Experience

Disney filed a patent on technology that simulates throwing and catching Captain America’s shield. The new technology will be part of a new virtual reality experience.

The patent designs show how users would fasten some type of motion sensor to their forearm with a physical shield on a short rail. The shield would slide on the rail when the user makes a throwing motion. However, the physical shield would never leave the arm piece, sensors would simulate a virtual shield, which would travel based on how it is thrown.

Although the designs in the application show Captain America’s shield, the application indicates the technology could be applied to any situation involving throwing a simulated projectile.

Guests will be aiming for targets in simulated battle scenarios and the shield would have a “boomerang effect” as it does in the comics and movies. It is expected to have various levels of difficulty making some targets harder to hit.

Disney has been developing Marvel attractions for its California Adventure theme park. It’s newest attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! opened last month.

Walt Disney World Resort Becomes Orlando Magic’s First Jersey Sponsor

Orlando basketball fans will be getting a little extra “magic” when their beloved home team the Orlando Magic, hits the court during the 2017 – 2018 NBA season. The result of a community sponsorship agreement between Walt Disney World and The Orlando Magic, Disney will become the first jersey sponsor for the basketball team. Be on the lookout for that MAGICAL Disney logo on the court this upcoming season!

“With Orlando as our hometown, magic has always been a key strand of our DNA,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. “This expanded agreement with Disney brings our story full circle and represents the coming together of two dynamic organizations that have become synonymous with Orlando.”

Since becoming a Champion of the Community sponsor with the Magic in 2010, Disney has been working with the Magic on outreach initiatives that benefit the local community and make Central Florida a better place to live, work and play. The uniform sponsorship strengthens the relationship between Disney and the Magic and will connect both fan bases, provide shared marketing opportunities and cement Central Florida’s reputation as a global sports destination.

“At Walt Disney World Resort, we naturally believe in all things magic and are happy to support our hometown team,” said George A. Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World Resort. “This long-term relationship symbolizes our shared focus of solidifying Orlando as a world class city for sports.”

As part of this multi-year agreement, Disney will expand its presence at the Amway Center by adding a special seating and hospitality area that may be used for annual passholder upgrades during select Orlando Magic home games. Disney-branded Orlando Magic jerseys will also be available for purchase at the Amway Center.

The Orlando Magic becomes the seventh NBA team to announce a jersey sponsorship.

2017 Ranking of Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America Includes Two Walt Disney World Chefs

Dessert Professional Magazine has released their “Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America” and two of Walt Disney World’s very own Pastry Chefs have made the list. After sampling some of the amazing desserts Walt Disney World has to offer I can understand why! At an event to honor the winners, Pastry Chef Stefen Riemer and Pastry Chef Olivier Saintemarie were both invited to New York City on June 5th to showcase their talents.

As executive pastry chef on the Culinary Development team for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Riemer creates new pastry menus and brands like Amorete’s Patisserie and the The Ganachery at Disney Springs. He was classically trained in Europe and joined the Disney Culinary team in 1999. This is not the first time Riemer has been singled out from among his peers. He has also received the prestigious Walt Disney Legacy Award for outstanding achievement.

“I am so honored to be recognized, but a chef is nothing without a great team and the influence of the people surrounding him,” said Riemer.

If you have been to been to the Chefs de France restaurant at EPCOT you have more than likely tasted the amazing desserts that have come out of Chef Saintemarie’s kitchen. He started at the French pavilion in World Showcase in 2014 where he opened the new bakery and production kitchen. Before his life with Disney he also was classically trained in Europe after completing a year in the French Navy. After moving to London he then joined Disney Cruise Line in 1999 where he was executive pastry chef. Currently he oversees the bread and pastry production for Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, Les Chefs de France, Monsieur Paul and L’Artisan des Glaces.

“Stefan and I met when we both joined the Disney company in 1999, and it was such an honor to be there together in New York receiving the award, in the company of such notable chefs,” said Saintemarie.

Disney Store today announced the new collections and Limited Edition sets to launch at this year’s D23 Expo 2017, Disney’s ultimate fan event held at the Anaheim Convention Center July 14-16. The never-before-seen collections celebrate milestone anniversaries and everyone’s favorite Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters.

D23 Expo 2017 attendees will be introduced to the new Disney Designer Collection and get a first look at the newest collections debuting at this year’s event, including exclusive Disney Store pieces from Her Universe, the Art of Snow White collection, MXYZ Vinyl Mini Blind Box Collectibles, and, for the first time ever, a D23 Expo Marvel collection from Disney Store.

In addition to the chance to shop special products not yet available to the general public, fans will have the opportunity to meet some of the artists and designers who created these exciting new collections.

Taking a stroller to the Disney theme parks, has it’s pluses and minuses. The plus of course is a place for the little to rest their weary legs, and somewhere to hold all the goodies. One of the downsides, is trying to find it after a ride and it’s been moved! Well the Stroller Spotter is here to fix that issue!

Disney Junior to Release Fifth ‘Sophia the First’ TV Movie Event, June 24th

On June 24th, 2017 Disney Junior will premiere the latest television movie event for its Sophia the First series. In “Sophia the First: The Mystic Isles” Sophia’s sister Amber will join Sophia on her newest adventure. Watch as they team up with new friends, in the magical world of Mystic Isles, to stop an evil CrystalMaster from taking away the magic of the enchanted land. See the trailer below:
