Dave Bautista visited Give Kids The World Village

Dave Bautista visited Give Kids The World Village to meet with special fans and celebrate a $1 million donation of cash and products by Hasbro. Bautista plays Drax in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and will be featured in Avengers: Infinity War. The surprise was part of Marvel: The Universe Unites, an epic charity campaign combining the super powers of the cast of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War to help support children’s charities and count down to the launch of movie-related products on March 3.

Bautista commented, “Being here is such an honor, and to have the opportunity to spend time with the children and amazing staff of Give Kids The World who make it all happen is incredible. Hasbro’s donation will provide the gift of play and bring tremendous joy to the many children who visit.”

During his visit Bautista interacted with numerous children and delivered new toys from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War—including his new film-inspired action figure. Give Kids The World fulfills the wishes of children with critical illnesses and their families by providing them with an unforgettable trip that includes a visit to their village in Central Florida and access to Walt Disney World Resort.

The week-long charitable event kicked off with a social media challenge for the stars of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War. Cast members received special toy care packages filled with new products celebrating their Marvel character to be donated to children’s hospitals. Their mission? To create a picture or video to reveal the new toys to fans and post on social media with the goal of collectively reaching a million likes. The Super Heroes moved at record speed with their #HeroActs posts and reached the goal in less than 24 hours, unlocking a $250,000 donation to Starlight Children’s Foundation.

For visitors heading to Epcot for the 2018 International Flower & Garden Festival, you’ll want to set aside some money in your budget and head to one of these special merchandise events happening during the month of March.

The following events were revealed by Orlando Theme Park News:

Larry Dotson Artwork Signings: Larry Dotson is an internationally recognized artist that is renowned in Disney circles for his incredibly detailed paintings of Disney Parks & Resorts. He will be available on the following dates to sign artwork at the Puffin’s Roost in the Norway Pavilion: March 1- March 4th from 7-12 pm, March 15-18 from 12 – 7 pm and March 27-30 from 12-7 pm.

Laila Fragrance Event – For many female Disney fans, Laila is a must-have Epcot souvenir. This beautiful perfume is dubbed the essence of Norway for its’s blend of natural oils and Norwegian wild flowers. Creator Geir Ness will be on hand to meet with visitors March 8-11 from 12-6 pm also at the Puffins Roost.

Yardley Fragrances & Beauty Products Merchandise Event – If you’re a fan of Yardley’s fragrances head over to The Queen’s Table in the UK Pavilion and sample some of the amazing varieties. This event is taking place March 2-5 from 12-7pm and again on March 30 – April 1 from 12-7pm.

Kit Heath Sterling Silver Jewelery Event – Fan of British Jewlery designer Kit Health will want to stop by the Queens Table March 15 -16 from 12-7pm where a representative will be on hand to showcase some amazing Sterling Silver pieces.

On his most recent voyage, our one and only Chip stopped by Disney’s Animal Kingdom to give the Watermelon Salad a try and therefore we present you with the Watermelon Salad Review.

On Discovery Island, at Animal Kingdom, you can find the fan favorite restaurant Flame Tree Barbeque.

This restaurant is home to a menu chock-full of roasted chicken, smoked ribs and pulled pork. Flame Tree Barbeque's Watermelon Salad Review

It is also here that you can find the Watermelon Salad. This salad offers up sizeable pieces of watermelon mixed with feta, pickled red onion and a white balsamic vinaigrette atop a bed of mixed greens. The salad is sweet and refreshing and the onions are not over-powering. The white balsamic dressing adds the perfect touch, which really mellows out the dish.

Changes Afoot at the Stage 1: Company Store in Hollywood Studios

One of our favorite gift shops in all of Walt Disney World has to be the Stage 1: Company Store off the Muppet Courtyard in Hollywood Studios. This retail outlet is your home to Muppet souvenirs including clothes, hats, toys and pins as well as a wide range of other Disney theme park merchandise. However, what really wins us over is the theming. The shop pays homage to the Happiness Hotel from The Great Muppet Caper with lots of little details that can be found by looking around the shop! (Hint: Be sure to look up!)

That’s why we here at Chip and Co. were sad to notice that on a recent visit Stage 1, the store has dwindled down to half its capacity with construction walls set up.

As of going to print, Disney is not reporting on the construction and no information is given on their refurbishment schedule. Our very own Chip was at the park this week and spoke to Cast Members at the shop who said that they know that changes are happened but no one is quite sure what they are as of yet.

Potential Club 33 Construction Update from the Adventureland Veranda At Magic Kingdom

Hi, Chip and Co fans! We stopped by Adventureland for a quick peek at the construction progress of the currently unannounced project happening at the Adventureland Veranda. Large green walls still line the walkways but you can see more details walking across the bridge.

Potential Club 33 Construction Update from the Adventureland Veranda At Magic Kingdom

We have been watching as the back deck of the Adventureland Veranda was removed with only see the rockwork underneath. Now it appears from the roofline peaking over the scrims that the back deck has gone vertical. As Disney is still being quiet on what is officially being done here, there has been much speculation from fans.

The most likely scenario is that this will be the future location of Magic Kingdom’s Club 33. Four Walt Disney World locations of this unique and very elite membership club were announced by Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, Claire Bilby to be arriving soon. The exact locations were not announced however so there is speculation on where they will pop up.

Of course, nothing is official until Disney says it is!

The “Muppet Guys Talking” premiere is set for March 16th! Directed by Frank Oz, this special documentary will only be available online at MuppetGuysTalking.com.

Conceived by Victoria Labalme, Muppet Guys Talking brings together five of the original Muppet performers — Jerry Nelson, Fran Brill, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta and Frank Oz — who discuss with each other their individual approaches to creating memorable characters and the impact Jim Henson had on their lives and work.

Update to Opting Out of Mousekeeping at Walt Disney World

Last summer, we reported that select Guests were offered a credit for opting out of Mousekeeping at select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. We were curious to see if that offer is still available and we are happy to report that Chip just checked into a Resort this week and was offered a $10 per night Disney Gift Card for each night of his stay minus one for opting out.

Officially, per Disney, the Mousekeeping opt out is a pilot program and still in the testing phase. Guests are randomly asked at check-in if they would like to participate. It is also only offered at select Resorts and can change at any time.

We have heard that even if you do decline Mousekeeping, you can still contact them to bring you fresh towels and any other toiletry needs you may have.
