A Miami/Orlando Route Makes Hyperloop One's List of Finalists

Hyperloop One’s high spesd rail will be a game changer for Walt Disney World fans living in South Florida. Imagine being able to travel from Miami to Orlando in under 30 minutes. Soon a high speed rail route that would allow commuters to travel 257 miles between Orlando and Miami in just 26 minutes may become a reality.

A Miami/Orlando Route Makes Hyperloop One's List of Finalists

Officials with Hyperloop One placed the Florida route on a list of 10 that had cleared an initial proposal review. Each of the cities will now receive resources to help develop feasibility studies for the regions. Testing for the electric-powered train which travels at more than 750 mph is scheduled for later this year. Hyperloop One hopes to have the vehicles ready to ship cargo by 2020 and passengers by 2021. Click HERE to take a look.

Even though Halloween doesn’t arrive until next month, celebrations are already underway at several Disney Parks. Guests on the East Coast can currently celebrate the spooky season at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Over on the West Coast, Halloween Time just began and is bigger and better than ever with celebrations happening in both Disneyland and California Adventure Parks!

To celebrate Halloween 2017, Disney Parks Merchandise created new artwork for its annual collection of Halloween-themed goods. Dave Keefer, principal designer with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group, recently gave the inside scoop about these colorful new designs.

“This year’s Halloween art was inspired by Halloween images and graphics from the 1960s,” explains Dave. “We used bold graphics with lots of bright colors. Guests will also find familiar Halloween icons, such as pumpkins, bats, and black cats, hidden throughout the art. I love how the artwork captures the Disney characters enjoying the spirit of this spooky season.”

For the artwork this year, each Disney character was given a unique color – Mickey Mouse has red hues while Minnie Mouse is bathed in purple. These colors are best seen in the cameo pin collection, select apparel, or the Halloween-themed bangles by Alex and Ani.

Guests will find several returning favorite items including a pumpkin-shaped mug; a towel set; and an updated Halloween countdown clock with Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed in their Halloween best.

New items include a fun, foam wall décor of Mickey Mouse holding a “Trick or Treat” sign; colorful headbands that light-up; and a soft pumpkin-shaped treat bag that glows in the dark.

These items and more are available in a variety of merchandise locations throughout Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. Select items are also found via the Shop Disney Parks app or the Disney online store.

You know what I can never have enough of? Yup, you guessed it, Minnie Ears! With the Disney Halloween parties in full swing, and the fall weather around the corner, I also can’t get enough of the wonderful Halloween and Fall accessories I keep seeing! These Minnie Witch Mouse Ears from Small World Stitches are no exception!

These are a lightweight embroidered style of ears, that are super comfortable! These spooky beauties are a super shimmery orange glitter, with a dappling of Minnie’s signature polka-dots. They are topped off with a mini glitter witch hat, that is just too adorable. This is one of my favorite type of Minnie Ears to wear for when I do a pony tail or up do as well. These are all handmade to order, so each pair is made especially for you! If you’re a villains lover, be sure to check out their glow in the dark poison apple ears too! Of course not everyone can make it for Halloween at Disney, but there are lots of other great ear styles available too! Spoiler alert, lots of snack themed ones!

Frozen starts its pre-Broadway run beginning this evening at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and will run through until October 1, 2017. Following this inaugural run Frozen will join the ranks of other Disney Theatrical Releases Aladdin and The Lion King with preview performances starting at the St. James on Thursday, Feburary 22, 2018 and an official Broadway opening on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

DuckTales Theme Song Gets an Adorable ‘As Told by Emoji’ Makeover

In celebration of the upcoming premiere of DuckTales on Disney XD, As Told By Emoji is back with an all new episode. The latest episode is an Emoji-fied take on the iconic DuckTales theme song. Watch as Dewey attempts to rewrite history by editing a “Wingipedia” page, while Mrs. Beakley waves a web-footed ‘goodbye.’

DuckTales is the 21st episode to debut in the “As Told by Emoji” series, which brings Disney stories to a new generation through digital platforms. The popular series has been translated into 25 languages and has reached over 125 million views across platforms since debuting in 2015.

Coinciding with the original series 30th anniversary, the new animated DuckTales series on Disney XD will debut with two new episodes Saturday, Sept. 23 (7:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 10:30 p.m. EDT/PDT). Each will also be available on the Disney XD app and Disney XD VOD on these same dates.

The DuckTales adventures continue on Club Penguin Island in the latest update featuring quacky styles from the series. Club Penguin Island Members can purchase and wear costumes of some of their favorite DuckTales characters. Download Club Penguin Island here.

Four Disney Cruise Line Ports-of-call Closed Indefinitely

Hurricane Irma ripped through the Caribbean and Florida leaving billions and billions dollars worth of devastation and destruction in its aftermath. Some of the islands hit most hard are ports-of-call for Disney Cruises. Four of these ports-of-call have been closed indefinitely and may not reopen for weeks or even months.

The four ports are:

Key West
St. Marteen
St. Thomas
Tortola

Other Disney Cruise Line Caribbean ports either experienced no impact from the storm or just a little damage and remain open. Disney has adjusted the Disney Fantasy’s Eastern Caribbean sailings for September 23 and October 7 to now visit Western Caribbean ports. All other scheduled cruises will go on as planned with no adjustments to their itineraries.

This morning, Hollywood Studios debuted some amazing new displays at Walt Disney Presents (the re-imagined version of the One Man’s Dream attraction). Guests can now view elaborate depictions of Disney Parks past, present, and future!

Toy Story Land Models Now On Display At Hollywood Studios

One of the most exciting things on display is the brand new model of the Toy Story Land expansion happening at Hollywood Studios. It is being showcased for guests to view starting today.

Opening Summer of 2018, Toy Story Land will shrink guests to the size of a toy and explore all of the fun in Andy’s backyard. The pictures in this article show how detailed and creative the Imagineers have been developing the familiar toys and sights from the “Toy Story” films. The two new major attractions, Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers, look amazing!

Toy Story Land Models Now On Display At Hollywood Studios

The Imagineers tell us that the Slinky Dog Dash attraction was themed as if Andy himself used his Mega Coaster Paly Kit to build the ultimate coaster for Slinky. The new attraction will be a coaster that the whole family can enjoy. The second attraction, Alien Swirling Saucers, will have Aliens flying around in their toy flying saucers and trying to capture guests’ rocket toy vehicles with “The Claw”. It was designed as toy play set that Andy brought home from Pizza Planet.

Toy Story Land Models Now On Display At Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney Presents doesn’t just have models for the future Toy Story Land to show off. It also has some amazing displays of Walt Disney’s history including his beginning sketches, photos and storyboards, the attraction celebrates milestones in Disney film and theme park history up through today and beyond.

Stay tuned as more models, maquettes, sketches, artist renderings, a portion of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge model, concept art for the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction will be on display soon too!

You can still also meet your favorite Guardians of the Galaxy heroes Star-Lord and baby Groot and see special sneak previews of upcoming Disney films at Walt Disney Presents too.

Last year, I had the chance to stop by Disney Springs during the holiday season. It was simply a truly magical experience. Between the decorations, Christmas trees, shopping, and eating, it was definitely a memorable day. It was also the perfect way to create new traditions with my family as there was something for everyone to do.

The secret is out. Disney Springs has the most complete collection of Disney-inspired products anywhere! Because of that, it’s where I’ll be starting my holiday shopping this year. From the awesome collections at the LEGO store or Star Wars Outpost, to the perfect plush toys at World of Disney – with over 50,000 items, it’s the world’s largest assortment of Disney merchandise. Family and friends will love one-of-a-kind gifts from Sugarboo & Co., and jewelry from PANDORA is always a hit. For the fashionistas in your life, UNIQLO and Francesca’s delight without breaking the bank. (And I think we can all agree that these fantastic finds are sure to have earned you a cupcake from Sprinkles, right?)

As we previously reported, the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is getting a temporary overhaul for Halloween Time at California Adventure. Once the sun goes down, the ride will magically turn into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark!

Here’s a little more about the temporary nighttime adventure on the Guardians ride:

While escaping The Collector’s Fortress, the Guardians have accidentally left Groot behind, so Rocket needs your help to find and rescue his little buddy. But along with the creatures that have been accidentally released inside The Collector’s Fortress, one terrifying monster you will encounter is Surtur’s Fire Dragon, seen in the artist’s rendering above from Walt Disney Imagineering. This terrifying monster will also appear in the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok” in theaters on November 3.

VIDEO: Ellen Wants Her Universe of Energy Robot Back!

Ellen was the star of the now-closed Universe of Energy attraction at Epcot. We all know that ride closed last month to pave the way for the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction. When the ride was closed, Ellen’s dinosaur-fighting animatronic was removed. Well, Ellen is on a mission to get that animatronic!

She said on her show this week that she would love for the robot to host her show “when she ins’t feeling well and when she is feeling well.” She is hoping someone at Disney can track down her animatronic twin and get it back into her hands ASAP.
