Alfredo Angelo to Auction Off Unsold Dresses

Alfredo Angelo to Auction Off Unsold Dresses

Alfred Angelo, maker of Disney Fairy Tale Wedding dresses, abruptly closed it’s doors after filing bankruptcy last month leaving many brides with no dress for their big day. After approval from the Florida bankruptcy judge handling the case, the struggling company announced they will be auctioning off their remaining inventory.

Dresses included in the auction will be sample dresses and in stock inventory. Dresses that were previously sold to buyers will not be included in the auction. Several customers who previously purchased dresses from the designer were notified they will not be receiving them per this statement released by the company: “It has now become apparent that the logistical and financial strain of fulfilling each and every open order makes continuing that course of action no longer possible.”

The auction will be held at the Alfred Angelo warehouse in South Florida on September 2. Reports state about 6,000 wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, other gowns and accessories to be auctioned off.

Absolutely Perfect Minnie Mouse Bow Hair Ties

Minnie Mouse Bow Hair Ties

I am absolutely obsessed with Disney themed hair accessories. I’ve especially always wanted a Minnie Mouse Bow pony tail holder, to the point where I once sent my husband scouring the parks to find them. So these Minnie Mouse Bow hair ties by A Fancy Finish on Etsy, are seriously one of my favorite Disney Accessories.

These bows were designed and made by  Rachael Hixon, a fellow annual passholder, who frequents the parks quite often. Like myself, and others she loves wearing mouse ears the parks when ever she goes. As fun as the mouse ears are though, sometimes they can feel too tight, be a bit tough to manage on faster rides, or you simply want to change things up a bit. She created these with exactly that in mind, they are cute, comfortable, and still give you fun splash of Disney flare. These are hand sewn bows that has been stuffed and attached to a hair tie, for a nice full look that’s easy to wear.

I love that the bow is removable from the hair tie, just in case it breaks. This way you can replace it and not lose your beautiful bow! The hair tie can also be moved around and adjusted so that the bow can be situated perfectly on a ponytail, around a bun or even a top Knot. The tighter you wrap the hair tie around your hair the more stationary the bow will be once in place.

Check out the available styles below:

I’m head over heels for these fabulous Minnie Mouse bow hair ties! Would you wear this as an alternative to Mouse Ears while visiting the Disney Parks? I think they would be a fun way to change up hair styles while still rocking the Disney Style.

La Cava Del Tequila Inside the Mexico Pavilion Is Now Straw-less

La Cava Del Tequila Inside the Mexico Pavilion Is Now Straw-less

Heads up tequila lovers! La Cava del Tequila, located in the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot World Showcase, made an announcement that starting today they will no longer be serving straws in their drinks.

This decision was made in order to cut down on waste and help the environment. Plastic straws never completely biodegrade and can pose a threat to wildlife. Also, La Cava del Tequila stated that straws take away from experiencing their amazing salts that are a key ingredient to their drink recipes. They actually offer a variety of yummy custom blended Rim Salts, like Hibiscus Salt, Poblano Pepper Salt, and yes even Mezcal Worm Salt. Don’t worry though, paper straws are still available upon request if you need/want one.

La Cava del Tequila joined the Mexico Pavilion in the Fall of 2009 and celebrates the heritage and tradition of tequila making in Mexico.

What do you think of this change? Let me know in the comments!

Exploring Walt Disney World’s Coasters On National Roller Coaster Day

Exploring Walt Disney World's Coasters On National Roller Coaster Day

Happy National Roller Coaster Day! Today is the perfect day for us to explore all of our favorite roller coaster attractions spread across Walt Disney World. Whether it’s indoor, outdoor, extreme, or geared towards families, Disney knows roller coasters!

Did you know that the first roller coaster to open at Walt Disney World was Space Mountain inside the Magic Kingdom? Guests began rocketing through space in 1975  inside of a 180 foot high “mountain”. It was one of Disney World’s most anticipated openings!

A few years later in 1980, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad the self-proclaimed “wildest ride in the wilderness”, made its debut in Frontierland. This coaster takes guests on a runaway train ride through an abandoned mining town flying through canyons and tunnels.

We can’t forget about the kiddos! The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm (previously inside Mickey’s Toontown Fair) was added to the Magic Kingdom in 1996. It was the park’s very first family coaster. Later the attraction received some updates and now serves up thrills in New Fantasyland.

1999 brought the extreme Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith to Hollywood Studios. This wild ride takes guests through Los Angeles in a super-stretch limo through three inversions, two rollover loops and one corkscrew all while jamming to the music of Aerosmith.

Animal Kingdom welcomed Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, its first coaster, in 2006. Guests are immersed in the story throughout the queue as they prepare for their mission to to seek out (or escape from) the mythical Yeti!

Finally, the newest Disney coaster at Walt Disney World is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train took the term “family coaster” to a whole new level in 2014. The queue itself is something to experience with immersive hands on activities as guests travel deeper into the mine of the Seven Dwarfs.

Take a look at the video below for a one-minute journey through some of our favorite coaster experiences.

Are Mini Toiletry Bottles a Thing of the Past at Disney World?

PO-R

PO-R

Is it time to say goodbye to one of the most popular souvenirs for many from Disney World? From the looks of these photos, it may mean the end to our beloved toiletry mini bottles.

A guest of Port Orleans – Riverside stated these toiletry dispensers were installed in their room after a day at the parks earlier this week.  This particular room was in the Alligator Bayou area of the resort. It’s also important to note that this is an ADA accessible room. It’s hard to know for sure if this is trial run in select rooms, if it will be rolled out to all rooms on property, or just ADA accessible rooms.

Are Mini Toiletry Bottles a Thing of the Past at Disney World?

Other than mini bottles being one of the only “Disney freebies” guests receive while on property, these new dispensers raise the question about cleanliness and germs. Some have reported that there is a lock on them to prevent tampering. At the same time, they are definitely more environmentally conscious than the mini bottles.

No official word on these have been released from Disney.

Could a New Indiana Jones-themed Land Be Taking Over DinoLand USA at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones

It’s only been a few months since Disney World’s newest expansion Pandora-The World of Avatar began wowing crowds over at Animal Kingdom and already there’s speculation as to what might be coming next to this Disney theme park.   Recent rumors suggest that a Zootopia expansion might be heading into the area that currently hosts Rafiki’s Planet watch or that additional attractions may be slated for Pandora.  However, another rumor currently making the rounds this week is that Disney might be considering adding another massive film-franchise to the theme park’s line-up in the years ahead.

Rumors began surfacing this week that an Indiana Jones-themed area may take over the section of the park currently called DinoLand USA.  It doesn’t seem terribly outlandish when considering that Walt Disney Company’s’ acquisition of Lucasfilm Ltd. 5 years ago also included the Indy franchise.  It’s also worth noting that the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are both wildly popular headlining attractions.

So how exactly would the Indiana Jones brand fit into Animal Kingdom? Current rumors suggest that DinoLand USA would be the ideal location to create an Indy-inspired land.  There are many similarities between the ride vehicle in DINOSAUR and the current incarnations of the Indiana Jones Adventure making it seem like a pretty seamless fit.

Indiana Jones Expansion

Out of all the attractions in DinoLand the only other one that may still retain its relevance is the Boneyard outdoor play area,  leading Disney insiders to suggest that this could easily be re-purposed into an archaeological dig site perfectly in keeping with the Indiana Jones theming.

However this still leaves the Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama section of the park which features both the Tricera Top Spin and the Primeval Whirl.   Though this is all just conjecture at this point, Disney-goers in the know are sparking speculation that the area of the park used to house both of these rides as well as the midway games could be demolished to make way for a sizable e-ticket attraction.

The Orlando Informer has also offered that perhaps the Animal Kingdom will follow in the footsteps of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios and construct a fully-immersive Indiana Jones themed resort experience.

So if all the rumors prove to be true, when could we expect such an expansion?  It’s anybody’s guess at this stage. However it should be noted that a currently untitled Indiana Jones film is slated to be released in 2020.  One possible scenario is that the project could coincide with the release of the new film or that Disney may wait to see how Indiana Jones 5 appeals to the next generation of Indy audiences before they make the leap.

So what do you think about a new Indiana Jones land coming to Animal Kingdom?  Let us know in the comments below.
