Pirates of the Caribbean Reopens Today with New Auction Scene

Pirates of the Caribbean Reopens Today with New Auction Scene

Today is the big day! The Pirates of the Caribbean reopens with the new auction scene featuring the famous “redhead” at the Magic Kingdom. The change was announced last summer and we already saw the repurposing of the controversial red-headed woman over at Disneyland Paris.

Pirates of the Caribbean Reopens Today with New Auction Scene

This has been a highly debated change within the Disney community. While many fans have a sense of nostalgia and hold dear the fact that Walt Disney himself helped work on the original attraction, others argue that we must keep with the times and Walt would have wanted the change.

Pirates of the Caribbean Reopens Today with New Auction Scene

According to Disney Parks Blog, Walt embraced change to the Disney Parks and encouraged everyone to “keep moving forward”.

In this new scene, the famous red-head has joined forces with the pirates. Now rather than being sent off for auctioning, “Redd” has pillaged the town’s supply of rum and is awaiting her turn to auction off real goods-  “Drink up me hearties, yo ho!”

Check out the video below.

Disneyland Park is scheduled to receive a similar update this spring beginning April 23rd.

Wonders of Life Interior Designer Job Posting Could Mean Big Things for that Building

Wonders of Life Interior Designer

Is there more going on at Wonders of Life than just an exterior refresh?!  Thanks to a job posting on Disney Careers it certainly seems that way.  Last week a posting for a Wonders of Life Interior Designer was opened.

The job listing, “PH-Interior Designer – EC Wonders of Life,” is looking for someone who will be “Responsible for the design and production of a shop/restaurant or attraction under the direction of a Senior or Principal ID.”  A minimum of three years of experience is required by candidates wishing to apply for the position.

Also listed as a responsibly of this position in the job posting will be to “Develop varied Interior Design project work at all stages of assigned projects from concept, feasibility or schematic design through the preparation of construction documentation in accordance with established departmental and divisional quality standards.”

So while we still don’t know what is happening at the Wonders of Life pavilion, it seems clear from this posting it’s not just the exterior getting a facelift!  But whether this building will house a new attraction, restaurant, retail space or just a re-imagined Festival/Events Center is still unknown.

At the time of posting, this listing has been removed from Disney Careers.  We have the original link to the listing – https://jobs.disneycareers.com/job/lake-buena-vista/ph-interior-designer-ec-wonders-of-life/391/7528470 – that is now taking visitors to the main homepage.

You can also see from this screen shot that the posting was originally on glassdoor but has now been listed as expired.

Wonders of Life Interior Designer Job Posting Could Mean Big Things for that Building

Because we know Disney doesn’t like to give away all of their secrets, we are thinking this job may possibly be re-listed under an alias, kind of like when TV shows create fake character names for casting opportunities when they don’t want to give away major storylines!

Keep an eye on Chip and Co for any new information we can dig up!
