Permits filed – New Ratatouille ride coming to the France Pavilion?

Permits have been filed for the open space between the France & Morocco Pavilion in Epcot. Word on the street this will be the place the New Ratatouille ride will be going.

The new ride will be on the Morocco side of the France Pavilion and should take up most of the space between the 2 pavilions.

No other details have been released at the moment and no official word has been released by Disney.

Ron Howard Releases Statement on Taking Over Directing Duties for New Han Solo Movie

As we previously reported, It was just announced that Ron Howard would be taking over the directing duties for the new Han Solo film from Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Today, Ron Howard has released a few comments about his excitement for his new director role on this film.

With a big smile on his face, Howard said, “I’ve been around the Star Wars universe from the beginning. When I was being directed by George Lucas on American Graffiti in 1972, we were standing out in front of Mel’s Drive-In in San Francisco where we were shooting and I said, ‘Do you know what you think your next film might be?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, I want to do a science fiction movie, but a really fun one like Flash Gordon with the effects of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001.’ I thought, ‘That sounds like a kind of crazy idea.’”

Howard said he became “so curious” when news about the 1977 Star Wars film began to spread. He said that he and his wife went to see the movie on opening day and that they were “so moved by the movie. It was all the things you dream you’re going to experience in the movies.”

Howard added, “So many people involved with the Star Wars franchise are friends, so it’s gratifying to be able to lend my voice to the universe — coming in when it’s already been in production and there is a great amount of work done.”

After tweeting the following two tweets earlier this week as well, there is no doubt that he is truly honored and excited to be a part of this upcoming movie.

Two Brothers Don’t Miss a Detail, Recreating Andy’s Room From the Toy Story Films

Wow! To say these two brothers from Ankeny, Iowa are Toy Story’s biggest fans, would be an understatement. Morgan and Mason McGrew say they spent their childhood weekends watching the beloved Toy Story films over and over, even wearing out the first VHS tape!

While some people outgrow their love of Disney movies, the McGrew brothers have spent two years keeping the magic alive by transforming Mason’s room into an exact replica of Andy’s room! Younger brother Mason re-created every poster and sticker that Andy has in his room, without missing a detail. They filled the room with handmade furniture, painted the walls in the iconic blue with yellow stars, and even went as far as to create a second window for true authenticity. A visit to the McGrew home would no doubt have you feeling as though you’ve stepped right into the classic Pixar film.

With Morgan in school studying digital media and business, and Mason entering the college process, both young men really relate to Toy Story 3 on a personal level.

The two are currently working on a stop-motion re-make of the Toy Story 3 movie, using actual Toy Story toys and live actors. Take a look at some of the clips on their YouTube channel. With their obsession with the films, I bet these two will be first in line for Walt Disney World‘s Toy Story Land, opening!

Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon Closure Dates for Annual Refurbishment

Guests busy planning their fall and winter Walt Disney World vacations will want to make a note of the annual refurbishment schedule for both water parks.

Blizzard Beach will be closed for annual maintenance beginning October 29 through January 6, 2018. Typhoon Lagoon will tag out and begin annual refurbishment the following day and will be closed January 7, 2018, through March 17 for routine maintenance. Bonus Tip: Visiting Walt Disney World soon and wondering whether to visit a water park? Let me pass on a little tip to you. New Disney World Fireworks Show is Leaving Local Resident’s Vehicles Covered in Ashes

Last month, Disney’s Magic Kingdom park debuted its new fireworks show “Happily Ever After.” The new nighttime show is the biggest fireworks spectacular in Disney World history and according to local residents, it has become a problem.

Eyewitness News interviewed residents of Windermere Cay Luxury apartments who claim that since replacing “Wishes,” the former Magic Kingdom fireworks show, “Happily Ever After” has left their cars covered in ashes and debris, on a daily basis.

“You have to pay for it every day to get it cleaned off, plus God only know what damage it’s doing to my car,” Rob, who didn’t want to give his last name, told Eyewitness News. While other residents don’t seem to have an issue. “It’s expected. I mean if you’re living here, you’re less than a mile away from the launch point,” Victor Salcedo said.

Disney has not made an official comment about the debris.

We May Know the Opening Date of Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World

Greetings guys and gals! It is I, Anonymounse, back this week with some more Disney World gossip. I may have some insight into when Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World will be opening.

As I was scrolling through the internet earlier looking for some gossip for my fans, I stumbled on this from TouringPlans.com:

There it is, folks! It says Slinky Dog Dash, the much-anticipated new roller coaster to open in this new “land,” will be open on July 1, 2018!

Of course, nothing is official until confirmed by Disney but we are under the impression that Toy Story Land would be opening in 2018. So, maybe this is the date! We anticipate to hear confirmation from Disney at the upcoming D23 Expo held next month at Disneyland.

Is a Popular runDisney Event Returning to Walt Disney World?

The Expedition Everest Challenge was an extremely popular runDisney event that took place in Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The Challenge combined an obstacle course, 5k, and scavenger hunt to make it an extra exciting event. In addition, The Challenge took place at night and you could even compete on two-person teams.

After the race, a giant Post-Race Party was held at Animal Kingdom for all Expedition Everest Challenge contestants and their friends and families. Included in the Post-Race Party was your chance to ride Kail River Rapids, DINOSAUR, and Expedition Everest. The party was complimentary for registered contestants of the Challenge but friends and family of runners not registered for the event were required to purchase a separate ticket.

Well, now it look like the Expedition Everest may be coming back! Yesterday runDisney on Instagram posted the following:

The Expedition Everest Challenge was last ran in May of 2015. There is no indication on what time of the year the race will be held in the future and when we can expect to see it again. Stay tuned as we will let you know as soon as the details are officially confirmed by Disney.

I never had a chance to participate in this race before but it looks incredible! How fun would it be to run around Animal Kingdom at night especially with Pandora – The Wold of Avatar being open?!

Summer Hero Summer Now Open at Hong Kong Disneyland

Marvel Super Hero Summer is now open at Hong Kong Disneyland! Marvel Super Hero fans can come face-to-face with some of your favorite characters!

Before beginning your Super Hero journey, new recruits will receive a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Credentials along with a personalized ID. Your mission will begin with a Hero’s Welcome from Captain America and then meet the legendary web-slinger at the Spider-Man Heroic Encounter. Guests visiting Stark Expo can also meet with Iron Man himself.

Disney Parks Blog gives us more details on what guests can expect:

“Walk through Mission: Dimensions of Danger and help Doctor Strange recover the powerful Portal Nexus artifact before it falls into the hands of Hydra. In order to save Hong Kong, Agents will battle alongside Black Widow and Hawkeye, join forces with the mighty Thor in Odin’s Vault, help Star-Lord in the Collector’s Museum and much more. Of course, the Expo Shop also has new themed merchandise items, including Super Hero costumes, toys and personalized products, and you’ll find new food and beverage items exclusive to the resort.”

“Hong Kong Disneyland also teamed up with Marvel to introduce an all-new, limited-edition Marvel comic book, “Iron Man Experience: Hong Kong Heroes #1,” and printed copies are for sale during Marvel Super Hero Summer only at the resort. The Marvel team, along with a Hong Kong artist and a Hong Kong based writer, spent two months crafting the comic. Set in Hong Kong, the story debuts a new armored hero who joins Iron Man and the other Super Heroes to stop the bad guys from taking a secret treasure hidden in Hong Kong’s Stark Expo.”
