Campbell’s Soup is Bringing the Force to New York Comic-Con

Last month Force Friday II brought us many incredible Star Wars collaborations, one of them being the new Star Wars Campbell’s Soup Cans. To celebrate the alliance, Campbell’s has a surprise for New York Comic-Con attendees and residents! A new Star Wars inspired “canstallation” structure, will be stationed on the streets of New York to celebrate the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The interactive “canstallation” structure will feature characters from Star Wars: The Last Jedi made entirely out of the new Limited-Edition Campbell’s Star Wars soup cans, against the backdrop of an LED screen playing the trailer for the new film, due out on December 15. The structure will be displayed on a truck stationed on 10th Avenue at 37th Street. Comic-Con attendees and locals are invited to stop by on October 5, 6 or 7, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

“We are excited to continue to work with Disney and Lucasfilm for the third year to bring fans a new set of Limited-Edition Star Wars licensed soups to celebrate the latest film in the saga. We’re especially thrilled to support this collaboration by bringing back our popular canstallation display for film fans and Comic-Con attendees – may the Force be with you!”

In addition, Campbell will debut a new commercial in its “Made for Real, Real Life” campaign to support the Star Wars cans. The campaign, which debuted in 2015, previously featured a talked-about Star Wars themed commercial of two dads feeding their son a warm bowl of soup while reciting the memorable “I am your father” line from the 1980 film, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

Embark on a Sneak Peek of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ this Weekend at Disney California Adventure Park

Get ready to travel across the nine realms to Asgard for a sneak peek at the epic adventure “Thor: Ragnarok,” coming to theaters next month.

Catch the limited preview of scenes from “Thor: Ragnarok” starting this weekend at Disneyland Resort, featuring a display of props and costumes used in the production of the film. The “Thor: Ragnarok” Sneak Peek, presented in 3D with special in-theater effects, will be showing in the Sunset Showcase Theater at Disney California Adventure park October 6 – November 10.

In “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his home world and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

You’ll be able to fully experience “Thor: Ragnarok” when the film opens in theaters in 3D on November 3, 2017.

Soccer Star Alex Morgan Takes to Twitter to Apologize for Her Behavior at Epcot

In case you haven’t heard a group of Orlando City Soccer Club players, including U.S. women’s national team star Alex Morgan, were kicked out of Epcot last weekend. Morgan and friends were said to be” impaired and verbally aggressive.” No charges were filed in connection with the incident and the players and their friends were escorted out of the park.

I want to apologize for my actions that occurred over the weekend. I will learn from this make sure it does not happen again. #liveandlearn

Yesterday Morgan took to twitter to publicly apologize for her actions at Walt Disney World and stated she will make sure it doesn’t happen again.

We all know and love the character Maui, voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, from Disney’s Moana, but have you ever wondered how they decided what the demigod would look like? It appears that there is more to it than just Polynesian legends. Apparently Maui was partially modeled after The Rock’s own grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia of Samoa.

The connections between grandfather and grandson don’t stop there. Peter Maivia was a Samoan professional wrestler and the first of the family to enter the WWE in the late 70’s. Maivia also dabbled in acting too, appearing in the 1967 Bond film “You Only Live Twice”.

A brand new Hollywood Studios “You Are Here” Starbucks mug has been released and we are in love! This is the 3rd edition in the collection for Hollywood Studios. The mug features the entrance to the park and different attraction icons. These include the upside down car at the entrance to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the Tower of Terror, and even the adorable Green Alien from the future Spinning Saucers attraction in Toy Story Land.

I’m a fan of anything sparkly, an even bigger fan of anything rose gold, and of course a super fan of anything Disney! So when you combine all of those things together to create this Rose Gold Mickey MagicBand Keeper, it becomes the ultimate trifecta of I WANT IT NOW!

Ever since the new MagicBand style launched, I’ve loved popping out the Mickey icon and wearing it in a keeper to hang from my purse, lanyard, or belt loop. However, I have gotten a bit bored about having the same exact keeper as everyone else. When Bare Necessities launched these new sparkly accessories, I knew it was a must have. They’ve also released a sparkling black glitter Minnie Mouse keeper, with a fabric bow too!

Even though October is just getting off to a start, today is the official end of Oktoberfest – the iconic annual beer festival held each year in Munich, Germany. Don’t despair though. Disney Springs will continue to serve up seasonal cold brews and hot eats throughout the Fall!

Darcy Clark of Disney Parks Blog recently caught up with a few of her favorite craft beer connoisseurs, including Disney Springs Food and Beverage Proprietor, Jamie Entwistle. According to Jamie, “Disney Springs is a melting pot of beer options. Here, you can enjoy craft beer from a wide mix of local and national breweries in addition to tried and true favorites – each guest is sure to find their favorite style and may even expand their palate by trying something unique as they walk the promenade and enjoy our great entertainment options.”

Disney Springs Senior Duty Manager, Mike England, echoed the sentiment. Though he’s here five days a week for work, he’s often here during his weekends, too, trying out the newest beers on tap. Mike is one of the most knowledgeable when it comes to ales, lagers and everything in between, so Darcy asked him for his “Top Five” list at Disney Springs; not one to shy away from a challenge, he came back with ten.

“Here are my current favorites,” Mike shared, “they’re all Florida Craft beers, and they’re listed in no particular order, except for Cigar City Jai Alai – it always tops my list!”:

I’ll admit, I’ve only sampled about half of the brews on this list, but I’m excited to try the rest. Of course, that will give me the perfect excuse to also indulge in some of the Oktoberfest-eque, limited time menu items that are currently available at Disney Springs, namely the Bratwurst and Spaetzel from B.B. Wolf’s and the Oktoberfest Poutine from The Daily Poutine. (On the latter? Crumbled bratwurst, cheese curds, and gravy made with stout beer – don’t mind if I do!)

The newest “You Are Here” EPCOT mug has just appeared on shelves and they are adorable. This is the latest in the the park series to be released. Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom have all debuted their “You Are Here” mugs earlier this week.

This one features the different pavilions surrounding World Showcase with the overall colors in tones of blues, golds and grays.

Another EPCOT tumbler was introduced this week displaying a picture of Mickey using different images of attractions that opened with the park 35 years ago. At the center of Mickey is the EPCOT Center logo. This logo was used from the park opening in 1982, as part of EPCOT’s “Future Expo” theme, until the early 2000’s.

The new Starbucks mugs also include the EPCOT 35 Commemorative Mug that was introduced on October 1st to celebrate the park’s anniversary. Along with the Mickey tumbler, it also predominately displays the original EPCOT Center logo.
