My favorite part of any Magic Kingdom day is the fireworks. And when the new Happily Ever After show debut last year, it was simply breathtaking. The music, the projections on the castle, the fireworks. It’s all just perfectly done. Disney really brings to life these stories in the show.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at Walt Disney World Needs Dancers

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is a wickedly fun celebration during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party at Magic Kingdom. The mischievous Sanderson sisters will be back this year for a spooky good show but they need dancers to pull it off!

Auditions are being held at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Research Facility on May 15th at 7:30 PM EST and May 16th at 10:00 AM EST with sign ups occurring for an hour prior to the audition times. They are specifically looking for “male and female dancers with great technique and hip hop skills. Good acting a plus; must be able to easily interact with Sanderson Sisters.” Dancers should “be warmed up and ready to begin at the time listed.”

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party is a special ticketed event happening on select nights at Disney’s Magic Kingdom this fall. Catch the Sanderson sisters on stage for the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Happy HalloWishes Fireworks show and the Boo To You Parade. Little ones will enjoy trick or treating around the park and dancing the night away at the Scream-o-ween Dance Party. 2018 dates are August 17, 24, 28 and 31, September 3, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28 and 30, October 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30 and 31.

Be sure to stop by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Research Facility May 15th or 16th for your chance to party with the Sanderson sisters on stage this fall. Form fitting attire is recommended to audition.

World of Color at California Adventure Will Return Beginning on June 22nd

World of Color Returns

Fans of Disney California Adventure’s dazzling nighttime water pageant will be pleased to know that World of Color will return beginning on June 22nd.

The evening production which,  premiered back in back in 2010, has been on hiatus while Disney transforms the Paradise Bay area of the theme park to Pixar Pier which will make its official debut this Summer on June 23rd.  Highlights of this newly-themed area will be the conversion of California Screamin’ into an Incredibles themed coaster as well as the rebranding of Mickey’s Fun Wheel to the Pixar Pal-A-Round.

Disneyland has not yet released park hours beyond the 23rd of June but World of Color does appear on the June 22nd and 23rd schedule with a performance on both nights taking place at 10:15. Here’s a look at the website:

World of Color Dining Packages as well as World of Color Dessert Party tickets are also available to book now for June 22nd and 23rd.

No More Silliness at Whispering Canyon Cafe!

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge was always known for their good food and fun and lively atmosphere. The wait staff was always known for bringing you PLENTY of what you asked for! If you wanted more ketchup, every waiter in your area would bring you their ketchup bottles. If you wanted more drink, they would bring you multiple glasses just to make sure you would not get thirsty for the rest of the meal. If you asked for a straw, they would throw a handful on the table. There would even be a “rodeo” where Guests could run around on wooden stick horses! Sounds fun, right?

Apparently not. There was confirmation yesterday from Disney starting that these antics were no more. See tweet below.

No More Silliness at Whispering Canyon Cafe!

We do not know why they stopped the silliness. But it’s disappointing for sure. Of course, there were the select few who didn’t want to partake in the fun, and that was ok. You could just tell your waiter you didn’t want any of it.

Even though the antics may be gone, the food is still delicious!

I wanted to share the cutest thing for moms and kids to do together this Mother’s Day weekend. YouTube Kids created this video on how to make a Lion King-themed veggie platter featuring Simba! together in honor of their “Month of Making.”

YouTube Kids is inviting kids and tweens to get inspired to create something awesome with their Month of Making. Through May 31st, kids can learn how to piece together a robot, learn about coding, create arts and crafts, and much more! The month of Making aims to inspire viewers on-screen to create something magical off-screen. The month’s in-app moment also features exciting playlists, including one from Kari Byron (“Mythbusters”) and GoldieBlox, where the popular TV host shows kids how to make stuff/do stuff, as well as a Peppa Pig playlist celebrating Month of Making.

The YouTube Kids app is the first Google product built from the ground up with kids in mind. The app makes it easier for children to find videos on topics they want to explore and is available for free on Google Play and the App store. YouTube Kids continues to put parents in the driver’s seat with additional parental controls that allow parents to choose what is right for their family.

Orlando Magic Players Visited Blizzard Beach for a Family Fun Day

Orlando Magic players visited Blizzard Beach

With the NBA regular season over, what else is there for player to do but head to Disney World?!  Orlando Magic players visited Blizzard Beach recently for a refreshing day at one of the coolest spots at Walt Disney World! Magic players D.J. Augustin, Shelvin Mack and Terrence Ross, and their families, visited this ski resort-themed water park and got their summer off to a cool start!

There is fun for all ages at Blizzard Beach.  Tike’s Peak, an area designed for kids ages 2-5, was the perfect spot for these guys and their little ones with miniature slides and a snow-castle fountain play area. D.J. and Shelvin also raced down the Downhill Double Dipper, while Terrence and his family splashed around Melt-Away Bay, the one-acre wave pool at the base of Mt. Gushmore.

And because these players are always up for a challenged the took the plunge and headed down Summit Plummet, which sends you free falling from 120 feet high at 55 mph. I’ll be honest, I’m not brave enough to try that one – are you?!

“Blizzard Beach is amazing,” Terrence said after their day at the park. “There’s a lot to do and all the attractions were amazing… the wave pool had my little man tuckered out. We had a good time.”

And because it’s shaping up to be an Incredible Summer at the Walt Disney World Resort, you can channel your inner hero with Incredible Family Fun at Blizzard Beach, inspired by Disney•Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” animated film opening in theaters on June 15. From May 25 through July 4, this limited-time experience features a DJ Dance Party (on select dates), scavenger hunts, duck races, obstacle courses and “Incredibles”-themed giveaways. These activities will be offered throughout the day in what will be a “super” fun time! Oh, and check out this super cute Sand Pail snack while you’re there too! It’s adorable and tasty!

You won’t want to miss spending the day at Blizzard Beach during your Walt Disney World vacation.  it’s the perfect way to chill-out between park days and have a little family fun in the sun!

While this weekend is Mother’s Day, it’s never too early to start thinking about Father’s Day! Disney Vacation Club members can do something extra special for Father’s Day this year.  Inspired by Pixar Fest, DVC Members Father’s Day Lunch at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the perfect way for Dad to spend his day!

As part of Membership Magic this special event will be held at the Sequoia Ballroom at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa on Sunday, June 17th from Noon to 2:00pm.  This fun-filled event will be jam-packed with entertainment and special surprises.  Some of the fun you can expect to have includes:

  • Pixar-themed games and activities
  • Arts and crafts for guests to make
  • Visits by some Pixar Pals
  • Photo locations to captures these special memories

The tables will be custom set for parties of up to 16 guests.

The cost for this event is $53.95 plus tax for each guest age 10 or older and $29.95 plus tax for each kid age 3-9. The full payment is due at the time of booking and a credit card is required as a guarantee.  Please note that any cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to avoid surrendering the full payment.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Disney Show Artist, Stephen Ketchum, has taken the time to teach all of us how to draw Chip from Beauty and the Beast. Afterall, is there a Disney character with a more amazing mother?

Stephen has put together a video with step by step instructions to help even the most unartistic individuals create something resembling this friendly Disney character from the animated classic.

In the movie, Chip (a teacup) is the son of Mrs. Potts (a teapot) who guides her young son as he watches Belle and the Beast as their relationship evolves into one of a loving nature. Chip and Mrs. Potts also join forces with the other objects around the castle to fight off Gaston and the mob when they come for the Beast.

Pixar Music Popping Up Around Disneyland

Pixar Music at Disneyland

Pixar Fest is rockin’ and rollin’ throughout the Disneyland Resort to the soundtrack of all things Pixar! All of our favorite Pixar music is on display throughout the parks and has turned Pixar Fest up to volume 11.

Wander through the streets of Disneyland Park and California Adventure and you’ll hear familiar Pixar music as it takes on many shapes and forms as it’s performed by the Dapper Dans, jazz bands, marching bands, and even Mariachi. You’ll find it hard to resist tapping your toes, swaying along or just belting the lyrics outright to “You’ve Got A Friend In Me”.

Bet you can’t watch this video without singing along!

The Pixar music festivities will be ending along with Pixar Fest on September 3rd, so be sure to stop by and enjoy your favorite songs as they are performed in a variety of genres.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie Reportedly Shooting in Spring 2019

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie Reportedly Shooting in Spring 2019

A new report states that the long-rumored Star Wars spinoff film, Obi-Wan Kenobi is now in official pre-production. According to comicbook the shoot slated for a spring 2019 shoot and the film hitting theaters in 2020.

“The project is sufficiently along that an art department is now in full pre-production mode at Pinewood Studios, England with ancillary work being carried out at Industrial Light & Magic in London. A number of concept artists, prop modelers, and storyboard artists are working as a team across the two locations on the film, with the group growing in numbers every month.
Contracts have also been extended to a number of crew who have worked on various Star Wars films produced at Pinewood under the Disney era, to join the production when their work on Episode IX ends…

Pre-production will continue at Pinewood whilst Episode IX shoots from this summer through the end of the year, at which point production of the Obi-Wan movie has been scheduled to move onto stages in mid January 2019 with the main shoot to begin in April of 2019.

The project is being developed under the corporate name of PLT Productions (UK) Ltd. The scheduled release date is December 2020.”

This is right on the heels of “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. Let’s hope this is all credible. if so, we can expect casting and production announcements soon!

Gfinity FIFA 2018 Spring Cup Live Esports Finals Contested This Weekend at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Sixteen of the best video game players from the United States, Canada and Mexico will bring their significant gaming skills to the most magical place on earth this weekend as the Gfinity FIFA 2018 Spring Cup Live esports Finals – a competitive video game tournament – gets underway.

The two-day tournament, which will take place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort, begins Saturday, May 12 and concludes Sunday afternoon.

The tournament, which marks the first time Disney will host an esports event at the sports complex, will showcase the sixteen players competing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 formats. The tournament also is a continuation of Disney’s efforts to expand its portfolio of hosting new sporting events at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

All 16 players earned their way to this weekend’s action at Disney by turning in solid performances during qualifying rounds and hope to advance to the official FIFA eWorld Cup in August with strong showings on Saturday and Sunday.

The top 16 players competing for a place in the Global Series Playoffs have been ranked in order of final qualification position:
