Hong Kong Disneyland has Record-Breaking Marvel 10K Weekend

10,000 runners participated in Hong Kong Disneyland‘s Marvel 10K Weekend 2017 – presented by AIA Vitality, the largest participation yet. The weekend’s events were comprised of four races, including kids races, a Spider-Man 3K, a Thor 5K, and the Captain America 10K. Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, and Star-Lord; as well as Black Widow, Gamora, Doctor Strange, and Hawkeye – the first appearance of the four superheroes at Hong Kong Disneyland.

The Marvel characters weren’t the only heroes of the weekend, race participants did their part to make a difference in the world by becoming ‘green heroes,’ bringing their own water bottles and drinking from reusable cups during the weekend’s events. The event also helped raise awareness and provided support to the Hong Kong Association for Cleft Lip and Palate.

Tropical Storm Jose

Today, guests aboard the Disney Magic were informed that their westbound transatlantic itinerary would be altered due to Tropical Storm Jose. The Disney Magic was scheduled to make a stop in St. John’s Newfoundland this Sunday, September 24. The updated itinerary now has an additional Day at Sea but will dock in New York a day early. Passengers are welcome to explore New York during the last day and still spend the night aboard the ship before departing on the 27th.

Disney Cruise Line has stated that the September 27th sailing out of New York should not be impacted and no ports changes are expected at this time.

With Halloween coming up, I love mixing in spooky twists on my Disney loves. I’m especially loving this poison apple twist on these Dole Whip Earrings from Enchanted Candy on Etsy. I know I would fall for this spell, I mean after all, who can resist a delicious Dole Whip?

These are an exclusive Enchanted Candy Carousel original design. A dark pineapple yellow Mickey apple is covered with sparkling melted Dole Whip! The earrings are of course topped with a tiny cherry, just like the Disneyland Dole Whip. These handmade darlings are a good size, so they’ll be noticeable! They are great for everyday wear, or DisneyBounding! I think a “Poison Pineapple Dole Whip” outfit is definetly on my list now! Move over Dole Whips, turkey legs and Mickey Ice Cream Bars, there’s a new Disney treat creating a stir, the Mickey shaped giant doughnuts being served up over at Shanghai Disney.

This edible work of art features three ring doughnuts, rose pink icing and rainbow confetti sprinkles.

Chase Visa and Disney Renew Partnership Agreement

Speculation has been circulating for a while now that the Chase Disney Visa cards would soon be a thing of the past.  Adding fuel to this rumor was the announcement earlier this Summer that Chase was pulling out of its sponsorship of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and that the Chase Dinsey Visa Lounge, a popular spot for festival guests to relax and unwind would not be available this year.

However, it looks card-carrying Disney Visa members are safe, at least for a little while longer.  The announcement was made earlier this week that Disney and Chase have renewed both the Disney Premier Visa card and the Disney Visa debit card as part of a multi-year agreement. This continues a longstanding partnership between the two companies which has lasted well over a decade.

Leslie Gillin, President of Co-Brand Credit Cards at Chase had this to say about the partnership: “Our relationship with Disney for a co-branded card program spans nearly 15 years, and this extension reinforces our shared commitment to bring exceptional rewards and experiences to our Disney Cardmembers. It’s an honor to work with such a distinguished brand known throughout the world for creating happiness.”

This sentiment was matched by Priya Girishanker, Senior Vice President and General Manager of co-branded cards for The Walt Disney Company who added, ““We are very pleased to extend our longstanding relationship with Chase. Disney is beloved for its storytelling and for creating memories that last a lifetime, and Disney Visa lets Cardmembers access the best of Disney and share those magical experiences with their family and friends.”

The Disney Visa cards have long been a fan favorite providing Disney guests with nice perks including theme park discounts, merchandising discounts at the Disney Store and disneystore.com as well as exclusive character meet and greets and priority booking for select Disney events.
