D23 Sip & Stroll Event returns on October 3rd to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort!

On Tuesday October 3rd, 2017 D23 Members can commemorate the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival with the return of the D23 foodie favorite event: Sip and Stroll! This year’s experience includes D23-exclusive culinary and beverage demonstrations, sizzling entertainment, time to sip and stroll with fellow members, and a dessert reception along the banks of the World Showcase. Exclusive to this year, the day’s activities will pay homage to 35 years of Epcot!

Cost is $125 per person, plus a $5 per person processing fee.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 4, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. EST).

Available to Gold and Gold Family Members. You will be required to show a photo ID. Members will be required to show their D23 Membership Cards.

Check-in will be from 10:30 – 11 a.m. near the entrance of the World Showcase. After enjoying free time, attendees will meet at the Festival Center at 2 p.m. with culinary demonstrations and tastings from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Guests will have VIP viewing to Eat to the Beat performance at 5 p.m., followed later in the evening with a VIP Dessert Reception while watching IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

All guests will receive a $25 Disney Gift Card to enjoy food and beverages of their choice during free time.

Our fan-favorite D23 event returns October 3 to celebrate the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort! Exclusive to this year, D23’s Sip & Stroll will honor the 35th anniversary of this beloved theme park with iconic food and drinks from yesteryear.

The event will kick off with each guest receiving a $25 Disney Gift Card to taste some of the delicious offerings at the Food & Wine Festival throughout both the World Showcase and Future World.

Attendees will then gather at the Festival Center for two hours of D23-exclusive culinary and beverage demonstrations! These one-of-a-kind experiences will showcase fan-favorite foods, as well as both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage items from Epcot over the past 35 years.

We’ll then head over to the America Gardens Theatre for reserved seating at the 5 p.m. Eat to the Beat concert!

The event culminates in a delightful dessert reception at the Isle de France. D23 Members will mix and mingle in the moonlight while enjoying a variety of specialty desserts—the perfect setting to enjoy VIP viewing of Epcot’s stunning nighttime spectacular, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth!

Continuing the tradition, this D23 event wouldn’t be complete without an exclusive gift—created just for you!

D23 Gold and Gold Family Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one (1) guest.
Due to the nature of this experience, all attendees must be at least 21 years of age or older to partake in this D23 event. ID will be required upon check-in.
This event does not include admission to Epcot. Guests will need to have or purchase admission to Epcot to attend. If planning to use a Walt Disney World Annual Pass to attend, each guest should check blockout dates to verify that the pass is valid for admission on Tuesday, October 3.
There is a very limited number of tickets available. D23 Members will be required to provide their membership number when reserving tickets. Tickets may be picked up only with a valid photo ID AND D23 MEMBERSHIP CARD. D23 Members who do not bring their membership card may not be admitted to the event. Classic Space Mountain Is Returning to Disneyland Park This Summer

Just a few short days after the 40th anniversary of Space Mountain, Disneyland will mark the occasion by bringing back the classic version of this beloved ride. On June 1st space travelers will once again be launched on an intergalactic journey through the cosmos.

Walt Disney himself developed the concept of Space Mountain in the 1960s. A variation of which, first opened in Walt Disney World inside its Magic Kingdom Park in 1975. It became such a popular ride that construction started soon after in Disneyland. Space Mountain has become so popular in fact that Disney has given guests special themed versions of this ride such as Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Hyperspace Mountain.

So mark your galactic calendars for June 1st for the return of Space Mountain to Disneyland!

Disney aficionados, film buffs, and musical theater fans can expect a show like no other when eight-time Oscar^®-winner Alan Menken performs his own music and shares entertaining anecdotes about his unrivaled career at D23 Expo 2017. His songs and music have enchanted audiences around the world, and now they will thrill D23 Expo guests with two performances of his exciting new one-man show, A Whole New World of Alan Menken, on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Hall D23 of the Anaheim Convention Center.

Menken has won more Academy Awards^®than any other living individual. He has received 11 Grammy^® Awards, seven Golden Globes, a Tony Award,^®and19 Academy Award^®nominations. He has been credited with introducing a whole new generation to musicals through such box office hits as Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Enchanted, and Tangled, as well as the Broadway shows Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act, Newsies, A Bronx Tale, and the ABC television series Galavant.

Tyra Banks Will Reprise Her Role Of Eve In “Life-Size 2”

Freeform announced today that Tyra Banks will reprise her role as Eve (the doll that was brought to life by a young Lindsay Lohan) in the sequel to “Life-Size” called “Life-Size 2”. The original came out in 2000, so it’s been a while!

In Life-Size 2, a grown-up Eve will be awakened by a new young woman, who will need Eve’s help with with learning “to live and love again.” The movie will also take place during Christmastime! We selfishly hope this movie includes a Christmas shopping spree, so we can live vicariously through it.

Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger” Trailer Is Here

Though the series won’t be premiering for another year, Freeform has debuted the first trailer for their series Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger” from their Upfronts presentation.

Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger” is a series based on the favorite comic characters. Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) come from very different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. The series is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball) is set to direct the first episode.

The series also stars Andrea Roth (Rescue Me, Blue Bloods), Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot), Miles Mussenden (Bloodline, Queen Sugar), Carl Lundstedt (Grey’s Anatomy, Conviction) James Saito (Life of Pi, The Devil’s Advocate), and J.D. Evermore (True Detective, The Walking Dead).

The 10 one-hour series is slated to debut early 2018.

The conversion of Tower of Terror over at Disney California Adventure to a new Guardian’s of the Galaxy-themed attraction called Mission BREAKOUT! has divided Disney fans. Though some argued that the ride was perfect the way it was, others are happy to see this Marvel franchise become more of a presence at the theme parks. Regardless of what side of the camp you’re in, you have to admit, with the new images we are about to share with you, that the Tower is looking mighty impressive these days.

As you can see the Tower of Terror has now been transformed into the home of Taneleer Tivian’s extensive collection of intergalactic rarities including his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. A close look at the exterior reveals out-of-this-world details with shimmering pipes climbing the exterior, rising and falling gantry lifts and signs that the building may have taken a laser hit or two.

Opening on May 27, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! sees you boarding a gantry lift to ascend The Collector’s towering citadel where you join Rocket on a mission to free the Guardians of the Galaxy from the Collectors nefarious clutches. The mission will take you from the depths of tower to nearly 200 feet in the air all while listening to the amazing tracks including on one of Star-lord’s mix tapes.

Visitors to Disney California Adventure Park this Summer should be prepared to be blown away by the amazing special effects, popular characters, sensational music and that feeling that comes with a giant free fall! All these elements combine to make this an adventure you won’t soon forget.

‘Captain Marvel’ Finds Its Directors With Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck

Marvel has selected Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to direct the upcoming Marvel/Disney film “Captain Marvel”.

Since announcing that Brie Larson, the Oscar winner, would be playing the titular superhero, the studio has taken its time in finding the film’s director, initially courting several women to take the helm.

The studio met with multiple contenders for the directing job, and sources say that Marvel not only wanted to make sure that the search was thorough, but that the script was in the right shape before signing a director.

Florida Lawmaker Advocating for a Statue of Walt Disney to Be Erected at U.S. Capitol

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that a Florida lawmaker has recently put a halt to plans to replace the statue of a Confederate General in the U.S. Capitol with a new piece honoring Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, an environmentalist who played a key role in the preservation of the Florida Everglades. Instead, Rep. Scott Plakon, R-Longwood is making the case that a statue of Walt Disney should serve as the replacement.

Every state gets to place two statues in the U.S. Capitol building honoring important historical figures in that State’s history. Currently Florida’s statues are John Gorrie who pioneered the technology the brought refrigerators into American households and Confederate Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith. The issue of whether to replace Gen. Kirby with Walt Disney will need to be put to the 161 legislators in Florida as well as the governor.

The bill to approve the statue is currently on hold for the remainder of this year with a decision unlikely until some point in 2018.

The Disney Wilderness Lodge opened in 1994 and later welcomed its first Disney Vacation Club Member home to the Boulder Ridge Villas in 2000.

All three of these unique resorts will tell three equally distinct stories about the Transcontinental Railroad, from it’s beginning in the late 1800’s(Boulder Ridge), the evolution of the early 1900’s (Wilderness Lodge), and its re-imagining through the years (Copper Creek). Visiting these three resort properties will give guests a sense of traveling through time and showcases the natural wonders that brought those first travelers West. Johnny Depp Surprises Guests on Pirates of the Caribbean Ride at Disneyland

The passengers on The Pirates of the Caribbean Ride at Disneyland tonight got more than they bargained for when the real Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) stepped out from the shadows of the attraction. The ride was reported temporarily closed for a period of time, once it reopened Jack was there to welcome fellow pirates and persuade them to let him board their vessels!

A notice of filming was posted outside the attraction’s entrance. This might be a good clue that this is part of a promotion for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
