As you already know by now, EPCOT’s Universe of Energy will be closing forever on August 13th in order to make way for Disney World’s newest E-ticket Guardians of the Galaxy attraction. The Universe of Energy pavilion has been a main stay at EPCOT since the park opened in 1982. To honor the attraction’s longevity, EPCOT has released limited edition Universe of Energy Closing merchandise. You can pick these items up at MouseGear while supplies last.

The navy blue shirt and Christmas ornament are available exclusively for Annual Passholders. The grey shirt and baseball hat are open for general purchase. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the parks, these limited release shirts for both Universe of Energy and The Great Movie Ride will be available online here starting August 10th.

Dessert Party No Longer Included in Star Wars Guided Tour Beginning October 1

Beginning October 1, the Star Wars Guided Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will no longer include the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party. The inclusion of the dessert part in the tour packages will end on September 30.

Guests registered for the Star Wars Guided Tour will still be able to take advantage of a reserved viewing area for the nighttime fireworks Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. Prices for the tour prior to October 1 are $129.00 per person (includes tax and gratuity) and will reduce to $99.00 per person (includes tax and gratuity) after the dessert party is removed from the tour.

This Hollywood Studios Guided Tour was first offered in January 2. The seven-hour tour is led by a Star Wars “all-in-the-know” guide and includes:

Reserved viewing for “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away,”
A journey on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
An opportunity to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple (for guests age 4-12)
A guided exploration and character greetings at Star Wars Launch Bay
Dinner at Backlot Express, aquick-service restaurant featuring Star Wars-themed items
The Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party (through September 30)

ABC Delays ‘The Little Mermaid’ Live

Sad news for everyone who was looking forward to going “Under the Sea” with the Little Mermaid Live. (I know I was.) ABC has just announced that the premiere date for the live production of the Broadway show has been pushed back. The live musical was supposed to premiere on October 3 and no new date has been announced.

“We are postponing the Little Mermaid Live special,” an ABC spokesperson said in an official statement. “We love the idea of doing a live musical and want to make it wonderful. The project is so unique that we are making best efforts to do it next year and want to give it all the attention it deserves.”

The live production of the Broadway show based on the iconic Little Mermaid movie was announced in May. Several live musicals have been hitting the airways in recent years. The Little Mermaid was supposed to be ABC’s first live musical production.

Rob Mills, ABC’s head of alternative programming, told Variety “We really wanted to be in the game as well, and we’re Disney and we have this library that has an endless amount of classic musicals that really play to everyone. Rob Mills, ABC’s head of alternative programming, told Variety at the time. “But that’s a double-edged sword because you are Disney, you have to do it right. You’ve got to do it so you’re honoring the brand. It took time to find the right take on this.”

Enjoy These Peanut Butter Blondie Bars From Sweet on You Aboard the Disney Fantasy at Home

Have you been aboard the Disney Fantasy recently? If not, you’re missing out on the opportunity to try out the new Sweet on You aboard the ship. Sweet on You serves up tasty treats, including hand-crafted ice cream and gelato, plus an entire case of desserts that are as pretty to look at as they are delicious to eat!

The recipe I’m sharing with you today is one of my favorites and a great one to make with the kids. After the brownies cool, bring the family together for a decorating party and get creative with all of your toppings. Then be sure to stop by Sweet on You during your family’s week-long vacation on the Disney Fantasy to try more of our yummy sweet treats.

Peanut Butter Blondie Bars

Ingredients:

1 cup white chocolate chips
1 stick unsalted butter
4 tsp creamy peanut butter
3 large eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1¼ cups flour
¼ cup pecans, chopped
Candy to garnish

Chocolate Ganache:

1 cup heavy cream
2 cups dark chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Melt the chocolate, peanut butter and butter.
3. Whisk the eggs and brown sugar with an electric mixer until thickened. Fold the chocolate mixture into the whisked eggs.
4. Fold the sieved flour and pecans into the chocolate mixture. Pour the mixture into a baking tray and spread out evenly. Place in the oven to bake for approximately 45 minutes.
5. Once the brownies are cool, cut out with a 2.5 inch cookie cutter.
6. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream over the stove until just reaching boiling point. Pour the hot cream over the dark chocolate and stir in until the chocolate has melted.
7. Once cool, beat the ganache before piping on top of each brownie. Decorate with your choice of candy.

Now that the flowers have bloomed, and the sun is shining, I definetly need to bring out the brighter colors with my wardrobe. So of course I decided to see what Summer Disney Inspired Nail Polish KSea Gale’s Nails had to offer. I was happy to find so many beautiful choices, including “Daisy“!

Of course I love the original Disney style gal herself Minnie Mouse, but deep down my heart has always belonged to Daisy Duck. I almost feel like this polish was made for me with the clear base that is filled with pastel pink, white, and holographic violet hearts, bows, circles, hexes, and mouse shaped glitters! The different shades of purples and pinks really show off that fierce Daisy style. Now I know everyone is not as in love with Daisy as me, but don’t worry there are plenty of gorgeous brightly colored Disney polishes to check out below! Disney Channel Executive Files Suit Alleging Being Fired After Reporting Sexual Harassment

A former executive from the Disney Channel, Jocelyn McDowell, has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, the Disney Channel, after alleging she was fired after when she reported a sexual harassment claim against her boss. The suit claims that McDowell and two of her coworkers were the target of Jimmy Blackburn’s “sexist and inappropriate remarks.”

The suit goes on to say that Blackburn made multiple inappropriate comments towards the women when discussing plans for an upcoming meeting. Some of the comments that Blackburn is reported as saying is “You are not my best presenter, but you are attractive so it will help you in that room,” and, “Why are you not wearing heels today?”

Once McDowell reported the alleged comments, she reports Blackburn as telling her, “I will have your job by the end of the day,” and, “No one does this to me.” The suit also states that McDowell was demoted and eventually fired. She was offered a position on another team where she “no longer was able to brief senior executives in the company.”

McDowell presented the incidents to senior management for the Disney Channel which later came back around to Blackburn. Once he had word that McDowell was in touch with senior management, the suit claims he threw a “temper tantrum” in an effort to prevent other victims from coming forward.

Human resources for the Disney Channel launched an investigation into Blackburn and concluded that he acted with “inappropriate conduct.” However, he was not fired as he was not in violation of the law or Disney’s harassment policies. Blackburn only got off with a warning.

McDowell states that Blackburn is still retaliating against her sexual harassment claims. He has reportedly not former co-workers not to communicate with her. She goes on to state that multiple other Disney executives have done nothing.

Lately Disney has released some amazing live-action remakes of their beloved animated classics. One of the next live-action remakes coming to the big screen is a twist on the classic Winnie the Pooh series. The new movie titled Christopher Robin, will focus on a grown-up Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) as he reunites with Pooh and friends.

According to reports from Variety, Hayley Atwell has been cast in the role of Christopher Robin’s wife. The talented Actress is no newcomer to the Disney family, she played Agent Carter in Marvel‘s Captain America: The First Avenger, she reprised that role as the lead in ABC’s television series Agent Carter. his wont be her first role in a Disney live-action remake, in Disney’s 2015 live-action Cinderella, Atwell played Cinderella’s mother.
