Hey there gossip fans it is I, Anonymouse, with some interesting gossip that even I hope is wrong. Huge things are on the horizon for the Disney Parks. Many new additions were announced at this year’s D23 Expo so one would think that Disney is doing great right? Well you might be wrong.

Len Testa, lead researcher for TouringPlans.com, has spilled some serious beans with the rumor that layoffs are coming to the Disney Parks and Resorts. And not just a few layoffs …. but THOUSANDS! He went on to say that we could expect these cuts to come in the next few weeks.

One can’t even blame Hurricane Irma for this either. It apparently has been in the works for weeks now. Multiple factors could be causing these drastic changes like a disappointing guest turn out for Pandora, guests simply waiting on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge/Toy Story Land to open before visiting, or just the basic answer that higher ticket and lodging prices have decreased guest’s desire to go to the parks.

I’m sorry my darlings to be the bearer of bad news but that is the life of a gossip writer. As always nothing is official till Disney says it is.

A brand new LEGO ride with cutting-edge virtual reality technology has been announced today for three LEGOLAND Resorts around the world. It will take guests on the wildest LEGO® race ever imagined with roller coaster thrills. The new attraction is opening in late 2017 at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, followed in 2018 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Germany’s LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort.

Developed under the supervision of Merlin Magic Making, the company’s global creative and delivery
division, The Great LEGO Race will transform three existing “Project X” roller coasters into an exciting, high-octane experience that puts kids in the driver’s seat and asks, “Are you brave enough to face, race and beat the best of the best in all of LEGO world?”

Featuring a colorful lineup of racers drawn from the ranks of the popular LEGO minifigure mystery assortments, The Great LEGO Race pits riders in a rollicking race against wild, brick-built contraptions driven by Trendsetter, Pharaoh, Surfer Girl, Wizard and Pirate Captain, including a rocket-powered surfboard and a stylish scooter fueled by espresso. Wearing VR headsets, guests will experience the action from every direction – up, down, forward, backward and all points in between – in a dazzling environment where everything is made of LEGO bricks.

The adventure begins as guests approach the ride’s bold new entry portal as the sounds of roaring engines fill the air. Nearby, the coaster’s queue will resemble a pre-race space where pit crews for each of the five LEGO racers are preparing for the competition, plus interactive, hands-on elements to entertain waiting riders.

During the ride, Bluetooth technology will sync the virtual visuals with the roller coaster’s twists, turns, drops and climbs, creating an all-new experience filled with thrills, spills, surprises and humor – an experience only LEGOLAND could create.

“The Great LEGO Race was inspired by the way kids play with LEGO toys at home,” said Candy Holland, senior creative director for Merlin Magic Making, which designs and develops attractions for Merlin sites around the world. “It’s a unique LEGO adventure that lets kids enter an epic imaginary world made entirely from LEGO bricks, featuring a host of different themes and fun LEGO characters, all mixed up together.”

Guests can choose to experience The Great LEGO Race with or without the VR headset. A preshow video will demonstrate the experience with side-by-side views of the physical coaster track and virtual reality environment. Its gentle thrills and amusing storyline are intended for children ages 6 and up. Children under the age of 6 that meet the ride’s minimum height requirement may ride without the VR headset.

We have just learned that the Wheel of Fortune is scheduled to film some of their popular television shows in Epcot next month. The tapings will be held from October 10 to October 12.

There were free tickets available for guests looking to attend the tapings. Unfortunately, those tickets have sold out. But, who knows? If you are there, you may still have a chance to see Pat Sajak and Vanna White walking around taking in their favorite Disney World attractions!

Lucasfilm has just announced partnerships with six of the world’s most well-known brands—Christian Louboutin, General Mills, Nissan, Royal Philips, Verizon and VIZIO—for the worldwide launch of an extensive promotional campaign in support of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Lylle Breier, Senior Vice Presidents of Global Marketing Partnerships for Walt Disney Studios released the following statement:

In honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, we thought it would be fun to revisit how Pirates of the Caribbean came to be. And there is no one better to tell us than Mr. Walt Disney himself!

The clip below comes from a 1965 episode of “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color”. Walt Disney takes Disneyland Ambassador Julie Reihm on a tour through WED Enterprises for a look at Audio-Animatronics figures, sculptures, models and sketches that would launch the first Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland park.

This beloved attraction made its debut at Disneyland park in 1967 and is an essential experience at Disney parks around the world.

Star Wars: Galactic Nights Returns by Popular Demand to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Dec. 16

Star Wars fans across the galaxy, get ready for a special Disney party you won’t want to miss.

Following a sold-out event last April, Star Wars: Galactic Nights is returning Dec. 16 to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This gala evening will be filled with out-of-this-world entertainment celebrating the entire Star Wars saga.

Among many thrills in store, guests will be treated Hollywood-style to a red carpet arrival, iconic attractions with little to no wait time, amazing fireworks and projections, and experts sharing details about the Star Wars expansion coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Throughout the event (entertainment subject to change):

The Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks and Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage show will both be enhanced with special elements from the entire saga. In between, a DJ will keep things spinning at Center Stage for a Star Wars dance party.
The Epic Theater plays host to a special one-night-only panel discussion about Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge, sharing some of the excitement coming to the 14-acre Star Wars-inspired expansion opening in 2019 at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Park-wide, guests can step into immersive and iconic scenes from their favorite Star Wars films in a series of incredibly detailed photo locations, including a new backdrop inspired by Star Wars Rebels.
Star Wars: Galactic Nights features encounters with Star Wars characters like Ewoks, AWR Troopers and roaming droids; Jedi Knights teaching younglings in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple; rocketing to the stars aboard Star Tours – The Adventures Continue; and stunning projection effects on park icons such as the Chinese Theatre. At Star Wars Launch Bay, home base for Star Wars fandom in the park, you never know what denizens from the light or dark side of The Force will appear.
Don’t miss Darth Vader and a battalion of Imperial Stormtroopers march menacingly down Hollywood Boulevard.
Even more specialty Star Wars-themed food and beverage and merchandise will be available.
Select park attractions will be open to all guests. At embarkation points to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, guests may come face-to-face with Stormtroopers on the lookout for a Rebel spy.
Come dressed in your finest Star Wars Arriving park guests will walk a red carpet that runs the length of Hollywood Boulevard. The street itself will be dressed in all the trappings of a Tinseltown premiere.

Callers to 407 WDW-PLAY (407 939-7529) will be able to sign on for premium offerings such as a Galactic Tasting Sampler (food and beverage items including lightsaber churros and a charcuterie with C3PO crackers).

Park access and activities will be exclusive to Star Wars: Galactic Nights ticket holders. Event hours on Dec. 16 are 7 p.m.-midnight. Tickets are priced at $129 adults, $124 ages 3-9 (discounts available for Annual Passholders & DVC Members). Purchase tickets at DisneyWorld.com or call 407-W-DISNEY (407 934-7639).
