D23 Tsum Tsum Sets

The D23 Expo has begun, so that means lots of incredible sneak peeks, and of course exclusive merchandise! Tsum Tsum Central has a preview of the D23 Tsum Tsum Sets that will be released at the expo! Four new sets will be released during the expo, a Stormtooper Set, a Pixar Shorts Set, a Mary Poppins Set, and my personal favorite a Rescue Rangers Set!

Each day different sets will be released at the Disney Store at the Expo. The Mary Poppins, Pixar Shorts, and Stormtrooper sets will be limited edition sets of 1000, and although not confirmed the Rescue Rangers set will most likely have the same edition size.

There are many Star Wars Tsum Tsums out there, but this set is really cool. The Storm Trooper “Through the Years” set includes six different types of Stormtroopers. You’ll find Clonetroopers, and even a Deathtrooper, how cool!

Fans of Mary Poppins will be delighted by this Tsum Tsum set, inspired by the Jolly Holiday. Mary, Bert, a Penguin, and a Carousel Horse come packaged in a box that is practically perfect in every way.

A Pixar Shorts set will feature 8 Tsum Tsum plush from the beloved shorts many of us look forward to with each Pixar release. The set will feature 2 from each of 4 Pixar Shorts: For the Birds, Presto, Boundin’, and Piper. My heart definetly melted a bit when I saw the Piper Tsum Tsum!

Now for the grand finale, the Rescue Rangers Tsum Tsum set!! Unlike the above sets that come in a box, this incredible set features our heroic pals in a plush version of their infamous air ship! Chip, Dale, Monty, Gadget and Zipper fly to the rescue in the most adorable Tsum Tsum form. They are all mini sized Tsums, with the exception of Zipper who will be a micro size. I need a Gadget Tsum Tsum in my life!

New Her Universe Styles Coming to the Disney Store at D23

New Her Universe styles for the Disney Store will be debuting at the D23 Expo! The debut will feature four unique items, that are inspired by the original Disney style girl herself, Minnie Mouse, as well as Star Wars Marvel, and Pixar!

I’m a huge fan of WALL-E so I was excited to see this stylish new shirt from Her Universe. The shirt is even made from recycled materials, which is so in tune with the movie! There isn’t a lot of WALL-E items out there, so I think this is an awesome new item to add to the collection.

As a Star Wars fan, this was another fantastic t-shirt to see. The Star Wars Forces of Destiny Ashoka Tano tee is an out of this galaxy hit!

The new Marvel Comic Book Cover leggings are sure to make anyone feel heroic. They feature Marvel Comics artwork curated exclusively for this piece.

Last but not least is the very vintage looking Minnie Mouse Polka Dot dress. I’ve never seen many Her Universe Minnie Mouse pieces, aside from the incredible Minnie Bow hair clips, so I’m happy to see a little #RockTheDots fashion coming to the collection!

These new Her Universe styles will be available at the Disney Store at the D23 Expo for the entire weekend! These items will also be coming soon to select Disney Stores too. 2017 Emmy Award Nominations Released And Include 36 For ABC — (ABC/Bob D’Amico)

The 69th Primetime Emmy Award Nominations have been announced and ABC has received 36! These nominations include a second consecutive nomination for critically acclaimed comedy series “black-ish” and Lead Actress Tracee Ellis Ross, as well as a third consecutive nomination for Lead Actor Anthony Anderson.

Emmy winner Viola Davis received her third consecutive Lead Drama Actress nomination for “How to Get Away with Murder,” while legendary actress Cicely Tyson picked up her second Guest Actress nomination for the show.

This award honors the best in U.S. prime time television programming from June 1, 2016 until May 31, 2017 and the nominees are selected by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The 2017 Emmys will be hosted by Stephen Colbert and air at 8 pm EST/5 pm PDT on September 17.

A First Look at Star Wars Land From the D23 Expo

Our very own Chip is bringing us the latest news live from D23 this weekend and we are so delighted to be able to share with all you Disney and Star Wars fans, this first glimpse of what the much-anticipated Star Wars Land will actually look like when it is unveiled in 2019.

Here’s a feed directly from D23 about this breathtaking expansion:

Check out this first look at the epic, richly detailed model of the Star Wars-themed lands under development at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif. and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fla.

D23 also released additional concept art images giving attendees a flavor of what it will feel like to walk through this area of the parks.

During a presentation at D23, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek had the following to say about the project: “All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see how truly epic these immersive new worlds will be.”

The model will remain on display at the pavilion through the weekend to give visitors an up-close look at what’s to come. In addition, attendees will be treated to display models, artwork and media that provide a detailed look at some of the locations, starships, creatures, and droids that guests will encounter when they visit this new planet.

The Star Wars expansion will represent the largest single-themed land expansion at 14 acres each and will open in both parks in 2019.

Guest Sues Disneyland Paris After Being Burned by Chef

Unfortunately, when Erica Osbourne ordered a creme burlee at the Newport Bay Resort Restaurant in Disneyland Paris, she received a lot more than she bargained for. Osbourne was burned by a fireball during the preparation of the dessert after it nearly missing her 10-year old daughter, Abigail.

Here is Osbourne’s account of the incident:

“I had ordered the crème brûlée and Abigail had gone to get an ice cream when the chef lit the sugar and a massive fireball came across the counter towards me. I was so terrified that I froze to the spot but I remember an intense heat on my face. Abigail told me later that I was screaming ‘help me! I’m on fire’. My jumper and my face were on fire.

Osbourne said another diner and the chef, “bundled me to the ground and rolled me around to put out the flames.”

Guest Sues Disneyland Paris After Being Burned by Chef

As you can see from these photos, Osbourne has lost a section of her hair and eyebrows. She also suffered second degree burns and scarring. She received medical attention at the scene of the accident and was later transported to the hospital.

Osbourne said that she was told by a Cast Member at the restaurant that, “This is no different than falling off a bike.”

Disneyland Paris released the following statement regarding the accident: “Incidents of this type are extremely rare. As this is an ongoing legal issue which is in the process of being resolved, it would be inappropriate to discuss this further at this time.”

Max Pass System Available at Disneyland Parks Beginning July 19th

In just a few short days, Disneyland Resort will be unveiling its new MaxPass system which will provide guests with unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads as well as mobile Disney FASTPASS booking and redemption times. The system is integrated with the Disneyland App allowing guests to maximize their experience while at the parks.

Here’s a quick explanation from a member of Disneyland Guest Services on how the system works:

The MaxPass system will initially be offered to guests for an introductory rate of $10 per day. MaxPass can be added on when guests purchase their tickets or through the Disneyland App once they enter the theme park. Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders will have the option of using MaxPass year round and can add it to their Passports for a one off fee of $75. Signature Plus passholders automatically receive Disney MaxPass at no additional cost.

To celebrate the inception of the new MaxPass system. Disneyland added two additional FASTPASS locations: Matterhorn Bobsleds and Toy Story Mania. This means that FASTPASSES can be booked for 16 attractions across both parks. For those opting out of the MaxPass option, the regular paper Disney FASTPASS service will continue to operate at no additional cost.

So hop on over to the parks this Summer and give this new system a try!

Party For The Senses Details During EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

UPDATE: A few changes have been announced for this year’s Party For the Senses event. The biggest change is that everyone will have assigned seating. Also, the new Minnie Vans will be used for part of the event too. As we previously reported, three categories of ticket levels are available that offer seating choices for all guests.

Category 1 ($329) is The Wine View Lounge and puts guests in an exclusive area near the stage and dance floor. This year transportation is also provided from Epcot’s entrance back to the event site at World ShowPlace in the popular Minnie Vans!
Category 2 ($199) offers guests reserved seating at a table just for their party
Category 3 ($179) provides guaranteed seating at a long, communal table for 24 people

The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival takes it up a notch with an exclusive special event called Party for the Senses, happening multiple nights throughout the festival dates. This all-you-can-eat-and-drink party features acclaimed chefs, incredible music, and amazing savory and sweet dishes to enjoy.

Party for the Senses is a hard ticketed event, meaning that it requires purchasing an additional ticket along with your EPCOT admission. But as an added bonus, guests will also receive reserved seating for 5:30 PM and 6:45 PM performances of the Eat to the Beat concert series.

Due to some unforeseen maintenance issues two Grand Floridian Resort restaurants will be temporarily closed this week. 1900 Park Fare will be closed tonight, July 13, for dinner. The Grand Floridian Cafe will be closed July 13 – 15.

All other Grand Floridian Resort restaurants will remain open during normal operating hours.
