Yesterday we updated you that Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground would be reopening to guests this morning. Well after being closed for over a week and a half, it is now officially open and Disney is making it a big celebration!

New Series “Science and Star Wars” Explores Real-Life Science Inspired by Franchise

Today Lucasfilm and Disney launched the debut episode of “Science and Star Wars”. This new digital series is available exclusivly on the Star Wars Facebook page. It explores the science of the Star Wars Universe!

Science and Star Wars shows just how close real-world scientists are coming to emulate the technology; and the role of the franchise in inspiring some of science’s greatest innovations.

The first episode goes under the hood to tackle the pop culture phenomena of lightsabers. Star Wars Rebels actor Taylor Gray (Ezra Bridger) discusses the mythology behind the combat lasers and explores how close we really are to harnessing the power of the galaxy’s most iconic weapon.

Over the course of 10 episodes, host Anthony Carboni and his rotating roster of scientific experts and celeb guests will experiment with technology that isn’t actually so far, far away anymore (think: Jedi mind control, Boba Fett’s Jetpack, and more). The series will explore science fantasy, science fact and the gray area in-between. Fans can catch new episodes — which will tackle one underlying Star Wars theme.

Guests visiting Disneyland will be the first to see a sneak peek of the new Thor: Ragnarok movie! Starting on October 6, scenes from the new movie will be shown in 3D at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land inside of California Adventure Park. In addition, guests in attendance will be able to see a display of props and costumes used in the production of the upcoming film.

In “Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his home world and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

Walt Disney Pictures announced some major news today for movie buffs! First, they announced the official release dates for upcoming films. In addition, they gave us some new details about new projects in the works.

In addition, Disney also gave us some more information on upcoming projects. Interestingly, the movie Magic Camp is no longer on the schedule. It is not known if this project has been completely canned or if it has just been pushed back to a later date.

The project Untitled Disney Fairy Tale now has an official title and will be called Nicole. Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader will star in the new movie. Kenrick will play the role of Santa Clause’s daughter who has been handed over the family business. Hader will play the role of her brother. A role that I am sure will bring the laughs. Nicole arrives in theatres just in time for the holidays in November 2019.

It’s also important to note the new premiere dates of Star Wars: Episode XI. The film is under new direction with J.J. Admas at the helm and will not be released on December 20, 2019.

Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground To Re-Open Tomorrow September 20th

Good news Fort Wilderness fans! Disney has let us know that the Fort Wilderness Resort will officially re-open tomorrow, September 20th. It had closed the afternoon of September 9th in order to keep their guests safe as Hurricane Irma approached. It is unclear how much damage the hurricane created but apparently Disney has completed their clean up and restoration of the property and guests are once again welcome.

To further the celebration, The Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will also resume normal operations starting tomorrow, September 20th. Both dining locations have been closed since Hurricane Irma swept through.
