Update to Dining Options at Disney's Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts

It was previously announced that Captain’s Grill at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort was closing permanently and a new restaurant, Ale & Compass, would be going in its place. Today, we can confirm that Captains Grill has officially closed their doors for good.

Ale & Compass is scheduled to open later this month. In the meantime, Guests looking for a quick bite for lunch are welcome to swing by Yachtsman Steakhouse inside the Yacht Club. Yachtsman Steakhouse will be serving casual breakfast and lunch items. Some highlights of the breakfast menu are custom omelets, shrimp and grits, and of course Mickey Waffles! (Even dark chocolate Mickey Waffles!) The lunch menu will offer everything from lobster rolls to tomato and mozzarella sandwiches. To see the complete menus, please CLICK HERE.

The Ale & Compass Market has already opened. It offers snacks, coffee, and other quick bites. They will also be adding some dinner options in the near future.

Disney’s Mobile Ordering service is now available at the fan-favorite dining location, making your next visit to grab the latest hot dog of the month, easier. The mobile ordering service was rolled out at the beginning of summer, with the opening of Satu’li Canteen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Mobile Ordering allows you to bypass the queue at your desired quick service location. On your My Disney Experience app, you’ll select “Order Food” under “My Plans” then select your restaurant of choice and again select “Order Food” build your order and then select “View My Order” review your order and then select “Purchase.”

Once you arrive at the restaurant select “I’m Here.” The kitchen staff will begin preparing your meal and you will receive a notification to pick-up your food at the Mobile Order window when it is ready. It’s that simple!

The only form of payment currently accepted through the mobile ordering service, is by credit card. Guests wishing to utilize a Disney dining plan or annual passholder discount will need to order in the queue with a Cast Member. We are hopeful this will change in the future.

One of the fun things that has come from the Disney property Starbucks, are the “You Are Here” mugs. Each park has their own unique mug, and it looks like they are even updating them now! The new Starbucks Animal Kingdom Mug has a new look, with new colors.

A group of Orlando City Soccer Club players, including U.S. women’s national team star Alex Morgan, were kicked out of a Disney World park during the weekend.

Morgan and Orlando City players Donny Toia and Giles Barnes were among six people listed on an Orange County Sheriff’s Office incident report documenting why they were escorted of the park and accused of trespass.

No charges were filed in connection with the incident after the players and their friends left the park.

Orlando Pride coach Tom Sermanni deferred to the club for an official response, but he did say during a conference call Tuesday afternoon he expects Morgan to play in the NWSL semifinal match on the road against Portland Saturday.

Morgan, Toia and his wife, Courtney, were escorted out after meeting with deputies and accused of trespass. Barnes also was given a trespass warning, according to the report. The other two people are listed on the report as witnesses.

According to the report, Epcot managers called deputies to trespass several individuals who were “impaired and verbally aggressive.”

Barnes cut in front of another guest inside the U.K. pub and they later got into a verbal argument, the report says. He used curse words and was escorted out of the pub to be trespassed. As he was being taken out, the deputies were called back to help with other individuals.

“As we passed Spaceship Earth, I observed several people being escorted to the front,” a deputy wrote. “They were all being very loud and belligerent toward staff around guests.

“I observed a white female, who was later identified as Alexandria Morgan yelling, screaming and taken (sic) video and possibly pictures. She appeared to be highly impaired.”

The report goes on to say a deputy heard Morgan “make a loud verbal statement” that she knows the Orlando SWAT team.

Donny Toia was yelling with one of the managers and said he wanted to leave the park on his own instead of waiting to be escorted out, according to the incident report. When he was informed by a deputy he was not free to leave on his own, Toia got verbally aggressive and turned toward the deputy in an aggressive manner. The deputy then grabbed Toia’s left arm and spun him around, after which Toia said he could walk on his own and cooperated as he was led to a conference with his wife and Morgan.

The deputy described the three as “being belligerent, with screaming and yelling,” according to the incident report.

All three were eventually escorted out of the park.

Orlando City officials were reviewing the incident on Tuesday.

“The Orlando City SC organization is aware of a situation that occurred at Walt Disney World’s Epcot theme park earlier this week and is awaiting official communication from Disney or the Orange County Police Department,” read a statement the club gave to the Sentinel on Tuesday afternoon. “The club will address the matter internally when there is a full understanding of what occurred.”

A few days ago we reported that the Jingle Cruise was rumored to not be continuing at Disneyland this year and it was still undecided if it was going to make an appearance at Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Well we can confirm that the popular, festive attraction will return to Disney World starting November 2017! You will be able to enjoy this Christmastime overlay of the Jungle Cruise through January 2018.

Each year the Jungle Cruise at Disney’s Magic kingdom is magically transformed into the Jingle Cruise as the boat ride’s skippers set out on a holly jolly journey across the rivers of Asia, Africa and South America. And just like last year, the Jungle Cruise Skippers are homesick for the holidays so they have decided to add some holiday cheer to the job site! Guests taking the cruise will come across a queue and boathouse decked out with homemade decorations, gifts and items from back home. Each Jungle Cruise boat has also been temporarily renamed with a holiday moniker and the always funny Skippers are ready to entertain with their seasonal jokes.

Additional Eastern Caribbean Sailings Aboard the Disney Fantasy Change Itineraries

Several of the Eastern Caribbean ports that the Disney Fantasy frequents were severely damaged by Hurricane Irma. There has been no timeframe as to when these ports will reopen but it’s sounding more and more unlikely that they will reopen by the end of the year.

Disney Cruise Line has been gradually changing Eastern Caribbean Cruises to more of a Western Caribbean itinerary. Today, they have announced two more cruises that that will be changing over to a Western Caribbean itinerary. The 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruises aboard the Fantasy with departure dates of November 18 and December 2 will now have the following itineraries:

Port Canaveral, FL
At Sea
Cozumel, Mexico
George Town, Grand Cayman
Costa Maya, Mexico
At Sea
Disney’s Castaway Cay

CONFIRMED: New Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction at Epcot Will Be A Roller Coaster

Ever since the announcement was made at D23 earlier this year that Universe of Energy at Epcot would be closing to make way for a new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, Disney insiders have been speculating that Disney World could be getting its next big roller coaster.

Thrill ride lovers will be pleased to know that an announcement was made at an Epcot 35th Anniversary press event early this week suggesting that this is indeed the case. During the event, Epcot VP Melissa Valiquette confirmed that the attraction will be a coaster.

Disney sources are reporting that permits have been filed for an 11 story building that will house the coaster and that the Universe of Energy building will remain intact but will be updated and used as part of the ride’s queuing area.
