There’s no shortage of imaginative and wonderful displays showcased at Disney’s D23 convention each year. In fact one item in particular has already won over our hearts – the fantastic conversion of a Honda Odyssey into a “Minnie Van.”

Though I’m sure you’ve already imagined yourself hitting the open highway in this pink polka-dotted roadster, sadly this amazing tribute to Minnie Mouse is not available for purchase. If you’ve been to Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort you know all about the HUGE turkey legs sold in the parks. The turkey legs are a hit with park guests, they are easy to eat on the go and are satisfying as a meal. Disney was recently surprised to discover the popularity of the turkey legs has spread to Shanghai Disney Resort.

According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, over Shanghai Disney Resort’s one year anniversary they sold 4,500 turkey legs in one day! Iger told reporters, “If you go to Disneyland or Disney World, we sell gigantic turkey legs — they’re like the size of my arm… And when I heard we were putting them on the menu in Shanghai I thought our group was crazy. Why are we selling turkey legs in China?”

With more than than 4,000 units selling daily, Shanghai Disney had to seek a supplier in South America in addition to it’s Polish supplier. Shanghai’s version of this popular park treat is glazed in Disney’s own hoisin sauce recipe, it’s no wonder they are selling like crazy!

You can find the hoisin-glazed turkey legs at the Tortuga Treats kiosk in Shanghai Disneyland’s Treasure Cove.

The 2017 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is fast approaching. We are just days away from being able to reserve our spots to the culinary demonstrations, seminars, hands-on classes, and the “Party For the Senses” event. If you are a Disney Vacation Club member, then you have a head start at booking time!

Disney Vacation Members will be able to start booking these incredibly popular events two days before the general public. As an added bonus, DVC members will get receive $2 off beverage seminars and culinary demonstrations held Monday through Thursday!

DVC Members Can Book EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Events Early

DVC Members interested in the “Party for the Senses” event can book from a block of 50 reserved seats on both the September 23 and October 21 party dates. To celebrate the upcoming release of Descendants 2 on July 27, 2017, Disney has invited the Villain Kids from the much-loved franchise to serve as Grand Marshals at Mickey’s Soundsational Parade at Disneyland today (July 13th) at 4pm (PST).

If you’re at Disneyland today be sure to line up to catch a glimpse of Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Carlos (Cameron Boyce), Jay (Booboo Stewart) and Uma (China Anne McClain), who will also be joined by Emmy Award-winning director Kenny Ortega.

Can’t make it in person? Don’t worry! Stop by Disney Parks Blog at 4pm PST for a live stream of the Pre-Parade moment. The live stream will be hosted by Radio Disney’s Morgan Tompkins and popular YouTube personality Charisma Star.

Be sure to check out the parade today and tune in to see Descendants 2 on Friday, July 21st at 8pm EST. The show will be broadcast across six Disney and ABC Television Group channels including: Disney Channel, ABC, Disney XD, Freeform, Lifetime and Lifetime Movies.

First Look at Pirates of the Caribbean New Redheaded Auction Scene

Annual Passholders at Disneyland Paris just received a special treat! They were the first to catch a glimpse of the refurbished Pirates of the Caribbean ride including the re-imagined “Redheaded Auction” scene!

A few weeks ago Disney announced that they would be removing the Redheaded Auction scene from all of the Pirates rides around the globe. This announcement was met with much disappointment form fans of the iconic attraction and several petitions were even formed.

Here is the full video of the refurbished ride. You can start taking a look at the new Redheaded scene around the 4:35 mark of the video. You can also view the new Captain Barbossa animatronic around the 7:38 mark. Keep your eyes peeled for other changes as well!

The ride is scheduled to reopen to the public at Disneyland Paris on July 24. There is no word when the attraction at the other Disney Parks will be closed for the refurbishment.

Fans of the Food & Wine Classic taking place each Autumn at the magnificent Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resor t have cause to be very excited. For the first time in its eight years, the Classic will play host to a grand tasting event by a master sommelier.

The event will focus on the Italian regions of Barolo and Barbaresco with a focus on Nebbiolo grape found in Northern Italy and will be led by Master Sommelier Matthew Citriglia, one of only 149 master sommeliers in the Americas. During the tasting event, he will showcase rare vintages from the region making this a must-do event for wine lovers.

Citriglia currently holds the post of Director of Education for Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits and is among the longest-tenured master sommeliers in Florida with over 30 years of experience. The event provides a unique opportunity for visitors to Food & Wine Classic to learn from one of the industries leading experts while in an intimate setting.

The Grand Tasting with Master Sommelier Matthew Citriglia will take place on Saturday, October 28th from 2 – 3:30pm. Tickets are $300 per person and are expected to sell out quickly. Entertainment Weekly has released their annual Comic-Con preview issue featuring Marvel‘s Black Panther cast on the cover and a more in-depth look at the characters in the upcoming film. The movie is set to debut in theaters February 16th, 2017 with a story line centering around T’Challa, King of the technologically advanced African nation Wakanda, and his journey to protect his people and their land.

Let’s take a look at the star-studded cast and the characters they will be portraying on-screen:

Black Panther

Chadwick Boseman – Boseman will star as Wakanda’s King, T’Challa. With superhuman strength many may view him as a hero, but T’Challa’s focus is on his politics and what he can do to protect his people and their way of life.

Lupita Nyong’o – Academy Award-winning Nyong’o will no doubt be amazing in the role of Wakanda’s undercover spy, Nakia. The weapons-wielding operative is sent out to gather information on what is happening around the world outside of Wakanda.

Michael B. Jordan – Jordan plays Erik Killmonger, exiled from his homeland of Wakanda, Killmonger teams up with Ulysses Klaue in an attempt to steal Wakanda’s Vibranium – the most rare and advanced metal on Earth.

Angela Bassett – Advising T’Challa in all aspects of his life, Bassett takes on the role of Romanda former Queen of Wakanda, and mother of T’Challa.

Danai Gurira – On screen Gurira will portray Okoye, leader of the Dora Milaje, an all-female special soldiers unit that protects the king an Wakanda from harm.

Letitia Wright – Wright will bring to life the role of T’Challa’s younger sister Shuri. Incredibly intelligent and leader of the Wakandan design group, Shuri is responsible for the technology created with the Vibranium in Wakanda.

Forest Whitaker – Whitaker plays the shaman Zuri, as a long time adviser to T’Challa’s father he is also the keeper of the Heart-Shaped Herb. Enriched with Vibranium from the land, when consumed, the herb gives Wakandan leader his superhuman strength.

Daniel Kaluuya – In the role of W’Kabi, Kaluuya portrays T’Challa’s best friend. W’Kabi works as leader of security for the Border Tribe – Wakanda’s first line of defense.

Disney Accelerator is a program created to promote the growth of start-up companies from around the world. Since the inception of the program in 2014, many companies continue to work with Disney on innovative new products and ideas. An example of a successful Accelerator collaboration would be the BB-8 enabled Droid that became the number one Star Wars Toy in 2015. This week, the Walt Disney Company announced the eleven 2017 companies that are helping to build the future in the areas of media and entertainment as part of the Accelerator program. The companies are as follows :

Ambidio: A sound company that produces a continuous sound field through stereo speakers, making the listening experience more immersive

.aXiomatic: An esports company with a majority steak in Team liquid, a top esports team in the US and Europe with 60 pro players, coaches and analysts.

Brit + Co: A digital media company with a focus on empowering women through inspiring content, products and online learning which currently boast 125 million users.

Epic Games: The team behind the Unreal, Gears of War and Infinity Blade series of games, as well as newer titles such as Fortnite, Paragon and Robo Recall.

Hoodline: a local news platform that geotags content from hundreds of media partners to websites or mobile apps. They also analyze findings for business and media companies.

Kahoot!: a game-based learning platform with more than 50 million monthly active users worldwide.

ProductionPro: a tool for storytellers, screenwriters, and creators that pulls scripts, research, designs, and continuity together to foster creative decision-making.

ReplyYes: An innovative e-commerce mobile messaging service where customers reply “YES” to buy a product and have it delivered.

Samba TV: A data and analytics company providing television insights through software integrations with smart TV manufacturers.

Savioke: A robotics company that develops and deploys indoor delivery robots that work alongside people in businesses from hotels, to high-rise apartment buildings. Their portfolio includes Relay, an autonomous delivery robot that is already used in dozens of hotels worldwide.

The VOID: An entertainment company that fully immerses guests in virtual experiences with friends and family. The VOID combines interactive sets, virtual reality, real-time effects, and state of the art technology to bring guests into their experience.

The Disney Accelerator was created to match each of these portfolio companies with the expertise of The Walt Disney Company thus providing leadership, support and mentoring opportunities. A Wrinkle in Time

If you love star-studded movies, then you are in for a treat with Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time! The Disney adaption of this novel by Madeline L’Engle features everyone from the likes of Oprah Winfrey to Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine.

The plot of the story revolves around a teenager named Meg (played by Storm Reid) who tries to find her father (played by Chris Pine) who has gone missing. Meg enlists the help of three supernatural beings on her search: Mrs. Who (played by Mindy Kaling), Mrs. Whatsit (played by Witherspoon), and Mrs. Which (played by Winfrey) . Meg is transported through a tesseract thanks to the trio of ladies who “wrinkle” time and space.
