Disneyland Paris Shares Sneak Peek of Half Marathon Weekend Medals

Disneyland Paris Resort’s Val d’Europe Half Marathon weekend will be happening this Fall from September 21 -24th. Highlights of the weekend include a 6.2 mile 10K that will take runners through Disneyland Paris Resort where they’ll encounter a few surprises including characters and entertainment. There’s also the Disneyland Paris 5K which will be taking place at night giving runners the chance to see Hollywood Boulevard including The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror lit up at night.

Runners will also have a chance to get their hands on some fantastic new medals which Disney has recently revealed.

First is the runDisney Kids Races medal which features Mickey Mouse. You also have the 5K medal feature Lumiere from “Beauty and The Beast.” The 5K medallion features Flora, Fauna and Merryweather flying past Sleeping Beauty Castle while the half marathon medal has a sapphire backdrop and features MickeyMouse and the castle.

In addition Disney is introducing the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Challenge for runners who complete both the 10k and the half marathon. They will receive a third medal that features Cinderella’s Coach.

The final medal in this gorgeous line-up is the very special and highly coveted Castle to Château Challenge medal. This is awarded to all runners who have participated in the Disneyland Paris half marathon AND either a half marathon or marathon at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort in the same calendar year.

Everything You Need to Know About Walt Disney World 2018 Package Release and Discounts for 2017

As we all know, packages for 2018 will be available for booking this Tuesday, June 20, 2017! With that important date right around the corner, we just wanted to address some of the specifics about the upcoming release.

When 2018 packages open up on the morning of June 20, 2017 for booking, you will only be able to book a package 499 days in advance. This means if you want to book a trip with an arrival date of November 1, 2018, you will be able to on June 20, 2017. However, if you want to book a trip with an arrival date of November 2, 2018, you will have to wait until June 21, 2017 and so on.
Military discounts are not available on packages on their initial release date. Historically, we do not see military rates available until late summer/early Fall. Last year military rates for 2017 were released on September 28, 2016 so we should expect to see them around the same time this year.
All it takes is a $200 deposit to reserve your package. Then you have up until 30 days prior to your arrival date to pay off the balance.

If you are still wanting to plan a trip to Walt Disney World this year, there are some offers available but rooms are EXTREMELY limited for some of them.

Summer Package/Room Offer: If you are wanting to take a trip to Disney for this summer, you are in luck! The last day to book a room or package with this offer is July 14, 2017 with travel dates from now until August 31, 2017. I have seen several rooms available with this offer especially as we get to dates later in the summer.
Free Delicious (Dining) Offer: This is the most popular discount available year after year. The last day to book a room with this discount for this year is July 7, 2017. There is very little still available for this discount but I have personally seen some availability towards the end of August/early September.
Enchanted Escape Package Room/Offer: Like the Free Dining Offer, rooms are very limited for this one. The last day to book to take advantage of this offer is August 31, 2017 with arrival dates from August 13, 2017 to October 5, 2017.

Another popular question I receive around this time of the year is when “Late Fall Discounts” will be issued. Historically, these discounts are released around the beginning of August. Last year, this discount was released August 8, 2016. If/when issued for this year, I would imagine it to be issued around the same time if not a bit earlier. Of course, we can never guarantee a discount until it is officially announced by Disney. I advise my clients to book with a rate you are comfortable with and then if a discount should become available, it’s like a cherry on top!

Tom Sawyer Island Is Back in Business at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the classic attraction, Tom Sawyer Island, re-opened to visitors on Friday, June 16th. The Island closed in January of 2016 as part of a large expansion that included rerouting the Rivers of America, creating Star Wars Land and tidying up the Disneyland Railroad tracks.

Those paying a visit to Disneyland this Summer will also be pleased to know that much-loved evening spectacular Fantasmic! is slated to start performances again beginning on July 17th. Also on July 29th, the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes will re-open as will the Mark Twain Riverboat, Columbia Sailing Ship and the Disneyland Railroad!

This Charming Happily Ever After Fireworks Inspired Tee is Golden

I was in absolute awe when I saw the newest firework show at Magic Kingdom “Happily Ever After”. I honestly had tears in my eyes, and can’t stop thinking about the song. Easter Eggs in ‘Cars 3’

WARNING: Minor spoilers ahead!

As with all Pixar Movies, you can expect to find some “Easter Eggs” and references to other movies. Cars 3 is no exception! Let’s take a closer look at all the extra fun hidden inside this new Pixar movie.

Cinderella

As mentioned, most Pixar movies reference other movies. Cars 3 goes beyond a reference and actually pays tribute to the classic Cinderella, per director Brian Fee.

Fee says, “Cinderella’s chariot in Sterling’s office. He’s got this back wall. He’s got a bunch of trophies. And what I love about it is it’s…technically it’s a Batmobile. It’s so…it’s like, of course, in some weird way, it like fits for some reason. I know it’s one of my favorites.”

Coco

Even though Coco is not set to hit theaters until November 22, references of it are not left out of Cars 3. Look for references on the TV in the training center and another when Sweet Tea takes the stage.

Look closely at the guitar:

The Pizza Planet Truck

Every Toy Story fan knows this iconic truck and has seen it show up in various other Pixar movies. Viewers can also expect it to show up Cars 3 during the demolition derby scene.

A113

If you did not already know, room A113 is actually the classroom number at the California Institute of the Arts where several Pixar animators got their start. This room number is referenced in just about every Pixar movie there is. Expect to see it on the office door in Cars 3 when Lightning McQueen goes in to speak with Sterling.

Extra Magic Hours added to Animal Kingdom Calendar Every Night Between Now and August 19th

Disney wants to make sure everyone gets a chance to visit Pandora. Updates to the Disney parks calendar reveal Extra Magic Hours Every night up until August 19th. And it makes since to add them at night so guests can see Pandora – The World of avatar come alive at night with its bioluminescent glow.

This will no doubt help with crowds while visiting Animal Kingdom’s newest addition, Pandora – The World of Avatar.

The nighttime Extra Magic Hours added are 10pm-12am.

It’s unknown if the Extra Magic Hours are for all of Disney’s Animal Kingdom or just Pandora. If I had to guess I would say just Pandora. However, we will definitely keep you updated.

The Full Cast of Broadway’s Frozen Has Been Announced

In 2013 Disney’s Frozen took the world by storm, teaching young girls everywhere that you don’t need a handsome prince to know true love. The animated musical earned two Academy Awards, ranks as the highest-grossing animated film of all time, and sparked an entirely new ride attraction at Epcot in Walt Disney World. So it comes as no surprise that in Spring 2018 Frozen will be hitting Broadway at the St. James Theatre.

A few months ago we announced some of the cast for Disney’s Frozen the Broadway Musical:

Caissie Levy – Elsa
Patti Murin – Anna
Jelani Alladin – Kristoff
John Riddle – Hans
Greg Hildreth – Olaf
Robert Creighton – Duke of Welselton

The rest of the cast has now been announced! Let’s meet the rest of the talent that will be bringing Frozen to life, on the Broadway stage:

Audrey Bennett & Mattea Conforti – Audrey and Mattea will be sharing the role of Young Anna. Both girls have already seen the Broadway stage, Mattea was in Sunday in the Park with George, and held the leading role of Matilda in Matilda The Musical; while Audrey played a Young Amélie in Amélie.
Brooklyn Nelson & Ayla Schwartz – Brooklyn and Ayla will be sharing the role of Young Elsa. This will be Ayla’s first Broadway appearance, Brooklyn appeared in Broadway’s Matilda.
Alyssa Fox– Alyssa is the Elsa Standby. Alyssa was the Elphaba standby in Broadway’s Wicked.
Aisha Jackson– Aisha is no new-comer to the stage, she appeared in Broadway’s Waitress and Beautiful The Carole King Musical.
Kevin Del Aguila – Kevin will be playing Oaken. Fun fact: he voiced a Troll in the original Frozen movie! Kevin also played Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher, on Broadway.
Timothy Hughes – Timothy will be playing Pabbie, the elder healing Troll.
Andre Pirozzi – Andrew will be making his Broadway debut as the lovable reindeer, Sven!

The magical cast wouldn’t be complete without the talent from these additional actors:
