Nothing is more fitting than being able to enjoy a glass of Banshee Wine while strolling through Pandora-The World of Avatar. If you have been following Pandora news then you know all about those adorable pet Banshees, and can understand why I got so excited when I saw the name BANSHEE on the label!

You can find the California-based Banshee Wine at Satu’li Canteen in both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir has hints of red berry preserves, crushed rose petals, forest floor, and baking spice, while the Chardonnay has aromas of meyer lemon, cream, gravenstein apple, and nutmeg.

Banshee Wine is sure to please both red and white wine enthusiasts and is on the menu for $9 a glass. Pandora-The World of Avatar opens May 27th at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Will Pandora Crowds Force Cast Members to Give up Their Parking?

The current rumor around the parks, is that Disney is making all their Animal Kingdom Cast Members park at the Magic Kingdom this weekend. Supposedly, they plan to then bus the Cast Members over to Animal Kingdom. According to the rumors this is due to the crowds predicted for the grand opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney has not confirmed this information, however, we already know that Disney’s Animal Kingdom has expanded its resort bus loop in preparation for the increased traffic expected with the park’s new expansion, Pandora.

The parking change isn’t far-fetched. Florida welcomed a record number of tourists in early 2017, and Pandora’s grand opening is scheduled for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, a popular time for travelers to kick off their summer season.

“Circle with Disney” Raises 10 Million in Funding

“Circle with Disney” is a device that helps parents better manage internet content that is being accessed by their children on their home network and mobile devices.

Circle Media recently announced it has raised $10 million in Series A funding. $7 million in new money came from investors, adding to the $3 million in convertible notes that changed from loan to stock.

“Circle with Disney” offers parents a easier way of managing the devices on their home network, including when family members are allowed to be online, and what content they’re able to access. And while this is not a new concept, “Circle with Disney” goes beyond filters and time limits with unique bedtime and reward features.

It is a breeze to set up and maintain regardless of how many kids you have in different age ranges. Kids have their very own easy to use dashboard where they can even keep track of their chores.

And to help parents manage internet activity on the go there is “Circle Go”. Designed for mobile devices or devices connected to Wi-Fi outside the home.

“Circle with Disney” is priced at $99.00 and can be found at multiple retailers including Disney Store.com The “Circle Go” is an add on subscription at a monthy cost of $9.95.

Windtraders Offers Pandora Visitors An Immersive and Unique Shopping Experience

Visitors to Pandora – The World of Avatar this Summer will definitely want to set aside some time to check out Windtraders, the amazing Avatar-themed retail outlet. What you’ll find is more than just a shop but an exciting and immersive experience.

A huge focal point of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Pandora is a connection to the land/environment and you’ll find it in all of the fantastic details of this shop. From animal plush toys, glowing apparel, as well as drums and other toys that appear to be made by local Na’vi merchants, Windtraders is an absolute treasure trove of unique Pandora-themed goodies.

Guests even have the option to bring home glowing vein pods, or their own helicordian plant. However, the real star of the Windtraders merchandising line-up is the Banshee Rookery. Its home to the much-loved flying creatures that captured the imaginations of kids young and old in the original Avatar film. Here for the price of $50 guests are able to choose their own Banshees to care for. Visitors will work alongside a Cast Member who will help each guest select a banshee that’s just right for them. They then take the Banshee Pledge before walking away with their new pet.

There are a wide range of Pandora themed park essentials to chose from including t-shirts, lanyards and shopping bags. In a tribute to the Na’vi, guests can also purchase ears, tails, hooded jackets and cultural items that allow them to dress up as the blue indigenous creatures that call Pandora home.

There’s also a Bead Bar where visitors can design personalized Na’vi necklaces using an eclectic array of beads and feathers.

Those wanting to speak like a Na’vi will also find pocket language translators available. These devices use a series of cards to translate common English words into their Na’vi counterparts. Each translator kit comes with 15 cards, and more are available for purchase. So not only will you have an amazing time at Pandora but you can walk away fluent in the Na’vi language.

In another treat that’s perfect for Avatar-lovers, guests can even become their own avatars at the Ace Avatar Maker which is also be found on the premises. Using a digital process, cast members will take an image of your likeness and add it to a custom action figure, creating your every own replica avatar. Definitely something to wow your friends.

We are just 2 days away from the opening of the newest attraction “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission : Breakout!” at Disney California Adventure park. This new adventure takes guests straight into the Guardians of the Galaxy story. You’ll join up with Rocket on a rescue mission to save the Guardians from the top of the Collector’s fortress.

Tonight #DisneyParksLIVE is streaming the Grand Opening Celebration! Head to the Disney Parks Blog page and they will post a new article with a link to the live feed.

Weigh The Anchor! “Pirate Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” Movie Review Is Here!

Pirates five, people! Are you ready for more Jack Sparrow? I don’t know about you, but I’m always ready for more Jack Sparrow! I got the opportunity to go to the press screening of Pirates the other day and it’s a wonderful day to kick off the summer!

Directed by the team behind “Kon Tiki,” Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, the film is exciting and breath-taking. Written by Jeff Nathanson it’s starts kind of surprising with the choices of our favorite pirate character. It was a little worrisome, but it’s explained and understandable (trying so hard not to spoil).

The cast the incredible – and not just because they’re incredible actors, the choices they made are incredible. Johnny Depp gives his familiar Sparrow performance, and of course, does not disappoint. Geoffrey Rush’s Barbosa is probably the most surprising. The character arch seems as if it’s usual and then…. I just can’t say. I believe the most satisfying character was Javier Bardem’s Salazar, frightening and sad – you feel his pain, but are scared of his presence. Brenton Thwaites (Henry Turner) and Kaya Scodelario (Carina Smith) are the star-crossed lovers this time around. Although their relationship is sweet I felt more drawn to Carina and understood her, than I did Henry – but that could just be me.

The effects, again, are the usual Pirates flair. Practical and computer generated, I’ll be surprised if there isn’t a nomination for them. Those, working in unison with Paul Cameron’s camera work, is so exciting and makes for some edge of your seat viewing. Fight scenes and chase scene are just unbelievable.

One word of warning I will say, this Pirates is much more violent than the previous ones. I was rather surprised by the violence and would recommend viewing it once to determine whether your little pirate or lass is old enough to watch it.

All in all – go watch “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales!” It’s a summer pirates movie, and those are always fun, and that’s what this is – fun. Lastly, I do gotta say, say until after the credits, there’s one last scene at the very end!

To celebrate the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!, Disney California Adventure Park is dubbing this the Summer of Heroes. In addition to this exciting new headlining attraction will be new character encounters including a chance to meet Groot, a Guardians of the Galaxy Dance Off and more. Connect to Protect While Visiting Pandora – The World of Avatar

For nineteen years, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been inspiring families to connect with nature. Today, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and the Disney Conservation Fund announced ‘Connect to Protect,’ in celebration of the grand opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Connect to Protect is a commitment of up to $1 million to protect and restore the habitats of 10 at-risk animals; and you have the ability to help.

“Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is thrilled to open Pandora – the World of Avatar, and to celebrate this milestone, we’re asking our Guests to help us protect the environment,” said Bob Chapek, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “Their participation will unlock up to $1 million in contributions to protect and restore the habitats of 10 at-risk animals.”

You can help reach the full $1 million contribution, when you journey to Pandora on your next Walt Disney World vacation. While entering the immersive world of Pandora, guests will be invited, via Facebook Messenger, to complete multiple ‘missions.’

The missions are run by Pandora’s digital ecological specialist, Fitsimti Buckey, or “Fits” for short. Just for taking the time to discuss conservation with Fits, you will unlock a $5 contribution to be made through the Disney Conservation Fund. If you choose to complete one or more of the missions, you’ll unlock a $10 contribution. A really neat fact about the contributions, once you unlock the $5 or $10 you get to decide how your contribution will help protect and restore the habitats of one of the ten categories of threatened animals: apes, elephants, butterflies, coral reefs, cranes, monkeys, rhinos, sea turtles, sharks/ray, and tigers. (up to $100,000 per animal)

In 2016 Disney Conservation Fund announced “Reverse the Decline, Increase the Time” teaming up with non-profit organizations to help threatened wildlife and inspire a lifelong love of nature in young people. Below is a list of the organizations that will receive the contributions from the Connect to Protect program:

The Edison – Joining Their 1901 Club and A Possible Dress Code Enforcement

Today I wanted to bring you a few updates on The Edison at Disney Springs. We still don’t have an exact opening date (Fall 2017) but an invitation has been sent out to join their Edison 1901 Club. Once signed up you’ll receive exclusive invitations to preview events and tastings. You’ll also be the first to receive their monthly entertainment calendars. The Edison has been billed as a lavish “Industrial Gothic”-style restaurant, bar, and nighttime destination. Some of the entertainment will include contortionists, palm readers, DJs and more. This venue themed to a 1920’s-period electric company, will be separated into areas such as “The Patent Office”, “The Radio Room”, and “The Tesla Lounge”.

One of the topics that has been floating around revolves around dress code. Disney has said, “Similar to its sister location on the west coast, The Edison at Disney Springs will be dedicated to a resurgence of old-world style, sophistication and romance.” The question remains on how similar these two locations will be.

The above image is the Dress Code Policy for the Los Angeles location of The Edison. These requirements are very similar to the official dress code for Disney’s Signature Dining locations except for the footwear requirements which is only enforced at Victoria and Albert’s. Will these same rules apply to the Disney Springs location of The Edison?

Toy Story Land Construction in Hollywood Studios Showing Progress

Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is showing progress! Today Chip and Co. was at the park and shared a few construction photos:

Toy Story Land is an 11-acre area located adjacent to Toy Story Mania. This new land will offer an oversized perspective of Andy’s backyard including gigantic building blocks and game pieces as well as your favorite Toy Story characters. Highlights of the area include Slinky Dog, a brand new family roller coaster that Andy has built all over his backyard using his Mega Coaster Play Kit. The second all-new attraction in Toy Story Land will be Alien Swirling Saucers. This attraction is designed as a toy play set that Andy got from Pizza Planet, inspired by the first Toy Story film.

As we shared with you earlier today, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced that Disney will be releasing the opening date of Toy Story Land at this year’s D23 Expo! The new opening date is anticipated to take place in 2018.

The 2017 D23 Expo is scheduled for July 14-16, 2017. Chip and Co. will be announcing all the big news from the event.

Walt Disney World President Hosts Summer Preview Media Event

Guests in town for the Pandora – The World of Avatar media event were in for a special treat this morning as President of Walt Disney World, George Kalogridis gave a special Summer Blockbuster Preview highlighting many of the amazing new attractions and developments coming to Walt Disney World resort in 2017 and beyond.

Some of the highlights mentioned during this 20 minute talk include:

The Opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar – The creation of this new land has brought over 1500 new jobs to the Orlando area. In addition a new Connect to Protect initiative will allow guests who engage with Disney via Facebook while at Pandora to raise funds for conservation efforts. Finally, in the parks ongoing commitment to support charities, the Boys and Girls Club will be treated to a special Pandora preview on March 26, 2017.

Toy Story Land – This exciting new expansion at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is already taking shape and will include 11 delightful acres designed to scale to make guests feel toy-sized. The setting for this new land is Andy’s backyard and will feature the Slinky Dog Dash family coaster as well as an attraction devoted to everyone’s favorite little green aliens.

Star Wars-themed Land – The second fantastic expansion destined to wow guests at Hollywood Studios in years ahead is also under construction and will be 14 acres in size meaning Star Wars and Toy Story lands combined will bring an additional 25 acres of fun to this theme park.

Happily Ever After – Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime spectacular is already winning over crowds with its amazing blend of castle projections, special effects and pyrotechnics. But, did you know that when it came to coming up with the footage for the movie projections that many of the original animators for the films had to be brought back in to create bespoke clips for the show?

Cruz Ramirez from Cars 3 to Appear at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – A special treat for Cars fans, one of the stars of the upcoming Cars 3 film will be appearing for a meet-and-greets at Hollywood Studios starting this Summer. Locations and times have yet to be announced.

2017 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival – The Summer will end on a delicious note with the August 31st start of the Food & Wine Festival which will be bigger than every with a whopping 75 days of culinary delights.

Epcot International Festival of the Arts to Return in 2018 – Early in 2017, guests at Epcot were treated to the newest festival on Epcot’s line-up. The International Festival of the Arts was a full-of-life celebration of the magic and artistry of Disney including musical theater, cinema and the visual arts. Disney was pleased to announce that the Festival will be continued with new dates soon to be released for 2018.

Upgrades to Themed Resort Hotels – This year will also see the re-vamping of two of Disney’s much-love Moderate Resorts, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Changes to the Caribbean include new waterfront dining options as well as shops. The Coronado Springs project includes the construction of at hotel tower which will feature a wide array of stunning amenities including rooftop dining. The rooms at the Coronado will also be refurbished.

Exciting Openings at Disney Springs – In the months ahead, Disney Springs will mark the opening of the Wine Bar George as well as steampunk-themed nightclub The Edison. In addition the United World of Soccer is undergoing a re-brand to Pele’s World of Soccer.

The Music of Pixar Live! A Symphony of Characters – Opening at Hollywood Studios this weekend is a limited-time Summer concert that pairs the much-loved scores from favorite Disney • Pixar films including: The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. Up and Toy Story with a live symphony orchestra for an experience like no other. The production will run in tandem with Beauty and the Beast at the Theater of the Stars.
