Dining Reservations Now Available for MNSSHP & MVMCP (but there is a trick to finding them!)

Reservations opened today for dining reservations during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Restaurants accepting reservations during party hours are Be Our Guest Restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table and The Crystal Palace

But WAIT! There is a trick to finding the open reservation times online. If you are just searching the specific restaurant for a reservation you may very well overlook available times. Open dining reservations are listed not under the specific restaurant but under new pages entitled “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Dining” and “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dining.” The easiest way I found to search online was to just filter my dining search to “Magic Kingdom” and the party dining listing will appear. This method will show all available reservations within the Magic Kingdom on the date and time you are searching.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Dates:

August 25 and 29
September 1, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29
October 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 31
November 1

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dates:

November 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 26, 28
December 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17 ,19, 21, 22

Reservations for the frightfully fun HalloWishes Dessert Party and festive Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party are also now available. The cost for either of these dessert parties is $79 plus tax per adults and $47 plus tax per child.

Reservations for either dining or dessert parties can be made by visiting DisneyWorld.com/dining or by calling 407-WDW-DINE. To make dining or dessert party reservations that take place during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you must have a valid event ticket for that night.

Is a New Resort Coming to Walt Disney World?

It is I, Anonymouse, back with some interesting resort gossip coming out of Walt Disney World. Orlando Theme Park News is reporting that a new resort MAY be coming to the Swan and Dolphin area at Walt Disney World.

While the Swan and Dolphin are not Disney-owned properties, they are located in a prime location on Disney World property. Marriott is the owner of both resorts and it appears they will also be the owner of the new rumored resort.

Back in January, height balloons were spotted in the area around the tennis courts of the Swan and Dolphin hotels. This is the rumored location of where this new resort will be built. Due to the size of this area, only a smaller or “boutique” hotel would be built. Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course is right across the street from this location we would expect that minor modifications would have to be made to it.

As always, nothing is official until it is confirmed by Disney. This is certainly one to keep an eye on though.

Parenting Expert Claims to Have Come Up with Concept for “Inside Out” and Sues Disney

Disney will soon be back in court after a parenting expert claims that Walt Disney and Pixar allegedly stole the the concept for “Inside Out” from a project she pitched to the company repeatedly from 2005 – 2009 dubbed “The Moodsters.”

According to an article in Fortune, Denise Daniels who has appeared on many TV shows including Oprah and Today argued that she as an “implied-in-fact” contract with Disney and is seeking payment for box office, DVD, Blue-Ray, iTunes and merchandise revenue from the blockbuster film which has grossed more than $850 million worldwide since its Summer 2015 release.

Disney denies the allegations and in a statement published by Fortune said: “We look forward to vigorously defending against this lawsuit in court,”

The lawsuit is not the first of its kind. in March, Gary Goldman, a Hollywood screenwriter sued Disney for copying ideas from his work that were incorporated in Zootopia.

Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky
Magic Kingdom commemorates the Fourth with brilliant fireworks choreographed to patriotic music. The red, white and blue extravaganza will bathe the sky on both July 3 and July 4 at 9 p.m.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
This nightly Epcot favorite adds a patriotic twist to the show, with a special laser light finale celebrating America. Fireworks will blast off at 9 p.m. on July 4.

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular
Celebrate Star Wars, a great icon of American culture, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This one-of-a-kind show takes to the sky at 9:30 p.m. nightly.

Rivers of Light
Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s newest nighttime show celebrates a connection with nature through light, water and fire. Rivers of Light has two showings nightly, 9:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Other Independence Day fun and entertainment includes:

The talented Voices of Liberty a cappella group will perform traditional Americana tunes during a 4th of July Concert on the America Gardens Theater stage at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. The vibrant American Music Machine will perform pop hits, at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 3:50 p.m.
Meet favorite Disney Characters — all dressed up to celebrate America’s birthday – throughout the day at the American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot.
The Muppets Present…Great Moments in History: Miss Piggy, Kermit, Fozzie Bear and friends reenact famous moments in American history in a whimsical way. The live show is performed daily in Liberty Square.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa hosts an All-American July 4 cookout from 7-8:30 p.m. The star-spangled feast includes grilled steak and shrimp, hot dogs, baked beans, sides, plus specialty drinks, beer and wine. There’s a live DJ and crafts for kids. After dinner, head to the Grand Floridian Marina for sweets and a view of the Magic Kingdom Park’s July 4 fireworks. Cost is $120 plus tax, gratuity is included; $59 ages 3 to 11. For reservations, 407-WDW-DINE.

Get ready to hear “You’re Welcome” all day long! Disney’s Moana is on Netflix just in time for summer break. The movie hit Netflix today, which is great because now there is no need for my kids to fight over who is going to put in the DVD for the fifth time today!

If you haven’t had the chance to see Moana, I highly recommend taking advantage of watching the film while its streaming on Netflix, as Disney movies are generally only available on Netflix for a limited time. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the movie made $642.7 million worldwide.

The movie follows the journey of Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) a free-spirited teen who defies her father and teams up with the self-centered demigod Maui, (Dwayne Johnson) to save the island of her people. Disney is at its best with amazing music paired with a story line that is sure to touch your heart.

Directorial Changes Announced for Upcoming Untitled Han Solo Film

Lucasfilm has just announced that currently untitled Han Solo film will have a directorial change.

Here is the statement that was released today from Lucasfilm and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller:

“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.

“Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project. We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew,” stated Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.”

The untitled Han Solo film remains scheduled for a May 2018 release.

Bachelor in Paradise WILL Return This Season

As we previously reported, filming on this season’s Bachelor in Paradise came to an unexpected halt among “allegations of misconduct” after a producer filed a complaint about “lack of consent” during a scene that was filmed for the show. ABC and Warner Brothers even went as far as sending all the contestants home from their filming location in Mexico.

Today, ABC released a statement stating that the production will resume for this season and the show will air later this summer.

An ABC spokesperson said: “We appreciate the swift and complete investigation by Warner Bros. into allegations of misconduct on the set of ‘Bachelor in Paradise.’ Given their results, the series will resume production, and will air this summer on ABC.”

Bachelor in Paradise is a reality show that airs on ABC featuring “former fan favorites and controversial characters (from the Bachelor and Bachelorette) looking for a chance at love.” This will be the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise. It is unknown at this time if the show will return on it’s scheduled season premiere date of August 8 and if the contestants involved in the incident in question will for filming.

As I previously mentioned, I didn’t think this show would ever return to the air. So, the fact that it has returned for this season is quite shocking. I’m interested to see how it plays out on TV.

Disney Files Patent for Technology That Will be Used in a Captain America Virtual Shield Throwing Experience

Disney filed a patent on technology that simulates throwing and catching Captain America’s shield. The new technology will be part of a new virtual reality experience.

The patent designs show how users would fasten some type of motion sensor to their forearm with a physical shield on a short rail. The shield would slide on the rail when the user makes a throwing motion. However, the physical shield would never leave the arm piece, sensors would simulate a virtual shield, which would travel based on how it is thrown.

Although the designs in the application show Captain America’s shield, the application indicates the technology could be applied to any situation involving throwing a simulated projectile.

Guests will be aiming for targets in simulated battle scenarios and the shield would have a “boomerang effect” as it does in the comics and movies. It is expected to have various levels of difficulty making some targets harder to hit.

Disney has been developing Marvel attractions for its California Adventure theme park. It’s newest attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! opened last month.

Walt Disney World Resort Becomes Orlando Magic’s First Jersey Sponsor

Orlando basketball fans will be getting a little extra “magic” when their beloved home team the Orlando Magic, hits the court during the 2017 – 2018 NBA season. The result of a community sponsorship agreement between Walt Disney World and The Orlando Magic, Disney will become the first jersey sponsor for the basketball team. Be on the lookout for that MAGICAL Disney logo on the court this upcoming season!

“With Orlando as our hometown, magic has always been a key strand of our DNA,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. “This expanded agreement with Disney brings our story full circle and represents the coming together of two dynamic organizations that have become synonymous with Orlando.”

Since becoming a Champion of the Community sponsor with the Magic in 2010, Disney has been working with the Magic on outreach initiatives that benefit the local community and make Central Florida a better place to live, work and play. The uniform sponsorship strengthens the relationship between Disney and the Magic and will connect both fan bases, provide shared marketing opportunities and cement Central Florida’s reputation as a global sports destination.
