Disneyland Paris is the latest Disney Park to add a new adventure to their popular Star Tours attraction. With state-of-the-art technology, flight simulators, digital 3D, Audio-Animatronics characters, special effects, epic music and 60 possible mission combinations … Star Tours: The Continuous Adventure takes you on a new, epic, intergalactic adventure.

Beginning on November 22, the Disneyland Paris attraction began giving Guests the chance to experience Crait, the planet of the new movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Imagine a flight threatened by the Dark Side of the Force with Kylo Ren or the Stormtroopers of the First Order, a mission where you will be helped by Maz Kanata or BB8, Finn or Poe Dameron … You will travel in total immersion in the universe of all the latest Star Wars movies.

Writers Guild of America West Publicly Opposes the Disney Fox Deal

The Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) has issued a statement expressing their opposition of the Disney-Fox merger announced on Thursday.

The statement reads:

“In the relentless drive to eliminate competition, big business has an insatiable appetite for consolidation. Disney and Fox have spent decades profiting from the oligopolistic control that the six major media conglomerates have exercised over the entertainment industry, often at the expense of the creators who power their television and film operations. Now, this proposed merger of direct competitors will make matters even worse by substantially increasing the market power of a combined Disney-Fox corporation. The antitrust concerns raised by this deal are obvious and significant. The Writers Guild of America West strongly opposes this merger and will work to ensure our nation’s antitrust laws are enforced.”

The Writers Guild of America West (WGAW)  was founded in 1933 and serves as a labor union that represents the interests of writers of motion pictures, television, radio, and Internet programming, including news and documentaries. The Guild negotiates and administers contracts that protect the creative and economic rights of its members. It is involved in a wide range of programs that advance the interests of writers.  WGAW is also active in public policy and legislative matters on the local, national, and international levels.

Star Wars collectors heading to Disneyland will want to be sure to make a special pit stop at Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland where Disney is offering a Captain Phasma collectible stein.

The stein comes filled with your choice of fresh fruit- pineapple or grapes and retails for $12.99.  As with most Star Wars collectibles, merchandise is limited so be sure to pop by and pick one up as soon as possible.

There Were Many Upset People At Burbank AMC after ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Starts Without Sound

After months of anticipation, dozens of Star Wars fans were agreeably angry when the “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” began to play with no sound at a Burbank theater Thursday night.

Several posts to social media show fuming fans standing in the lobby of the AMC Burbank 16, 125 Palm Ave., demanding management start the movie over again.

According to Twitter user, Isaias Rodriguez, theater management attempted to appease the angry fans by either moving them to another screening at the same theater — albeit not in the IMAX format — or to attend a screening of the much-anticipated film at another AMC theatre Friday.

Despite these options, many fans were not satisfied.

Despite the problems, it appears the issue may have only been with the IMAX screening.

The disturbance became so tense, there were reports police were called to the theater.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Rakes In $45 million Thursday Opening

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is already on track to earn the biggest box office opening of 2017, and it has only been in theaters for a few hours.

According to Disney, Rian Johnson’s new installment scored an estimated $45 million in Thursday previews, earning the second-highest domestic preview total of all time. The Last Jedi’s Thursday total puts it right behind 2015’s The Force Awakens, which still holds the record with $57 million in Thursday previews.

The Last Jedi also easily beat last year’s Rogue One, which posted $29 million for its Thursday opening.

Beauty and the Beast currently stands as the biggest domestic opening of 2017, earning $174.8 million in its opening weekend. The film’s big Thursday suggests that it’s on track to easily clear $200 million for its opening weekend domestic total.

Internationally, The Last Jedi has earned an estimated $60.8 million in territories like the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Brazil, Sweden, and more. As of Friday morning, its global total stands at $105.8 million — and climbing.

The Last Jedi is in theaters now.

As we previously reported, the wonderful worlds of Pixar will get a new home at Disney California Adventure Park when Pixar Pier opens in summer 2018, transforming the area that is now Paradise Pier with the thrilling, new Incredicoaster, four new imaginative neighborhoods, plus entertainment, themed food and beverage, and merchandise. Guests will experience Pixar stories and characters in incredible new ways on this seaside waterfront at the Disneyland Resort.

Today Disney is bringing us a new video that Imagineers have created to tell us more about the Incredicoaster. This new experience will have guests racing alongside the Parr family as you attempt to catch baby Jack-Jack with a super combination of character figures, lighting and special effects!

Celebrate the New Year In Style With a Special Dinner at Epcot's World Showplace Pavilion

Guests looking for an extra special way to ring in the New Year while at Walt Disney World are in luck as Epcot will be hosting a special New Year’s Eve Dinner at the stunning World Showplace Pavilion.

The dinner will include an amazing array of delicious courses starting with savory soups and salads including an antipasto salad with basil, grilled vegetable and bean salad, a roast Ruskin tomato and basil soup and a creamy seafood and corn chowder.  There will also be a smorgasbord of incredible entrees from seafood mac and cheese with butter-toasted panko to parmesan-crusted chicken breast with lemon caper sauce.  There’s also gluten-free options like mojo-roasted port, oven-baked cod or demi-braised beef with mushrooms and pear onion.

In an event that promises to be fun for the whole family, there are also fun options for the kids including chicken fritters, baked Minnie corn dogs, meatballs and a Nutella-stuffed chocolate Bundt cake for dessert.

“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….”

In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

It’s no surprise that Director Rian Johnson has taken it upon himself to create not only one of the strongest films in the Star Wars saga but possibly one that completely alters the series moving forward.

The film’s secondary storyline, which has characters Finn, Poe, Leia, and Rose standing off in their final hour against the First Order also gives us some screen time with these characters. At times, the Finn and Rose side of the story doesn’t always feel as transparent as everything else in the film, it still works thanks to John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran. The two are so much fun to watch together on-screen, and the spark they have shared is undeniable.

The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.

Carrie Fisher in her final performance as General Leia gave the perfect cap to her character in a way that only she could. It’s heartbreaking to think we’ll never see her on-screen again, bringing the most iconic character to life. Though in a lot of ways, her final performance, which is arguably her best in the role, under Rian’s watch. He loves the character, and brings her back to a place of power and really lets her stand out in a way that we haven’t seen in almost thirty years. It’s also interesting that Leia is instrumental in the idea of not only letting go of the past, but lighting the fire in those to preserve the future of the galaxy, and that may be the best place to leave that character.

The film’s entire third act plays as one of the most wonderful, emotional, and fantastic pieces of the series to ever be put on-screen, and while forever altering the series forever. It’s an incredibly fine line to play nostalgic and trying to change things, but Johnson has done an amazing job doing just that here.

Fans of Star Wars may not love everything Johnson has done with The Last Jedi, but make no mistake, he’s made a fantastic film that will be long remembered. In a lot of ways, this is exactly the film this saga needed, even if we weren’t asking for it. The Last Jedi is the tip of the iceberg for what the series can be moving forward, and we can’t wait to see where it goes next.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year when children awaken to discover favorite toys beneath the Christmas tree, like pals from Disney-Pixar’s blockbuster animated film, “Toy Story.” During the show, viewers will ride along for a sneak peek at the new Toy Story Land opening next summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.  The show will offer a glimpse of the family-friendly Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster and the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction, both of which will join fan-favorite Toy Story Midway Mania! in the new land.

The stars of a galaxy far, far away will shine brightly Christmas morning as viewers also get a preview of the Star Wars-themed land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, opening at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida and at Disneyland Park in California in 2019.  Adventure on a galactic scale will be on tap when park guests take control of the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission and join a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Disney’s star couple, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, will get in on the holiday action when viewers learn about the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, also planned to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It will be the first ever Mickey-themed ride-through attraction and will feature a new original story and lovable theme song.

Viewers will also learn more about Pixar Fest, the biggest theme park celebration of stories and characters from Pixar Animation Studios, opening at the Disneyland Resort April 13, 2018. Viewers will be able to “Glow at Home” during select performances in the holiday special, thanks to the brand new “Made with Magic® 3.0: Connected Ear Hat” and the Shop Disney Parks app. Leveraging Bluetooth® technology, the Shop Disney Parks app enables viewers wearing the new 3.0 edition ear hats at home to sync with the Christmas Day special playing on the viewers’ TVs or other devices. Viewers will feel like they are part of the show.

The app also has a remote-control feature to adjust the ear colors and speed of the strobe – a brand-new feature for the Made with Magic® Ear Hats. If viewers at home don’t have the special edition ear hats, the Shop Disney Parks app will allow them to enjoy a second screen experience as their mobile phone comes alive, mirroring the spectacle on-screen during select performances. Will Disney Still Release R Rated Films After Fox Acquisition?

Disney’s recent acquisition of 21st Century Fox is leaving many wondering what this will mean for the networks R-rated movies including Marvel’s Deadpool franchise.

However, according to a recent piece in the Hollywood Reporter, it looks like fans of the film will be safe. Bob Iger addressed the future of Ryan Reynolds’ character during a recent press conference.

According to Iger, ” Deadpool clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool. As long as we let audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine.”

However, that didn’t stop Ryan Reynolds from making the following joke on his Twitter account earlier today:

 

Only time will tell what the merger means for more adult films using Marvels X-Men characters such as Deadpool, Wolverine and the Fantastic Four.  But for right now the future looks promising.
