New Super Hero Themed Land Coming to Disneyland and Other Disney Parks

Exciting news coming from Disney this afternoon! In the next few years, Guests at Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland will be able to immerse themselves in a different universes filled with epic heroes and adventures!

The new Super Hero-themed land will make its debut at Disneyland in 2020 with new attractions and experiences to follow later on. In this new land at Disney California Adventure, Spider-Man and the Avengers will team up with the already-in-place Guardians of the Galaxy to create an a brand new immersive Super Hero universe. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! will be the anchor of this new land. The land will expand into what is currently “a bug’s land.” Yesterday, March 19, “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” closed its doors for good and the rest of “a bug’s land” will close later in the summer when the transformation to this new heroic experience begins.

We previously reported on all the changes that were coming to Disneyland Paris. Part of the changes will be the new Marvel-themed area coming to Walt Disney Studios Park. The new area opening in 2020 will feature an attraction where riders team up with Iron Man and their favorite Avengers on a hyper-kinetic adventure.

In the meantime, Guests are invited to join an epic adventure beginning this Summer when Disneyland Paris hosts Marvel Summer of Super Heroes. This special event beginning on June 10, 2018 and lasting until September 30, 2018 invites Guests to see their favorite Super Heroes on stage for a brand new, live-action super-production featuring cutting-edge special effects and spectacular projections!

Over at Hong Kong Disneyland, expansion is already underway. Including in the expansion is a new Super Hero-themed area that will feature a new attraction that allows Guests to team up with Ant-Man and The Wasp. The Iron Man Experience which debuted last year and quickly became the the most popular attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland, will also be in this new themed-area.

Disney and Samsung Electronics are bringing beloved Disney characters to life! Starting today, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users will be able to access classic Disney characters, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, directly from their phone to add to personalized messages. Characters from favorite Disney films including The Incredibles, Zootopia, and Frozen will roll out throughout the year.

“By extending our characters and stories to new digital platforms, we are creating daily Disney experiences everywhere our audience goes, and we are able to draw in new generations of fans,” said John Love, Vice President, Apps at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “The Disney AR Emojis offer an innovative approach to content for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ and a fun way to bring magic to messages.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Blu-Ray + Digital Review

The epic second installment of the latest Star Wars trilogy is now available on Disney Digital, and coming soon to Blu-Ray and DVD! My family was over the moon (or moons) to have the opportunity to review the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Blu-Ray + Digital copy. Not only does this set bring home to incredible story of The Last Jedi, it’s packed full of bonus features too!

The film welcomes the return of original characters, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Yoda, R2-D2 and C-3PO and further explores the deepening journey of the saga’s new members, Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren. The movie was just as incredible as when we saw it in theaters, and I still got teary eyed the moment Carrie Fisher came on screen. We sat down and had a fun family night complete with Star Wars popcorn buckets, and souvenir cups, as has become our family tradition.

The bonus features were truly an extra treat. I really enjoyed the Snoke and Mirrors scene breakdown, that explained the detailed process of creating the mysterious master of the Dark Side, Supreme Leader Snoke. My other favorite feature was of course, the deleted scenes! Although not every scene makes it to the main film, it’s always very interesting to see some of the scenes that were left out, imagine how things might have turned out if they had stayed.

Walkway That Connects Polynesian and Shades of Green Closed for Refurbishment

As of March 15, the “Shades of Green Walkway” that connects the Polynesian to Shades of Green has temporarily closed for a refurbishment WDWInfo.com is reporting. The Walkway is scheduled to be until further notice with construction taking place daily from 9 am to 6 pm.

While the Walkway is closed, Guests will be able to take a bus from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) back to Shades of Green.

Signage about the closure of the “Shades of Green Walkway” has been posted at TTC, Great Ceremonial House, and the crossway of Florida Way.
