2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend Starts Today!

This weekend more than 27,500 runners will be participating in the 6th annual Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend at Disneyland Resort. This half marathon, one of four races held this weekend, is one of the top women-focused race weekends in the country.

Propelled by pixie dust these runners will soar through the 13.1 mile half marathon course which goes throughout the Disneyland Resort area and the streets of Anaheim. 5,000 of these athletes will take on the larger Pixie Dust Challenge by running the 10K on Saturday and then the half marathon the following day.

Schedule of the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend events:

Friday, 5 a.m. – Never Land 5K • Main Street U.S.A., Disneyland Park

Saturday, 5:30 a.m. – Tinker Bell 10K • Start/Finish: Disneyland Resort

Sunday, 5:30 a.m. – Tinker Bell Half Marathon • Start/Finish: Disneyland Resort

Here is a link to the road closure maps. Traffic will be difficult during this weekend. Plan accordingly!

Pandora Passholder Preview Reservation Added to My Disney Experience

Passholders who were fortunate to secure an advance reservation for a preview of the Pandora – The World of Avatar can now view the reservation in their My Disney Experience account. Passholder previews will be taking place in this new area of Animal Kingdom from May 13 through 22.

The email to Passholders with a preview reservation reminds guests that the reservation is good only for the confirmed time and early admission will not be allowed. The entry credentials on the My Disney Experience will look similar to a FastPass+ reservation. Although most reservations are appearing as the Na’vi River Journey, the email notifies guests that the reservation is good for entry into the land only and not necessarily for a specific attraction. The sneak peek will allow guests two hours to explore the area and hopefully experience the new attractions as well.

2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend Road Closure Maps

This weekend the Disneyland Resort is hosting the Tinker Bell Half Marathon. This year’s race has an all new start and finish line, and features an amazing course that winds through the Disneyland Resort and the city of Anaheim. With such a long course there will be various road closures around the Disneyland Resort in effect both before and during the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend.

We are including maps of these road closures to help your travels be a little less stressful. Stay safe and plan accordingly!

Monday May 8th through Monday May 15th – Disneyland Drive will be closed nightly from Magic Way to Paradise Way. This will occur from 12:01 until 8:00 AM.

Saturday, May 13 – Tinker Bell 10K Day

Sunday, May 14 – Tinker Bell Half Marathon Day

Guardians of The Galaxy 3 Reportedly Begins Production in 2021

With the hugely successful release of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in theaters over the weekend, Disney is gearing up for a big cosmic summer. Starting May 27, Disney California Adventure Park will launch its Summer of Heroes with the opening of the all-new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Summer of Heroes fun continues with a new encounter for guests called “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!” Star-Lord and Gamora have to return to the Collector’s Fortress to retrieve his precious boom box and they need your help to avoid discovery. What better way to distract your enemy then with a Dance Off, where guests can show off their best moves!

As a special treat, the one and only Groot (all grown up!) shows up at the end of the party to visit with everyone as Star-Lord and Gamora make their escape.

Summer of Heroes also brings more excitement with the Avengers Training Initiative featuring Black Widow and Hawkeye. Guests will also have heroic encounters with Black Widow, Captain America and your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. This summer is going to be epic!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War Mobile Game Available Now

The fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie is ready to set sail for theaters in just a couple weeks! For those of us mateys who can’t wait that long to board, JOYCITY and Disney has announced a new game to tide us over. Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War Mobile Game is available now yo ho!

JOYCITY, a game developer and publisher based in Korea, and Disney announced today the launch of its mobile game, Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War. The new mobile strategy game is inspired by the popular Disney blockbuster series, “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and features characters, ships and storylines based on the hit movies. The game is available for free download with in-app purchases on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

n the game, players become pirates in the world of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and will enjoy a full sea fight experience on their mobile devices. As they plan various strategies through building and ship construction and troops training, players can form an alliance to battle against each other or defeat common monsters that dwell in the sea! Players will also encounter familiar characters from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” including Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa and Will Turner.
