The Headless Horseman Will ‘Return to Sleep Hollow’ at the Fort Wilderness Resort for 2018

The Headless Horseman rides again! Back for another year at the Fort Wilderness Resort in Walt Disney World is the “Return to Sleepy Hollow” event.

“Return to Sleepy Hollow” invites Guests into Fort Wilderness’ Tri-Circle-D Ranch Stables to take in a viewing of the Disney animated classic “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Durning the event, Guests should be on the lookout for ghosts on the loose and even the infamous Headless Horsemen!

Dates for this year’s “Return to Sleep Hollow” are as follows:

September 28, 29, and 30

October 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31

There are two showtimes for the event at 8 pm and 10 pm.

Ticket prices for the event are as follows:

General Admission – includes a viewing of the movie, up-close encounter with Headless Horseman, and limited edition pin – $22
Premium Admission – includes reserved seating in rows six to ten for the movie, treat bag, lanyard, drink cup, up close encounter with Headless Horseman, and limited edition pin – $38
Ultimate Admission – includes reserved seating in first five rows for the movie, treat bag, lanyard, drink cup, priority access for an up-close encounter with Headless Horseman, and limited edition pin – $60

You can catch the Headless Horseman in the Boo to You Parade during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party but this is the only way to get that coveted selfie with him!

Tickets for “Return to Sleepy Hollow” go on sale 180-days prior to each event date. Tickets for the first event on September 28 go on sale on Sunday, April 1.

Animal Kingdom 20th Anniversary merchandise

This year Animal Kingdom turns 20! To celebrate, Disney has launched exclusive Animal Kingdom 20th Anniversary Merchandise. This new collection features everything from the Tree of Life, to the majestic animals that call the park home.

There is a special MagicBand for the occasion, and it features the new chocolate color we’ve been seeing pop up on bands here and there. The band features sketch drawings of many of the Animals of the park, mixed with leaves and paw prints. “20th anniversary” is printed on both sides of this new band.

Disney has teamed up with Alex and Ani once more to bring a limited edition bangle to the party! The 20th anniversary Animal Kingdom bracelet is available in gold or silver, and the charm showcases the Tree of Life on a green enamel background.

The limited edition pin is actually quite cool! This hinged golden pin features the “20” logo, with a stalking tiger in front. When you open up the pin, you’ll see a picture of Walt Disney himself with a pair of playful tigers! This pin has a limited release of 2,000.

There are plenty of apparel options available to celebrate the 20th anniversary with! There are long, and short sleeve shrits available, all featuring the new “20th” logo. There is a white lace up neck hoodie, with a bamboo stripe that looks perfect for a chilly day. A brown unisex shirt featuring Mickey Mouse on safari, and a grey shirt with a burgundy paw print for cooler days. There is also a women’s cut tee in teal, that has a silhouette of the Tree of Life in the background, and small touches of sparkle on the logo. If you’ve gotten drenched on the Kali River Rapids, you can also pick up a 20th anniversary towel featuring the Tree of Life.

You’ll find plenty of home goods available to bring the Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom home with too! Specialty mugs, drink-ware, home decor, and even a cutting board featuring the “20th” logo for the celebration are all on hand through out the park.

Disney World Removes Mermaids From Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction

Disney World’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland closed earlier this year for refurbishment. The one change that generated the most buzz was modernizing the infamous redheaded auction scene. The original scene portrayed the pirates selling off the local women including the infamous redhead in a bride auction. In the new update, the auction now sells the townspeople’s belongings rather than their women!

However, on a recent visit to Pirates, Chip noticed that there have also been some other noteworthy though slightly more subtle changes worth mentioning. It would appear that Disney World has also removed the mermaids from the beach scene near the start of the attraction.

For those familiar with the ride, you’ll notice that the boat with the skeleton mermaid is no longer there as well as the chest.

Though the average rider is unlikely to be impacted by this subtle change, many Disney World fans will definitely notice that the mermaid references are now missing from the ride.

VIDEO: Exciting Details About Toy Story Land Revealed

We are so excited about Toy Story Land! Other than the new rides and attractions that are coming to the new Land, we really don’t know much about it. Well, today Chip is at an official Disney Toy Story Land preview event and just received these exciting details about what Guests can expect!

Here are some of the highlights:

First off, Guests entering the land will be shrunk down to the size of one of Andy’s toys. Just imagine being in your own back yard surrounded by all the grass and plants. Of course one of Andy’s favorite toys, Woody will be there to greet you! In addition, Guests who enter Toy Story Land will be able to take it all in at once. All the blocks, Tinker Toys, and everything else will be right there waiting for you.
Then, it’s on to Toy Story Mania! As we have reported, the entrance to the ride is currently undergoing a refurbishment ahead of Toy Story Land’s opening. Guests in the queue will go under, over and, next to all the toys that make up what Andy calls the “carnival under his bed” while you head to Andy’s bedroom and play the awesome Toy Story Mania game.
Across the street from Toy Story Mania will be the Alien Swirling Saucers ride. The Pizza Planet toy-themed ride features dozens of little green aliens spinning through the Universe of Peperomia and you, the Guest, are along with the exciting ride! Guests will be in their own toy rockets passing through the ultimate space universe.
And, of course, one of the highlights of Toy Story Land will be Slinky Dog Dash. Riders of the roller coaster will get to explore Andy’s imagination first hand. Andy uses new and old toys alike to build the coaster that takes Guests on a tour of his entire backyard.
The place to eat in Toy Story Land is Andy’s Lunch Box. Guests will dine in Andy’s vintage wooden, rounded lunch box. Guests will dine alongside the Thermos and all of Andy’s food that he eats for lunch. Guests will also order their food through Tupperware windows.

Disney has revealed the Pixar Pier Costumes cast members will be wearing at Pixar Pier when it opens on June 23rd this summer at Disney California Adventure. The new attire has been fashioned after iconic Pixar symbols- The Incredibles and the Pixar ball we see at the beginning of Pixar films.

The Incredibles costumes were designed to resemble the superheroes suits in red and black. You can also see the Incredibles logo on the sleeve of the costumes. It’s a safe bet that we will see these over at the new Incredicoaster.

Frozen on Broadway New Trailer

Frozen the Broadway Musical opens on Broadway March 22nd and has released their official trailer. The highly anticipated musical has fans excited to be taken away to Arendelle since the announcement it was coming to the stage. The new trailer looks amazing as you fall in love with the cast.

Leading the cast are Caissie Levy and Patti Murin as royal sisters Elsa and Anna, respectively. Among those joining them are Jelani Alladin as Kristoff, John Riddle as Hans, Greg Hildreth as Olaf, and Robert Creighton as Weselton. Join Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Sven as they go on wild adventures live on stage.

“The two-act musical is the first Frozen adaptation to expand upon the original 2013 animated hit. Port Orleans French Quarter Now Offering Painting Classes on Wednesday Evenings

Here at Chip and Co. one of our favorite things about staying at a Walt Disney World Resort is all of the incredible extracurricular activities you’ll find by picking up one of the Resort Activity Calendars a the front desk. Our very own Chip is currently at Walt Disney World and uncovered a new offering at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter that has us pretty excited.

Check it out!

Painting on the Bayou is a chance for visitors to let your artistic side show. This special offering will take place at the Scat Cat’s Club on Wednesdays from 6pm – 1opm. Painting on the Bayou is an instructor-led paint class where visitors get to design your own take-home Disney-themed masterpiece. There is a $35.00 fee to participate. Weekly registration is limited to just 16 participants.

The theme for this month is Peter Pan!

If you’ll be staying at Walt Disney World Resort and would like to participate call 321.347.0750.
