And if you want to try something a little more “Disney” for your workout every morning guests who are staying at any of the resort hotels can join a two-mile power walk through Disney California Adventure park before the park opens for guests. Pundit Stickers collection of millions of animated, static and even AR stickers is the best on the web. Users are able to easily find exactly what they are looking for with the incredible database. They also have new AR technology, allowing users to bring characters to life in real-world surroundings. They can also add them to personal photos or messaging platforms. Working closely with Google, Pundit Stickers is looking to launch AR stickers in the first wave of AR apps to be available on the Google Play store.

With “DuckTales” making a comeback last on the Disney Channel, this new sticker pack featuring everyone’s favorites from the classic will consist of AR and animated stickers, all for free. The official Disney Channel Instagram account is also hosting a #DuckTales sticker challenge. Users can share their best videos with the new stickers and the top submissions will be reposted in Disney Channel’s Instagram stories every week throughout the current “DuckTales” season.

While strolling the aisles of Target this past week, I happened upon the most adorable Disney Home collection. The trendy kid’s brand Pillowfort at Target now has a Love Mickey Home Collection! Everything from bedding to decor in minimalist and bold prints was available to deck out a room in Disney style.

The collection may be called Love Mickey, but there is also a lovely array of Minnie Mouse items to choose from as well. Lots of creative lighting fixtures are available to light up your room with Disney magic. The DisneyStyle Grand Opening is just around the corner. The Grand Opening event will be held on May 12th when this new merchandise location at Disney Springs will officailly open it’s doors to the public.

Amid the dynamically themed store adorned with a Mad Hatter teacup, Rapunzel’s floating lanterns, Small World wall art and an over-sized photo of the Magic Kingdom, customers will find an assortment of “fashion-forward” products with a Disney twist.

Inside you will find all types of accessories and apparel including hats, shirts, headbands, Minnie Ears, and even Spirit Jerseys.

The DisneyStyle Grand Opening will allow for guests to finally explore the store and get their hands on trendy items such as spirit jerseys designed for specific princesses and tops featuring Orange Bird, Mr. Toad, Big Al, Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

The Walt Disney Company’s Second Quarter Earnings for 2018 Fiscal Year

The Walt Disney Company reported its Second Quarter Earnings with the close of the fiscal quarter on March 31, 2018.

Overall, it was a successful quarter for the company with share prices increasing. Bob Iger stated, “Driven by strong results in our parks and resorts and studio businesses, our Q2 performance reflects our continued ability to drive significant shareholder value”. He went on to share that he believes the company is set up for continued growth and success with recent projects such as Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, the restructuring and reorganization of the company itself, and the DTC platforms being created for consumers.

The following chart shows the second quarter and six-month results for fiscal 2018 and 2017 (in millions, except per share amount).

The Walt Disney Company saw increases in revenue across the board from all departments including Media Networks, Parks and Resorts, Studio Entertainment and Consumer Products & Interactive Media.

Media Networks

The largest earner this quarter was Media Networks, which reigned in $6.138 billion in revenue
Cable Networks revenue increased 5% to 4.25 billion
Lower operating income for Cable Networks was primarily due to decreases at Freefom and ESPN and a loss at BAMTech
Broadcasting revenues and operating income did not see much change due to contractual rate increases that were offset by a decline in advertising revenue
The decrease to Equity in the income of investees was due to higher losses from Hulu, partially offset by higher operating costs at A&E Television Network

Parks and Resorts

Parks and Resorts saw 13% increase from 2017 and closed the quarter off with a whopping $4.879 billion in revenue
Operating income increased to $1.0 billion, a 27% growth
Growth was partially due to a shift in timing of the Easter holiday
Parks and resorts have primarily seen an increase in guest spending and attendance as well as higher sponsorship revenue which was partially offset by increased costs
The increase in guest spending is due mostly to an increase in prices including tickets, hotel room rates, food and beverages and merchandise
Increase costs were mostly attributed to new attractions, higher technology spending, labor and inflation

Studio Entertainment

The most significant growth was seen by Studio Entertainment with a 21% increase from last year, closing the quarter with $2.454 billion in revenue
Operating income growth was due to increase in theatrical distribution, home entertainment and TV/SVOD distribution
Theatrical distribution was so successful due to Black Panther
Home Entertainment growth can be attributed to the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Thor: Raganok, and Coco

Consumer Products & Interactive Media

Increased 2% to $1.1 billion
The increase was due to an increased income from licensing due to higher minimum guarantee shortfall recognition and increased sponsorship revenue

Disney Files Permits for Upcoming Projects in Epcot

Per permits filed today with Orange County, it appears that big changes are coming to Epcot! The permits are notices of commencement meaning that work is about to begin on these projects. The permits are very vague at this point and just list Buena Vista Construction Company as the contractor which is standard procedure when Disney files permits for new projects.

While the permits don’t give much information, they do give some addresses. More specifically, the addresses listed are for “Avenue of the Stars.” If you are not familiar with “Avenue of the Stars,” it is the perimeter road that wraps around Epcot and its backstage area. It’s also important to keep in mind, all the notices of commencement filed today for Epcot list the same project name: JPEC8060.

While nothing is certain at this point, here are a few theories on what we think might be going on at Epcot:

As you know, Disney World is currently constructing a gondola system to be called the Skyliner. The Skyliner will have an Epcot stop and these permits may hint at some renovations will have to be made right inside Epcot.
There are currently two new attractions coming to Epcot that we are sure of. The first is the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster and the other is the new space-themed restaurant that will be run by the Patina Group which we learned more information about today. The permits might be related to these two new attractions. The Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster will be going in and behind the former Universe of Energy attraction where the new space restaurant is to be built between Mission: SPACE and Test Track which are a tad bit away from the entrance.
In addition to those two new attractions being added to Future World, there also is a new confirmed attraction coming to the Wold Showcase. Construction is already underway for a Ratatouille ride for the France Pavilion. In addition, rumors have been going around for some time that a Mary Poppins-themed ride would be coming to the United Kingdom. These permits might be related to either one of these projects.
As we covered this past summer, concept art was released from the D23 Convention showing a re-imagined Future World. These notices of commencement might point to those changes beginning to take shape.
There has also been talks that the Leave a Legacy stones at the entrance to Epcot would be removed. The removal of the stones will allow for a full refurbishment to the entrance to Epcot.
Finally, there has been online chatter that a new Resort would be built right at the entrance to Epcot and be themed as a Future World Resort.

In addition to these permits for Epcot, there were also notices of commencement filed today for the Magic Kingdom area and even Animal Kingdom.

While we don’t know for sure what might be coming to Epcot, once thing is for certain with these notices of commencement – change is coming! Keep following along with us here at Chip & Co. for all the latest on these developments.

TCM Treasures from the Disney Vault Summer Lineup has been Announced

TCM Treasures from the Disney Vault summer lineup

The TCM Treasures from the Disney Vault summer lineup has been announced. Beginning at 8pm ET on June 6th and hosted by film critic Leonard Maltin, you’ll be able to view a wide variety of Disney classics for the entire family to enjoy. This will include animated shorts, feature films, live-action movies, documentaries, nature films and made-for-television movies.

The schedule for June 6th is:

8:00 pm: A Trip Through the Walt Disney Studios (1937)

8:15 pm: The Best of Walt Disney’s True-Life Adventures (1975)

10:00 pm: The Legend of Lobo (1962)

11:15 pm: Greyfriars Bobby (1961)

11:15 pm: Society Dog Show (1939)

1:15 am: Pluto’s Purchase (1948)

1:15 am: Big Red (1962)

3:00 am: Moose Hunters (1937)

3:10 am: Benji The Hunted (1987)

4:45 am: The Biscuit Eater (1972)

As with other airings, these programs go well into the wee hours of the morning the following day so you’ll want to set a DVR so you don’t miss anything!
