Several brides and brides-to-be were understandably upset when Alfred Angelo abruptly closed their doors this past Summer due to their bankruptcy filing. Alfred Angelo was the premier designer of Disney-inspired princess wedding dresses.

We are now happy to report that a new designer has partnered with Disney and is making Disney-inspired wedding dresses! However, there is a catch. The new company, Kuraudia Co., is based in Japan. That means, that the dresses are currently only being offered in Japan. Also, the dresses are only available for rent.I know, I know! Not the news we were wanting to hear here stateside or anywhere else in the world. But if you do live in Japan, let’s take a look at the dresses that will be offered.

Reports state that 28 different gowns will be offered inspired by six Disney Princesses: Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Aroura, Rapunzel, and Ariel In addition to the wedding dresses, tuxedos and bridesmaid dresses are also included in the collection.

The dresses will be available for rentals starting on November 1 and will cost around $3,600 for a rental. The tuxedos are quoted to be available for rental for around $900.

These are simply stunning!

This past Spring, it was announced that Wolfgang Puck Grand Café would be closing at Disney Springs. It was also announced that a Wolfgang Puck would be opening a new restaurant at Disney Springs called “Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.” Grand Café closed its doors quietly last month and construction is currently underway on the new location.

Back in June, it was announced that Chef José Andrés would be opening the next location of his popular Spanish-style restaurant, Jaleo, to Disney Springs. Today, we wanted to share some photos of the construction progress on the new restaurant.

Chef José Andrés is proud to announce that Jaleo will be opening a new location at Disney Springs in 2018, bringing the spirit and flavors of Spain to the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The new Disney Springs location will be José’s biggest and most spectacular Jaleo yet, housed in a dynamic, multi-level space at the iconic resort.

Jaleo at Disney Springs will feature an extensive menu of tapas reflecting the rich regional diversity of traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine. Highlights will include a variety of authentic paellas cooked over a wood fire, Spanish specialties such as hand-carved Jamón Ibérico de Bellota and wood-grilled Ibérico pork, as well as signature dishes such as Gambas al ajillo, shrimp sautéed with garlic and chili, and Croquetas de Pollo, classic Spanish chicken fritters.

Jaleo is one of the several new restaurants coming to Disney Springs in the next several months.

Sounds delicious! I can’t wait for it to open and give their paella a try!

Halloween Time

Halloween Time is in full swing at the Disneyland Resort and this year the spooky festivities have expanded to Disney’s California Adventure Park. The Halloween decor is taking over the park and Cars Land has received a ghoulish makeover, from your favorite Cars characters donning their costumes, to Halloween themed attraction changes, Radiator Springs has transformed into the spookiest little town in Carburetor County.

Even the food has undergone terrifying transformations, at Cars Land. Flo’s V8 Cafe is serving up a Halloween Time menu during Cars Land’s Haul-O-Ween season, featuring a main dish that puts a creepy twist on a classic comfort food. The Car-Achnid Pot Pie, a chicken pot pie with dried cranberries and butter-crust spider, offers the comfort of a home cooked meal with a touch of the Halloween spirit. The pot pie is served with a side of coleslaw for $11.99.

Also on the Halloween menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe:

Grape Ghoul-Ant Shake for $5.49.
Candy Corn Pie – cream pie with vanilla, butterscotch, and white chocolate pudding, for $5.39.

Chef Buddy Valastro Returns to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

Carlo’s Bakery head and celebrated pastry Chef Buddy Valastro is returning to this year’s Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Carlo’s Bakery, featured on TLC’s Cake Boss, is a legendary bakery known for delicious pastries, desserts, and cakes.

Chef Buddy will be appearing at the Festival as part of the “What’s Cookin’ With” series of celebrity chef demos and discussions. He will be hosting a crowd favorite demo and discussion on Sunday, November 12.

Disney Parks Blog recently caught up with Chef Buddy at Carlo’s in Jersey City to get a sneak peek into his festival presentation and ask him about what he and his family love to do – and eat – while at Walt Disney World.

Construction Progress of The Edison at Disney Springs

The Edison

Construction at The Edison at Disney Springs is moving right along. We stopped by this weekend to snag some pictures of the progress and we noticed that it now has windows! Every step closer to this location opening is exciting in our book.

The Edison is scheduled to open this Fall and will be part of a larger interconnected complex of four dining locations owned by The Patina Restaurant Group. We already know that The Edison is themed as a former electrical power plant and “Maria & Enzo’s” is expected to feature a speakeasy bar element, which will be part of the underground rum running tunnel. What we don’t know yet is what the Patina Group is billing as the “former airline terminal” or the fourth location with no description.

When Will Early 2018 and Military Discounts be Released for Walt Disney World?

If you are waiting on Walt Disney World discounts for the early part of 2018 to be released, then this article is for you! Historically those discounts are released around this time of the year and IF they are released this year, we should expect them to be announced sometime soon. Also, this is around the time of the year military discounts are also announced.

Last year, the Play, Stay & Dine package discount, as well as 15% to 25% off room-only bookings, was available for booking for Disney Visa Cardholders on September 28, 2016. On September 30, 2016, both of those discounts became available for booking to the general public. Previously, the Play, Stay, & Dine discount was available for arrival dates January 1, 2017, to March 7, 2017, and the room-only discount was available for arrival dates of January 1, 2017, to April 8, 2017.

Discounts for Annual Passholders and Florida residents were released for the arrival dates above in October and December, respectively.

If it’s military discounts you are waiting on, last year those were announced on September 28, 2016.

Keep in mind that discounts are never guaranteed by Disney and nothing is official until Disney makes the announcement! I always recommend to book your reservations with rates you are comfortable with and then if a discount is released, it’s just the icing on the cake! As a Travel Agent, I also can say that the past few discount releases have had extremely limited availability.

New Disney Parks Fidget Spinner Designs Available

The Fidget Spinners are starting to pop up in more and more locations in the Disney Parks, and now there are even new designs! The Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts, and Disney Parks Icons join Mickey, Minnie, and Stitch as the newest light up Disney Parks fidget spinner designs.

I think the emoji-fied Hitchhiking Ghosts are just adorable! The park icons also have the emoji style artwork as well. The designs are available in a black or white spiiner, and the LED lights activate when you push the emoji buttons. When the spinners first released they were over ten dollars a piece!

Now with any purchase you can get your own Disney Parks spinner for just $5.00, which is a pretty good deal on a light up one. Although the sign says with purchase, even with no other purchases made they are still $5.00. There’s no word on how long this promotion will last, so make sure to get yours before they spin away!

Pumpkin Spice Caramel Shake

Fall is officially here and Ghirardelli is kicking the season off right by bringing us some amazing Pumpkin drinks! Four of them to be exact, all full of chocolate pumpkin-y goodness. We stopped by the Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop this weekend to check them out and we were not disappointed.

The Pumpkin Spice Caramel Shake (pictured above) is a vanilla shake with Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Fudge swirled on the sides. Of course pumpkin spice is mixed in with a drizzling of caramel on top of the whipped cream. You also can’t forget about the Pumpkin Spice Caramel Square sitting above it all. Yum! The Pumpkin Spice Caramel Square is priced at $7.95 and in my opinion worth every penny.

Toy Story Land

Exciting news, Toy Story Fans and those counting down the days until Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios opens! It appears that safety testing on the new Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster is underway! We reported in August that the vehicles being used on the new attraction arrived in Disney World.

Unfortunately, we are still going to have to wait some time for us to ride the new ride. Disney confirmed at July’s D23 Expo that Toy Story Land will not be opening until Summer 2018.
