Disney Confirms Site of Future Star Wars Resort at Walt Disney World

Last night, we shared pictures of land being cleared on what we assumed is the future site of the Star Wars Resort. Today, we are happy to pass along that Disney just confirmed that this is indeed the new location of the much-anticipated resort. Per Disney, development is underway “on the south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, just east of World Drive.” The location of the resort will allow it seamlessly connect to the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios that is scheduled to open late Fall 2019 at Walt Disney World.

The location of the Star Wars Resort next to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will allow guests to full immerse themselves in the Star Wars story. Guests visiting the Resort will board a starship that comes to life with characters and stories that unfold around them during their voyage through the galaxy. Each “cabin” will feature views of space! Guests staying at the Resort will be taking part in a multi-day adventure and are invited to participate as a resident of the Galaxy by dressing in Star Wars-inspired garb.

Flo’s V8 Café Food Review at Disney California Adventure Park

If you haven’t heard, a new menu has raced over to Flo’s V8 Café, located in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park, featuring a revved up set of entrees, desserts, and seasonal offerings. From blue-plate specials to fried chicken, to the long-awaited cheeseburger, there are over 12 new food options to help fuel your tank and get you back out on the track.

We had the chance to sample from the menu, which is split into two main fares, “Pit Stop Classics”, quick and easy options for on the go racers, in addition to “Drive-In Dishes”, which are homey staples and comfort food that provide a more relaxed pace to your day. Off the “Pit Stop Classics” menu, we had Ramone’s signature sandwich, the Low and Slow Club. The diner classic features sliced turkey breast, crisp bacon, avocado-bacon, lettuce, and tomato on toasted white bread. The sandwich comes with a pickle spear and side of steak fries.

The sandwich itself is refreshing, light, but still plenty of food, as there is an ample serving of turkey, veggies, and bacon. The bacon is nice and thick, really bringing the whole experience together, definitely reminding you of a classic diner club. One of the risks with this type of sandwich is the quality of the lettuce and tomato, and we can safely say the Low and Slow Club did not disappoint. Fresh, crisp, and full of flavor, it’s a nice way to grab a quick bite without sacrificing substance. If you are hoping for thin and more conventional fries, however, this dish will not be ideal, as Flo’s is serving up traditional steak fries.

Afterward, we had a chance to sink our teeth into Flo’s Famous Fried Chicken from the Drive-In Classics section. The plate comes with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, and seasonal vegetables. The chicken felt familiar, which gives you the feeling you’ve been transported over to Plaza Inn at Disneyland; tasty and comforting. The sides, however, did not have too much distinctive taste, which compliments the dish but don’t stand out heavily. It’s still a solid meal, and for someone who wants a chance to sit down and devour a plate of chicken, the portions do not skimp. There’s plenty of food here, and that creates a better bang for your buck given the price point.

To wrap it all up, we stuck with one of the few survivors of the original Flo’s menu, the classic shake. As always, the milkshake is exactly what it needs to be, sweet, cool, and straight to the point. With the cookie road gravel, it’s a fantastic way to end the meal on a high note. It is unfortunate that the mud pies were axed from the menu, but it is nice that the shake remains to remind you of the early days at the café. Flo’s is a focal point of the Cars Land atmosphere and it’s nice to get a mixture of old and new.

In addition, you can fill up with refreshing fountain beverages, milk, orange juice, coffee, hot tea, or hot cocoa. For guests over the age of 21, specialty draft beer and wine is also available. Drafts include Victory Prima Pilsner and Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA, and wines include Kendall-Jackson VR Chardonnay, Coppola Rosso & Bianco, and Red Sangria.

Cupcakes seems to be all the rage right now at The Walt Disney World Resort. But if you’re looking for something a little different, the Contempo Cafe Mickey Brownie at Disney’s Contemporary Resort might be just the thing! The marshmallows on top sold me on it!

Located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Contempo Cafe is the perfect spot for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner! This Quick Service Restaurant has many different choices and also Grab ’n’ go offerings too – which is where you’ll find this amazing Mickey Brownie!

I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for food shaped like my favorite mouse! Add in chocolate, maybe a few marshmallows and a drizzle or sprinkle of this or that and I’m good to go! Brownies are listed on their menu for $4.19!

Contempo Cafe Mickey Brownie

These brownies are the perfect ending to a quick lunch or dinner at Contempo Cafe. I mean what could be a better compliment to a Mickey Brownie than Cheddar and Bacon Macaroni & Cheese with Blistered Tomatoes, Caramelized Onions, Bacon, Cheddar Sauce and Cheesy Breadcrumbs for $8.99?! Or maybe you’re more in the mood for a burger? If so you’ll want to try the Contempo Smokehouse Burger which tops an Angus Chuck Burger with Smoked Bacon Marmalade, Fried Onion Ring and Cheddar on a Brioche Bun and serves it with Vegetable Slaw for $12.49.

Comtempo Cafe also has a variety of Flatbreads, Specialty Salads (like the Power Greens Salad with Hearts of Palm, Slow-roasted Tomatoes, Charred Corn, Sunflower Seeds and White Balsamic-Citrus Vinaigrette for $8.99) and Grab ‘ n ‘ go snacks to choose from as well!

And if, for some reason, Brownies just aren’t your thing, you know there is always a cupcake or two to pick from as well!

As we reported a few weeks ago, a new fireworks dessert party option is coming to the Magic Kingdom! As the name indicates, the After Fireworks Dessert Party is offered after “Happily Ever After” at the Magic Kingdom. Unlike the other fireworks parties, this particular one includes savory snacks to enjoy in addition to desserts! The party debuted earlier this week and we are excited to share with our readers some of the selections that are offered.

Let’s start with some of the savory snacks that Guests can nosh on after enjoying “Happily Ever After.” Select options include cheese, spinach dip, crackers, and house-made mini egg rolls.

Now, for what we all came for, the tasty treats! Check out these delicious desserts inspired by the various lands of the Magic Kingdom.

First off, the Ooey Gooey Coffee Cakes from Liberty Square:

Looks incredible! And, just like the other dessert parties, the After Fireworks Dessert Party offers premium seating in the Plaza Garden to view the “Happily Ever After” fireworks. Personally, this one might be my new favorite since it’s a good way to avoid the mass exodus from the Magic Kingdom after the fireworks end and enjoy some tasty treats!

The After Fireworks Dessert Party is located in the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. This event costs $69 for adults and $41 for children.

Sunday Brunch at Maria & Enzo’s in Disney Springs is the Perfect Way to Start Your Day!

If you are looking for the perfect way to kick-start your day at Walt Disney World and Disney Springs then look no further than the new Sunday Brunch at Maria & Enzo’s! I was lucky enough to get to try it out this past Sunday and am super excited to share some of the deliciousness with our readers.

When you first walk into Maria & Enzo’s you are greeted by a grand two-story dining room themed after a storied airline terminal from the 1930s. The views of Lake Buena Vista are also quite picturesque as well!

Guests enjoying Sunday Brunch at Maria & Enzo’s are also treated to live music from a harp.

Maria & Enzo’s offers two ways to enjoy Sunday brunch. You can order a la carte options or enjoy a prix-fixe buffet brunch. As you can see, the a la carte selections are located on the left side of the menu and the prix-fixe buffet brunch menu is located on the right side.

We decided to go with the prix-fixe menu are were not disappointed!

When you chose the prix-fixe brunch, you are treated to an array of appetizers served buffet-style featuring a meat and cheese station, antipasti station, pizza station, peel and eat shrimp, yogurt, and fresh pastries.

Next up is your choice of entree. We decided on the French Toast and NY Strip Steak ‘n Eggs.

The NY Strip Steak ‘n Eggs is served with eggs your way and parm roasted potatoes.

The French Toast comes with berry preserves, whipped mascarpone, and granola.

I wish I could tell you which one was better but they both were delicious!

Finally, Guests participating in the prix-fixe brunch are treated to a dessert bar complete with a chocolate fountain and several tasty treats to dip including Rice Krispie Treats, cannolis, strawberries, cheesecake, and much more!

Now for the best part of Sunday Brunch at Maria & Enzo’s – bottomless beverages! Guests can choose from bottomless Bellinis featuring white peach puree and Prosecco or bottomless Mimosas with champagne and orange juice. Both options are $15 for all you care to enjoy!

If you are wondering, the prix-fixe brunch is $35 per adult and $15 for children ages 3 to 9. The prix-fixe brunch option requires all guests at the same table to participate.

New Updates and Photos of Caribbean Beach Resort Construction

New updates and photos of Caribbean Beach Resort construction. Caribbean Beach Resort(CBR) is adding a substantial new addition to the resort property. The addition is quite impressive! Old Port Royale will contain eating facilities, shopping and the main lobby and registration area. The Custom House, which is the current registration area will be moved to this new centralized area.

The current entrance to the Caribbean Beach will close once construction is finished. The new entrance will run off of Victory Way, which is where the Art of Animation and Pop Century are located.

You can see the progression of the Skyliner near Trinidad South as well as the main loading and transfer station. The Skyliner is a new way to get through the resorts and Hollywood Studios in a more efficient way. The resort is scheduled to open in August of 2018, but there have been many delays in the process so that may be pushed back. We will have to wait and see if they are able to pull off some Disney magic!

A man is sentenced to 3 days in jail for YouTube stunt at Walt Disney World. Arizona man, Dillion Burch, set up a YouTube stunt at the Contemporary Resort to attempt to get “views” on his channel by falsely reporting that there was an active shooter on Disney property. The 22 year old was charged and sentenced to 3 days in jail for disturbing the peace and public intoxication on Tuesday.

The first-ever Shanghai Disney Resort Disney Inspiration Run will be held on September 15-16. This event, hosted by Shanghai Disney Resort, bringing runners a spectacular resort-wide race in an immersive environment and a unique run experience that only Disney can offer. The event is being held in collaboration with Shanghai International Marathon and registration is set to begin in July.

This event will introduce a family-friendly athletic event filled with Disney magic and fun to guests of all ages in Mainland China!

“The first-ever Disney Inspiration Run at Shanghai Disney Resort this fall is the newest addition to a long line of favorite Disney traditions to come to Shanghai,” said Philippe Gas, General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. “The event offers distance options for everyone, including for serious runners as well as guests of all ages who may want to simply enjoy some fun exercise and entertainment at Disney. But no matter your level, we look forward to offering an unforgettable Disney experience, allowing participants to explore the resort’s spectacular landscape and entertainment while pursuing a healthy lifestyle.”

The 2018 Disney Inspiration Run will include 10K, 5K and 3.5K running routes that will make sure there is something for everyone who wants to participate in this first-of-its kind race in Shanghai. Each route will extend across Shanghai Disney Resort, including Shanghai Disneyland theme park, Disneytown and areas around Wishing Star Lake. Participants will be immersed in the signature Disney storytelling environment throughout the run.

And who knows, some of our favorite Disney characters might also make surprise appearances to cheer for runners in a uniquely Disney way. Official registration for the 2018 Disney Inspiration Run at Shanghai Disney Resort will begin in July, and more information will be announced by the resort in the coming months.

Since that time, runs through Disney theme parks has been adored by hundreds of thousands of Disney fans and sports enthusiasts worldwide. If you can’t wait for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to begin next month, Epcot has a few goodies that might hold you over. Disney Traders in Epcot has a whole assortment of World Cup Inspired Mickey Merchandise that soccer fans are sure to love.
