Strawberry Crepes Available at Amorette's Patisserie

Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs is serving up Strawberries and Cream Crepes and they are delicious. Made using fresh cut strawberries and Chantilly cream stuffed inside a lemon chiffon cake, these crepes are a very popular item. The Strawberries and Cream Crepes are priced at just $7. Other crepe varieties include the Caprese Crepe with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and spring greens, the Ham and Cheese Crepe filled with smoked ham, Swiss cheese and Dijon mayonnaise and the classic Banana and Hazelnut Crepe with bananas, salted caramel and a delicious hazelnut spread.

Amorette’s Patisseries is also famous for it’s wonderful celebration cakes. You can order specialty cakes in the shape of domes that are inspired by your favorite Disney characters. You can choose from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Pluto. They come in a variety of flavors such as Chocolate Chiffon Cake, Milk Chocolate Mousse and Orange Pate De Fruit Jelly or Lemon Chiffon Cake, White Chocolate Mousse and Strawberry Pate De Fruit Jelly.

While you’re visiting, you can also grab a Joffery’s coffee and a pastry. Amorette’s Patisseries has plenty to choose from if you are looking to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Inspired by the Yeti (aka the Abominable Snowman) in “Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.”, this cool quick-service counter offers frozen soft-serve treats in cups and cones full of (non-dairy) lemon, vanilla, chocolate or swirled to perfection.

Perhaps a specialty treat will tempt your taste buds like the all-new Pixar Pier Frozen Parfait, a delectable blend of lemon soft-serve and blue raspberry slush. When Disneyland announced the first Star Wars event for Disneyland After Dark, tickets sold out in minutes. Due to the popularity of the event, Disneyland added another Star Wars event for the evening of May 9. I am happy to report that tickets for the second Disneyland After Dark Star Wars Event are now on sale!

The Disneyland After Dark Star Wars Event invites Guests to dress as their favorite character and celebrate anything and everything “Star Wars!”

The event includes special after-hours access to Disneyland Park with Guests for the event allowed entry at 6:00 pm. The celebration will also have a galactic dance party with character encounters along with Star Wars-themed photo opportunities and out of this world food and beverage options. Guests will receive a commemorative lanyard, special event credentials and all downloads of Disney Photopass photos from the event.

For the May 9 celebration, Guests will have the opportunity to purchase Solo: A Star Wars Story pins. There will also be additional Star Wars-themed photo options, artist showcase for Acme Archives Limited and a book signing for “It’s Your Universe”.

Tickets are available at Disneyland.com. But hurry, if these tickets sell out as first at the first event, they will be gone before you can say “Chewbacca!”

There are new drinks at Starbucks that are themed around the superheroes from Avengers! We found them yesterday at the Starbucks in Hollywood Studios. And they were yummy!

T’chai-a Frappuccino is first on deck. It’s Chai creme frappuccino with vanilla bean, caramel syrup, and caramel drizzle on top.

Yum!  Have you seen the new Paddlefish Cheesecake dessert now on their menu?

It is New York Style Cheesecake topped with fresh farm strawberry compote.  At $9.00 it’s the perfect finish to a delicious meal.

When you visit Paddlefish at The Landing at Disney Springs you’ll board an iconic paddleboat anchored on Lake Buena Vista to feast on fresh seafood and savory steaks!

For dinner you can’t go wrong with Maine Lobster served with Farmer’s Market corn and new potatoes or any of their other seafood options including Salmon, Shrimp & Grits and Blackened Catfish.  Or try one of the Seafood Boil choices! If seafood isn’t your thing there are plenty of other options for you to pick from. From Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes to Pork Osso Bucco with cheesy grits, there is something for everyone.

When it comes to lunch, the sandwich options are fantastic.  Favorites include the Lobster Roll with Maine lobster, lemon-infused mayonnaise and celery on a split top bun; the Crab Cake BLT  with bacon, avocado, cheddar, lettuce, beefsteak tomato,  and rémoulade served on ciabatta; or the Caprese with fresh mozzarella, beefsteak tomato and basil aïoli on ciabatta. You can also try a Seafood Boil or choose from a selection of dinner entrees as well.

At both meals you can (and should!) try the Tableside Lobster Guacamole made right before your eyes!

And don’t forget about their amazing selections of beverages.  They have a wide variety of beers from draft beers to  American Craft beers and Domestic and Imported options. They have great Red and White wine choices available by the glass as well.  And their mixed and rocks drinks are fantastic and include favorites like Not Everyone’s Margarita and Prohibition Mai Tai.

We visited the Sprinkles location at Disney Springs yesterday and found an awesome tequila filled surprise! They have now created a key lime cupcake loaded with George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s award-winning Casamigos Tequila. As if that wasn’t enough they have topped it with yummy key lime frosting! There is even an edible sugar disc on top displaying the Casamigos Tequila logo.

This fun cupcake is priced at $5.25 and became available yesterday but will only stick around until May 13th.

The Disney Springs Sprinkles location serves up gourmet cupcakes baked fresh daily with unique flavors and high-quality ingredients. You can also succumb to late-night cravings with a visit to the perky, pink Cupcake ATM nestled outside. Sprinkles is open daily from 10 AM until Midnight and is located in The Landing section of Disney Springs next to Pandora Jewelry and Frontera Cocina.

Check it out “Phineas and Ferb” fans!  As of Wednesday, May 2nd, every episode of Disney’s global hit animated series will be available to watch on DisneyNOW.

Thanks to DisneyNOW, the first season will be available for all users, while the subsequent three seasons will be available for verified users. Fans using DisneyNow can access full episodes of their favorite Disney Channels television shows on demand for free anytime, anywhere on their desktop, smartphone, tablet or connected TV devices. Viewers who sign in with a participating pay-TV provider can also watch a live 24-hour feed of the respective network and access exclusive programming events.

Also, throughout the month of May, Disney XD will air the entire “Phineas and Ferb” library – 126 episodes, seven one-hour specials and the record-breaking Disney Channel Original Movie “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension. Episodes will air weekdays, beginning Tuesday, May 1 (5:00-8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), leading into a “Phineas and Ferb” Memorial Day weekend marathon, Friday, May 25 (5:00 p.m. EDT/PDT) through Monday, May 28 (8:30 p.m. EDT/PDT).

The beloved Emmy® Award-winning series premiered on Disney Channel in 2008. In the U.S., it was TV’s #1 animated series among Tweens 9-14 and the #1 animated TV series in prime time among Kids 6-11 from 2008-2011.

While on a jaunt through Hollywood Studios, fellow Chip and Co. writer, Heather, and myself stopped by Fairfax Fare to try their new breakfast items.

There are four main breakfast items to choose from: a Breakfast Sandwich, Loaded Scrambled Eggs Bowl, oatmeal, and a basket of baked pastries.

First we tried the Breakfast Sandwich. For $8.79 Fairfax Fare serves up an onion roll topped with eggs, ham, Swiss cheese, spinach and herb-cheese spread.

Next up was the Loaded Scrambled Eggs Bowl. For $7.99 you’ll get  bowl of scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, peppers onions and breakfast potatoes.

The scrambled eggs bowl offers a perfect blend of breakfast flavors and the breakfast sandwich has a touch of herb-flavoring which really gives the sandwich a boost. Both of these dishes were tasty, filling and provided us with plenty of energy to make it though the parks all day.

Be sure to get to Hollywood Studios and try out these breakfast items before the test phase is over.

One of my favorite segments in all of late night TV has to be the Mean Tweets bit on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” And, just because “Avengers: Infinity War” brought in over a record-breaking $250 million this past weekend, doesn’t mean its stars are immune from getting mean things tweeted at them on Twitter.

Take a look at some of the “Avengers: Infinity War” stars including Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, and Chadwick Boseman reading their Mean Tweets:

During the clip, Tom Holland gets mocked for clapping when a plane lands, Samuel L. Jackson is compared to certain reptile, and Chadwick Boseman has his name made fun of!

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs weeknights on ABC at 11:35 pm EST. “Avengers: Infinity War” is in theaters everywhere.

Disney Research Is Building Baymax From Big Hero 6

Disney Research has released hardware design labeled “Design and Fabrication of a Soft Robotic Hand and Arm System”. It looks very similar to everyone’s favorite personal healthcare companion, Baymax from the hit movie Big Hero 6. Baymax was created by Tadashi Hamada as a robotic nurse to help improve healthcare. Designed to be soft, he can assist his patients without harming them. Baymax is activated when he senses someone is in need of assistance.

“We present the hardware design and fabrication of a soft arm and hand for physical human-robot interaction,” according to the design and fabrication report. “Our goal is the realization of a robot arm and hand system which can physically interact with humans and gently manipulate objects.”

This Baymax inspired hand and arm is shown to gently ‘grasp’ a bag of marshmallows, showing the softness of the grip.

Disney Research Is Building Baymax From Big Hero 6

After the testing phase on the Baymax robotics, “the hand design was validated by implementing a grasping algorithm in which each finger follows a given trajectory until a certain fingertip pressure threshold is met.”

Researchers are hoping to better the design in the future but Baymax could be a reality soon!
