Disneyland Resort Slowly Introducing Changes to FastPass System

Disneyland Resort Slowly Introducing Changes to FastPass System

We reported late last year that the FastPass System at Disneyland was in for some changes with plans to introduce a new service called MaxPass .   This new $10 a day service allows visitors to make FastPass reservations directly from the Disneyland App rather than having to make a mad dash to the various FastPass locations to stock up.  The$10 fee to use the service is per person however, Disney has said that one person will be able to manage the reservations for an entire party using the app.  The MaxPass will also include a PhotoPass service that will offer guests downloads of  photos taken during their time at the parks.

In preparation for the new MaxPass system, Disney is making some changes to the current system beginning June 21st.  From this date forward, guests will still have to go to the usual FastPass locations to pick up their paper tickets but the way that they will be redeemed is changing.  According to a post by Laughing Place, guests, instead of having their printed FastPasses scanned in order to gain access to the attraction will instead have their ticket or Annual Pass scanned instead.   The paper FastPasses are intended to serve merely as a reminder of the times that guests should show up for the attraction.

This marks one of the first steps the Disneyland Resort will be taking in 2017 allowing them to move toward the new MaxPass system.   Readers are encouraged to  watch this space for the latest Disneyland news and updates.

Overturned car accident near Disney Springs

Just a few moments ago an accident happened on Buena Vista Dr in Disney Springs resulting in an overturned vehicle.

According to eye witness @OurFLProject,  many people ran to help the driver and passenger of the vehicle till Emergency Crews arrived on the scene. The passenger just had cuts but the driver seemed unconscious.

Presently parts of the vehicle are scattered all over the road on Buena Vista Dr.

We hope the driver and passenger are ok.

All Levels Of Uber And Lyft Could Start Picking Up At Orlando Airport As Early As July

Orlando Airport

Orlando Airport - Uber and Lyft

Starting as early as July 1st, visitors landing at the Orlando airport could see a lot more transportation options. A new bill was signed by Florida Governor Rick Scott last month that would allow ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft to pick passengers up from the Orlando International Airport.

Currently, travelers have the option to use taxis or Uber Premium services (Uber SELECT and Uber SELECTXL) to pick them up at the airport. As of right now, Lyft is prohibited from picking up at the Orlando Airport but they can drop-off passengers. Once the bill goes into effect Lyft and all levels of Uber will have the same opportunities.

Uber and Lyft have become very popular over the years as they have introduced a more cost-effective means of public transportation. The images above shows a comparison of taking Uber vs. a taxi from EPCOT to the Orlando Airport. The top image shows the price of a Mears taxi and the bottom image shows the different price levels for Uber.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday to discuss new rules for ride sharing companies before making a vote. Among the topics to be discussed will be pickup locations and the airport’s intended pick-up charge for ride-shared cars.

Currently, Uber Premium passengers are picked up on Level 1 (Express Pickup Terminal). It is proposed that starting in July, Uber and Lyft will pick passengers up on Level 2.

The Orlando Airport’s intended pick-up charge for ride-sharing cars will be a heated topic at the public hearing. The proposed amount is $5.80 for each ride-share pickup which is the same amount charged for pre-arranged taxi rides. Taxis who pick up fares on-demand are charged $3.30. These charges may be passed on to the passenger which could effect cost savings of choosing companies like Uber and Lyft.

Do you use ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft when you travel? Will you be using them on your next trip to Orlando?

Carrie Fisher’s Autopsy Results Released

autospy results

Per the autopsy report released Friday, Carrie Fisher apparently died from sleep apnea along with a combination of other factors such as a buildup of fatty tissue in her arteries. However, the report issued by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office is inconclusive of what actually caused her death.

Fisher was on a flight December 23 when she suffered from a massive heart attack. She later died on December 27. Her mom, Debbie Reynolds, passed away the next day.

The release by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office also said that there were signs of drug use. However, it is unconfirmed if that actually led to her death. A toxicology report was not released by the bureau.

Fisher never denied her frequent use of drugs. Many of the drugs that she used were prescription medications prescribed by her doctors to treat her mental illness.

Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, said, “I am not shocked that part of her health was affected by drugs.” He went on to say that his sister suffered from a heart condition and that was exacerbated by her smoking and prescription drug use. “If you want to know what killed her, it’s all of it,” Todd Fisher said.

Todd Fisher also said they couldn’t blame the doctors for her death because they were just trying to help her. “They were doing their best to cure a mental disorder. Can you really blame them?” Todd Fisher said. “Without her drugs, maybe she would have left long ago.”

Carrie Fisher was 60 years old when she passed on December 27. She is well remembered for her role in Star Wars among other popular films.

We have all been there before, that feeling of just wanting to breakdown and have a good cry when it is time to leave Disney. Apparently this cute little one did just that. Update to Star Wars Stage Show Plus Random Star Wars Character Meet and Greets at Hollywood Studios

Update to Star Wars Stage Show Plus Random Star Wars Character Meet and Greets at Hollywood Studios

As we previously reported, a new mobile stage was being put in place for the Star Wars Galaxy Far Far Away Stage Show. Today, we are hearing on the Disney Forums that this idea has been scrapped due to some issues and the old stage will be back for performances starting again on July 2nd.

With the Star Wars Galaxy Far Far Away Stage Show not in operation right now random characters are wandering around the empty stage area in front of the Great Movie Ride.

https://twitter.com/lullabiestyler/status/876107391196160003

We are unsure at this time if Disney will revisit the idea of the mobile stage in the future. There are also rumors that additional Star Wars Characters will be available for random Meet and Greets at Hollywood Studios in the near future.

As always nothing is official till Disney says it is.

Have you seen any Star Wars Characters wondering the streets of Hollywood Studios? If so, please share your photos with us!

Photos of Completed Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Room Refurbishment

Pop Century

Pop Century

I am super excited about the ongoing room refurbishment at Disney’s Pop Century Resort! My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary in Walt Disney World and stayed at Pop Century, so it holds a special place in my heart. While I love the value of Pop, the rooms were definitely in need of an upgrade! WDW Today tweeted this photo of a fully finished room:

(please be patient while tweet loads)

https://twitter.com/WDWToday/status/875774989244534785

I am absolutely loving the new changes! The serene blue walls and pocket doors in the bathroom really brighten up the room and give it a more open feel. As someone who frequents the Value Resorts, I am SO incredibly happy the have upgraded one of the beds to a Queen size. Going from sharing a king at home, to squeezing into a full size isn’t the easiest transition.

The switch has prompted Disney to make the second bed into a full size murphy bed, which is a great way to give you more space in the room; just fold the bed into the wall! I am really digging the all around modern vibe but, I especially love the new flooring. Out with the carpet, in with the laminate wood, I bet that will be much easier to keep clean!

What do you think of the Disney’s Pop Century Resort room upgrades?

Sassy Not Everyone Likes Bows Minnie Mouse Mug

Not Everyone Likes Bows Minnie Mouse Mug

I really do love a morning cup of coffee in a Disney themed mug when I wake up. I’m also a fan of quirky and sassy quotes or themes too. This Not Everyone Likes Bows Minnie Mouse MugSassy Not Everyone Likes Bows Minnie Mouse Mug, definetly gives me a giggle, and that’s exactly what I need when I’m having a cranky morning.

Although this mug comes in a simple white, grey, or black, the classic Minnie bow is enough to win me over. However upon reading the quote on the mug, I giggled and thought yes, this is exactly how I feel some mornings. The quote reads “Not Everyone One Likes Bows, But Not Everyone Matters”. Of course I love even my non Disney loving friends and family, but this playful and sassy way of saying Disney or Bust for me!

Would you enjoy a morning cup of coffee with this Not Everyone Likes Bows Minnie Mouse Mug?
