Cast Members at Disney’s Animal Kingdom enjoy one final night of fun on now-extinct DinoLand USA attractions
As the sun sets on an era at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, cast members gathered to bid a heartfelt farewell to DinoLand U.S.A., marking the end of a beloved chapter in the park’s history. Images shared on the Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook page captured the bittersweet moments, as cast members enjoyed one final ride on TriceraTop Spin and shared laughs during one last round of the Fossil Fun Games.

Half of DinoLand U.S.A., including TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, and the Fossil Fun Games, has officially closed its doors. These closures pave the way for the much-anticipated transformation of the land into Tropical Americas, a vibrant new area that promises to bring fresh excitement to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While the refurbishment begins, the other half of DinoLand, including the iconic DINOSAUR attraction and Restaurantosaurus, is expected to remain open through the end of 2025.
Tropical Americas is set to debut in 2027, which will bring attractions to the park themed after both Indiana Jones and Encanto. The expansion will see the overhaul of DINOSAUR into an Indiana Jones Themed Ride. The DINOSAUR ride at Animal Kingdom contains the same ride system as the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland.

The farewell to DinoLand U.S.A. marks the end of a quirky and nostalgic land that has brought smiles to countless guests over the years. For cast members and fans alike, the memories of its carnival games, whimsical rides, and playful theming will hold a special place in Disney history. As the countdown to Tropical Americas begins, the spirit of DinoLand lives on in the hearts of those who experienced its charm.
The Orange Garage at Disney Springs is undergoing a refurbishment
Visitors to Disney Springs should plan ahead, as refurbishment work has begun on the Orange Garage. This project aims to improve the lighting throughout the parking structure, ensuring a better and safer experience for guests. However, the work will require temporary closures of levels 3, 4, and 5 at various times, potentially impacting parking availability.
Guests are encouraged to consider alternative options, such as the Lime and Grapefruit garages, or the surface lots, which remain unaffected during the project. These options offer convenient access to Disney Springs, ensuring minimal disruption for those visiting the popular dining, shopping, and entertainment destination.
The Orange Garage, the first parking structure to open at Disney Springs in 2014, has long been a favorite for its direct access to the West Side and Town Center areas. Featuring five levels and advanced parking technology, including sensors to indicate open spaces that map to signage which displays the number of open spots on each level, the garage has played a pivotal role in Disney Springs’ transformation from Downtown Disney into a world-class destination.
While the exact timeline for the refurbishment has not been disclosed, the upgrades promise a brighter and more enjoyable parking experience for years to come. Visitors should stay tuned for updates and allow extra time to park during this period of improvement.

Disney has yet to announce additional details regarding the new show. However, based on the role description and the location of the Disney Theatre (Disney Theater on the digital maps on Disneyland.com), it’s possible that this new show could be an update to “Disney Jr. Dance Party,” located in Hollywood Land.
Could this be a new twist on “Disney Jr. Dance Party”? The show currently features a DJ who gets the little ones moving and grooving to music from their favorite Disney Jr. shows. However, official confirmation from Disneyland is still pending.
Construction Walls go up around DinoLand U.S.A. for Tropical Americas Expansion
Most of DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is now closed off by construction walls and barriers as the park readies for the Tropical Americas expansion.
Hedges on wheels now surround Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, including the attraction, TriceraTop Spin. You can still see the huge dinosaur and the attractions behind the walls/hedges, but the area is now permanently closed.
Part of the barrier is actual construction walls painted in Disney’s “go-away green” color. A couple of signs hang on the walls. One says “Squirrel!” and features Dug from Pixar’s “Up” and the other “Change is Good” featuring Rafiki from “The Lion King”.
The Boneyard remains open for guests to explore, along with the thrilling DINOSAUR attraction, Restaurantosaurus for dining, and opportunities to meet beloved Disney characters.
The entire land is slated for a complete reimagining into the “Tropical Americas”. The ambitious plans include an exhilarating Indiana Jones adventure, a charming carousel featuring intricately carved Disney animals, and a groundbreaking ride-through attraction inspired by the enchanting world of “Encanto.”
