Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian at Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Oct. 8

Are you a fan of the Food Network’s Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian? Then you won’t want to miss his appearance at this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival “What’s Cookin’ With…” session on Oct. 8 in the Festival Center.

What better way to start your day than breakfast with Zakarian? He’ll be onstage creating fabulous shrimp and grits as well as offering tips, tricks and insights. Then you’ll have the opportunity to ask him question.

We caught up with Zakarian at The Food Studio in New York City, where he shared his favorite things to do at Walt Disney World Resort.

Karen McClintock gave you a first look at this year’s 17th annual Haunted Mansion Holiday gingerbread house at Disneyland park last week. Now take a look at how the Oogie Boogie and bug-filled house came together from the creative teams at the Disneyland Resort Central Bakery along with the talented techs in Entertainment Production. They installed two time-lapse cameras in the Grand Ballroom the Friday before it was finished. As you can see, it was a true team effort!

It’s any true Disney-lover’s dream come true: Getting married inside one of the Disney Theme Parks. Well, for Sarah and Gilbert, their dreams came true! They were recently married and had their ceremony and reception at Disneyland’s California Adventure Park.

As you can imagine, everything was Disney-themed down to the very last detail. Guests were given Mickey-shaped fans to cool off from the California sunshine. Table numbers were represented by “Disney couples.” The wedding cake was Up-themed featuring Dole whip and Churro flavors!

The magic doesn’t end there though. The wedding couple and their guests were also treated to a private viewing area for World of Color and a spin on Toy Story Midway Mania after the park officially closed. And, of course, what wedding at Disney would be complete without a visit for the Mouses themselves? Yes! Mickey and Minnie stopped by the reception to congratulate the happy couple!

Epcot’s 35th Anniversary is Sunday October 1st! For guests celebrating the 1982 opening on October 1, therse is a special “I Was There” merchandise collection.

Big Hero 6 is making its animated series debut this November on Disney XD and we couldn’t be more excited! The series picks up immediately following the riveting events of the feature film. To help tell this new story, a whole cast of familiar voices have returned to reprise their roles from the movie: Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass; Jamie Chung as electromagnetics specialist Go Go; Scott Adsit as everyone’s favorite inflatable health assistant, Baymax; Alan Tudyk as tech guru Alistair Krei; Ryan Potter as robotics prodigy Hiro; Genesis Rodriguez as the bubbly chemist Honey Lemon; David Shaughnessy as the butler, Heathcliff; and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee as out by newcomers Fred’s dad.

We’ve been having spooky fun all week at the Disneyland Resort as the Halloween season kicked off in a major way. But it’s not just the parks that are getting into the ghoulish fun. Downtown Disney has been decked out in festive Halloween decor, special fall-themed landscaping, and even has seasonal entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

Check out all the tricks and treats ready for you to discover!

Halloween Fun At Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort

Harvest Horticulture: The first things Downtown Disney visitors will notice are the pumpkins! There are more than 1,600 real pumpkins incorporated into the landscaping. You can see them nestled in planters among flowers and raised high above in towers. Traditional plants such as mums and marigolds are on display as well as a mix of tropical fall plants like canna lilies and copperleaves.

Halloween Sweets and Treats: Make sure you stop by Sprinkles. For a limited time only, you can pick up a Halloween BOO box loaded with Vanilla Milk Chocolate, Red Velvet, Black and White and Caramel Apple cupcakes. At Wetzel’s Pretzels, enjoy pumpkin spice bitz with pumpkin caramel dipping sauce!

You can also enjoy some Halloween themed liquid refreshment at UVA Bar and Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen who are serving up some Halloween-inspired cocktails. Jamba Juice has created Pumpkin-flavored smoothies that will also hit the spot.

We have been enjoying the 2017 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival for weeks now and it’s not just the food that is impressive. The gardens of EPCOT are in full bloom with gorgeous plants and amazing edible plants. EPCOT is offering guests many ways to heighten their Festival experience including their Gardens of the World – Fall Edition tour.

This 3-hour immersive tour, offered on select days throughout the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, gives guest a chance to interact with a Walt Disney World Resort horticulture expert and explore the various gardens of World Showcase. Disney’s expert will take guests on a journey around the world and show them a whole new side to EPCOT. Participants will not only learn about the indigenous and edible plants but also how they can adapt these plants’ growing techniques in their own gardens.

Important Information

The price of this tour is $85.00 plus tax, per Guest.
Guests must be at least 12 years of age to participate. In addition, Guests under 18 years of age who are participating in the tour must be accompanied by a paying Guest at least 18 years of age.
Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
To make a reservation, contact your Disney Vacation Specialist or call (407) WDW-TOUR for availability. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.
Tours take place on select Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM during the Festival (Aug. 31st-Nov.13th).
Epcot admission is also required and is not included in the price of the Gardens of the World tour.
You’ll be on your feet for the duration of this 3-hour walking tour. With that in mind, make sure you wear comfortable shoes and bring along water or a beverage to stay hydrated.

The wall quote decals come in a huge variety of colors, and you can stick them anywhere. They can go on a mirror, your wall, a door, any flat surface you would like to display it on. Having lots of color choices means you can tailor it to any room, and get the perfect look that you want. Best of all for someone like me who is constantly redecorating, I can take it down with out having to repaint my wall!

For the first time ever, Star-Lord will be sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line for Marvel Day at Sea! He will be joining other super heroes such as Doctor Strange and his interstellar friends, Gamora and Groot, when your favorite Marvel super heroes hit the high seas this fall!

Young Peter Quill is abducted from Earth by the Ravagers, a group of space pirates, and grows up to assume the mantle of Star-Lord. He is a master strategist and problem solver who has extensive knowledge of various alien customs and cultures. Star-Lord teams up with Gamora, Groot, Drax and Rocket to form the Guardians of the Galaxy and traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos, finding adventure at every turn.

Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival came back in a big way this year 35 global marketplace locations in celebration of Epcot’s 35th anniversary, and even more festival locations throughout the park. With a record number of global markets, the Spain Global Marketplace has returned to the festival, serving up some delicious bites and a great selection of wines.

Take a look at the full menu from the Spain Global Marketplace at this year’s Epcot International Food and Wine Festival:

Charcuterie in a Cone – Served with a selection of imported Spanish meats, cheeses, and olives with an herb vinaigrette for $6.50, or one snack credit.
Traditional Spanish Paella – Served with shrimp, mussels, chicken, and crispy chorizo for $5.25 or one snack credit.
Seafood Salad – Served with shrimp, bay scallops and mussels, extra virgin olive oil, white balsamic vinegar, and smoked paprika for $5.25 or one snack credit.
