This morning American Idol auditions kicked off at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. The iconic “American Idol” bus rolled into Disney Springs yesterday to start getting ready.

The first audition hopefuls started lining up at 4am this morning!

“Idol”-winners Jordin Sparks, Kris Allen and Ruben Studdard will make special appearances and greet lucky audition participants during today’s kickoff celebration of the search for America’s next superstar.

Couldn’t make it out this morning? Don’t worry! hopefuls will still have the chance to become a part of “Idol” history by auditioning via the “American Idol” pop-up audition kiosk, which will be at Disney Springs on Friday, August 18, through Friday, September 15. During regular Disney Springs operating hours, visitors can create and submit their very own audition video at the kiosk.

As part of the Dream Big, Princess campaign going on, Disney has revealed some beautiful new Disney Princess items! A new collection is coming to the Dream Big, Princess Dooney and Bourke line, and new open edition four pin trading sets will be heading to the parks later this summer.

New Dream Big, Princess Dooney & Bourke Collection and Pins

The new Dooney and Bourke Dream Big, Princess collection will feature the original Disney Princess herself, Snow White. This collection will celebrate her milestone anniversary later this year. I love how it features an all over design of Snow White, like the Tiana bag did, instead of just a repeating pattern. Look for this new Snow White Dooney and Bourke Collection in late September.

The four pin sets will feature 4 pins each representing a princess. They would make a great compliment to a stand alone princess pin! So far four sets have been revealed featuring Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle and Rapunzel. The pins will start to appear at the Disney parks in late August and early September.

Two Downtown Disney Shops to Close for New Star Wars Virtual Reality Experience

We recently brought you news of a new virtual reality experience Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire coming to both Walt Disney World‘s Disney Springs and Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District. This new immersive experience will allow guests to move freely and interact with Star Wars characters throughout a virtual world.

Unfortunately sometimes bringing in new attractions means saying goodbye to others. In this case, Disneyland Resort announced it will be closing the doors of two shops in the Downtown Disney District. Disney Vault 28 a Disney-inspired women’s fashion boutique, and Fossil, a watch and accessories shop. No official closing date has been released, but both shops are expected to close at the end of September.

Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire is also coming to Disney Springs in Walt Disney World, although a location has not been announced. Will you miss the shops leaving Downtown Disney or are you excited for the new virtual reality experience coming? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

These gorgeous Mickey studs are made with a 925 Sterling silver setting. The clear stones are very shimmery, with one larger center stone and two smaller stones for the ears. Seven Year Old Hosts Princess Party at Disney World for Less Fortunate Children

Jordan West is a true American hero. At the young age of sever years old she was able to raise enough money for her and 14 other children to have a “Princess Party” at Disney World. What even makes it even more special, is all invited were less fortunate and foster children.

Jordan and her mom, Olivia West, managed to raise over $10,000 for the Disney visit through fundraising.

“She’s really excited to interact with the girls,” Olivia West of Rochester, New York, told ABC News about her daughter. “She writes affirmations for these girls [that say], ‘You are beautiful, you are loved.’ That really touches me as a mom and I really hope that she continues thinking about others.”

Jordan is no stranger to helping others. Her two brothers, Jeremiah, age 10, and Joshua, age 12, run their own charitable organization. “Champions of Change” gives back to the less fortunate through charitable outreach.

Jordan hosted her first “Princess for a Day” party at a local spa in New York. 24 girls attended this event and were treated to a spa day and transportation in a limo. The White House received wind of Jordan’s efforts and invited her to host another party in the White House. This time, 115 girls were in attendance.

Jordan then had the idea to host her “Princess for a Day” party on a much large scale… at Disney World! Jordan went through several different avenues to fund raise for her special party at Disney World including writing her own book. The book, entitled “Princess for a Day” is sold Amazon and the “Champions for Change” website.

The 15 girls including Jordan arrived in Orlando August 4 and were treated to a true princess experience. Everything was taken care of for them including park tickets and pink “swag bags.” Also, what visit to Disney World for a princess wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Cinderella Castle?

“They had a lot of activities for them, a lot of surprises for them along the way so I think it went very well,” said Tan Mitchell, a Florida resident who brought her foster daughter to the event and chaperoned a few of the girls. “For this organization to step in and do this was really amazing. It really did a lot to make these girls smile and make them feel like princesses for a day.”

Olivia West said, “We wanted it to be the best day ever. Learning about foster care and [how] some of these kids have traumatic experiences and unpleasant memories, it’s nice to be able to place some great memories in their memory box.”

Jordan is excited to plan more princess parties in the future.

Johnny Depp Makes Surprise Appearance at Children’s Hospital

The young patients at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia were treated to a special surprise this past week. Johnny Depp, dressed at Captain Jack Sparrow, stopped by for a surprise visit!
Depp spent about five hours visiting and joking around with the children. He was seen having fun with the children in the hallways and also visiting the rooms of the children that weren’t able to leave their beds.

He was definitely able to place smiles on the faces of all that he visited with.

The Walt Disney Family Museum to Honor John Lasseter with Lifetime Achievement Award

The Walt Disney Family Museum announced today that they will be holding their 2017 Gala on November 7, 2017 and the guest of honor and recipient of the Diane Disney Miller Lifetime Achievement Award will be none other than Chef Creative Officer of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, John Lasseter.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was set-up to recognize individuals who have made an outstanding impact in the areas of arts, education, community involvement and technological advancements.

Lasseter is receiving the award due to his contributions in the entertainment industry and in acknowledgement of his leadership and storytelling both of which have been instrumental in elevating and distinguishing the world of animation.

The gala will be held at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio of San Francisco at 6pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 and is presented by the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Family Museum. Proceeds from the Gala will be used to support the museum’s programs and activities that help nurture future generations of creative talent. The event is limited to just 180 guests.

The Walt Disney Family Museum was established to present the story an achievements of Walt Disney. The 40,000- square foot facility opened in October of 2009 and features a wide selection of historical materials coupled with the newest technology to bring Walt’s story to life.

DuckTales Full Pilot Episode ‘Woo-oo!’ is Available on YouTube

90’s kids rejoice! Disney XD has rebooted the 1987 original series DuckTales! This all new 2107 version of the series debuted its pilot episode ‘Woo-oo!’ on Disney XD August 12th, 2017. The first season will officially première on Disney XD September 23rd, 2017 with two new episodes. If you missed the première of the pilot, you can catch the full one-hour episode on YouTube, below:

In the pilot episode, Donald Duck leaves Huey, Dewey, and Louie in the care of their uncle, Scrooge McDuck. Along with a newfound friend, the three nephews uncover family secrets and find themselves on an adventure to the Lost City of Atlantis.

The series’ first season is 21 half-hour long episodes, and two hour-long specials. The series has already been renewed for a second season.

The Muppets have announced that they will be performing their first-ever full-length live show It will feature special guests, never-before-seen antics, musical performances with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and spectacular fireworks at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.

“The Muppets Take the Bowl” is more than just a concert…more than just a performance…more than just a play on an iconic movie title…it’s The Muppets as never seen before – live and in-person (ok, more like in-frog, in-bear, in-pig…etc.), with full orchestra and on stage.

Fans will join Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo, Sam Eagle, Pepé the King Prawn, beloved hecklers Statler and Waldorf, and some Muppets who have not been seen since their appearances on The Muppet Show over 35 years ago, along with conductor Thomas Wilkins, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and special celebrity guests, for this once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable event!

Overflowing with original music, classic Muppet songs, dancing, a singing-diva pig, fan-favorite sketches and parodies, boomerang fish and heaven knows what else, The Muppets Take the Bowl invites audiences of all ages to join the entire Muppet cast in a sensational, inspirational, celebrational journey from extremely humble beginnings to extraordinary Hollywood stardom.

Highlights of the show include the fabulous Miss Piggy in a show-stopping musical performance; Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, with legendary drummer Animal rocking the Bowl; debuts of all-new original chapters of Pigs in Space, Veterinarian’s Hospital and Muppet Labs; and many more extraordinary surprises, including a spectacular fireworks finale, kicked-off by Crazy Harry.

Walt Disney World Resort’s Mobile Order Rollout is Complete

Over the past few months we have been keeping you up to date on the latest additions to Walt Disney World’s Mobile Ordering service. Today I am writing to share with you that their mobile ordering rollout is complete. Disney recently added three quick service restaurants located in their Hollywood Studios park, these new additions complete this list of locations that will be offering the mobile service.

The Mobile Ordering service is available through your My Disney Experience app and allows you to skip the queue by pre-purchasing your order via the mobile app. Here is a complete list of all the quick service restaurants, on Walt Disney World property, that offer mobile ordering:

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
Pinocchio Village Haus
