Disney and TelevisaUnivision have announced a significant multi-region distribution partnership, poised to revolutionize access to Spanish-language content for consumers in both the United States and Mexico. This strategic collaboration aims to provide unprecedented choice and accessibility, bringing the most-watched Spanish-language programming to a broader audience.

A key component of the new agreement will see TelevisaUnivision’s leading U.S. networks – including Univision, UniMás, TUDN, and Galavisión – launching on the Hulu + Live TV core channel lineup beginning June 3, 2025. This timely integration arrives just ahead of major sporting events like the highly-anticipated FIFA Club World Cup and Concacaf Gold Cup, granting Hulu + Live TV subscribers immediate access to the nation’s premier Spanish-language content, spanning scripted and unscripted series, news, sports, and live entertainment.

Furthermore, additional TelevisaUnivision channels such as N+FORO, TLNovelas, Bandamax, De Película, De Película Clásico, Telehit, and Telehit Música will subsequently be added to the Español add-on for Hulu + Live TV subscribers, further enriching the diverse content offerings.

Beyond the U.S. expansion, the partnership also extends to Mexico. Starting early June, Disney+ and ViX will be available as a combined offering, allowing ViX users in Mexico to access Disney+ content as part of their existing subscription.

Rafael Urbina, President of Streaming and Digital at TelevisaUnivision, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We’re thrilled to enter into this new partnership with Disney that puts our community at the center,” Urbina stated. “TelevisaUnivision is the top producer of Spanish-language content in the world, and this deal underscores two critically important elements: our portfolio is a main anchor for any pay TV distributor—without TelevisaUnivision, there is no complete pay-tv offering; and our direct-to-consumer business continues to break boundaries as ViX further strengthens its powerful connection to Hispanics around the world.”

Lauren Tempest, General Manager, Hulu & EVP, DTC Content Partnerships, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the strategic benefits for Disney. “This new partnership allows us to strategically build upon our current channel offering and Spanish-language content available on Hulu + Live TV, while providing subscribers in Mexico with a meaningful opportunity to access the very best of Disney’s blockbuster films, award-winning Originals and iconic franchises alongside TelevisaUnivision’s industry-leading Spanish-language content including news, novelas, sports and more in one subscription,” Tempest commented.

This multi-faceted partnership marks a significant milestone in the digital distribution landscape, promising to deliver a wider array of premium Spanish-language entertainment to a vast and growing audience across North America.

Our Review of Disney’s Live-Action “Lilo & Stitch”

Ohana means family, and Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” premiere at Disney Springs was truly a family affair! We were absolutely over the moon to be invited to celebrate this special event, and Disney certainly rolled out the blue carpet for us!

Our taste buds were on a tropical vacation too, with a delicious spread of Hawaiian-themed food and amazing drinks like the refreshing Aloha Strawberry Lemonade and the wonderfully named Tropical Trouble Punch!

After fueling up and snapping countless photos, it was time for the main event – the movie! Disney’s generosity continued, showering us with the cutest Stitch popcorn bucket and drink holder, and even a super soft and cuddly Stitch blanket to get cozy with. So generous!

SP

Then it was time for the movie! And let me tell you, it wasn’t just good – it was better than we could have imagined! The casting was absolutely perfect. Maia Kealoha as Lilo was a revelation; she embodied everything we could possibly imagine for a live-action Lilo, with such an endearing mix of cuteness and charm. And Sydney Agudong as Nani was equally brilliant. Their sisterly bond felt so real and heartwarming, perfectly capturing the spirit of the original animated duo.

Our Heartfelt Review of Disney's Live-Action "Lilo & Stitch"

The storyline itself stayed wonderfully true to the beloved classic, with just enough delightful surprises and twists to keep us on our toes. And of course, the star of the show, our mischievous blue alien, Stitch (voiced by the incredible Chris Sanders), was nothing short of perfection. Director Dean Fleischer Camp truly gets these characters. Stitch integrated seamlessly into the real world, his every facial expression, body movement, and mischievous twitch nailed to perfection. It’s truly remarkable how they made a six-limbed furry alien feel so completely natural and at home in a live-action setting!

Zach Galifianakis Cast in Upcoming Lilo & Stitch Live-Action Remake

The supporting cast was equally stellar. Zach Galifianakis as Dr. Jumba Jookiba and Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley were fantastic, bringing their animated counterparts to life with hilarious precision. And it was such a special treat to see beloved alumni from the animated film like Tia Carrere as the social worker Kume, and particularly Jason Scott Lee now playing Tutu, Lilo and Nani’s neighbor, in a more significant role. It truly showed Disney’s respect for the original.

Our Heartfelt Review of Disney's Live-Action "Lilo & Stitch"

What really sets this “Lilo & Stitch” remake apart is its seamless integration of the fantastical into the modern world. The aliens and their antics fit perfectly without ever overshadowing the human characters or the live-action environment. There wasn’t a single element that felt out of place or awkward, unlike some other live-action adaptations we’ve seen.

stitchmovielead

This movie is tightly plotted, beautifully paced, and absolutely brimming with charm and heart. It’s a genuine joy from start to finish, with characters you instantly fall in love with and root for. We honestly believe this is Disney’s best live-action remake to date, a truly magical experience that brought tears to our eyes and smiles to our faces. “Lilo & Stitch” is a must-see for fans old and new – it’s a testament to the power of ‘ohana’!

We’d like to send a huge and special thank you to Disney for inviting us, and for making this a truly unforgettable evening for our Ohana!

Disney World President Jeff Vahle Congratulates Universal on Epic Universe Grand Opening

In a rare—and refreshingly classy—display of inter-theme park camaraderie, Walt Disney World Resort President Jeff Vahle took to Instagram today to send a heartfelt message to Universal Orlando Resort on the grand opening of Epic Universe.

The post read:
“It takes great passion and dedication to bring new projects to life. Best of luck to the Universal Orlando team with the opening of Epic Universe! Another big win for tourism in Florida.”

Disney World President Jeff Vahle Wishes Universal Orlando Team Good Luck with Epic Universe Opening

Yes, you read that right. The head of the House of Mouse just publicly cheered on the biggest expansion in the Wizarding World’s backyard.

Jeff Vahle, who now celebrates his 35th year with Disney Experiences, oversees a massive team of approximately 80,000 Cast Members—the largest single-site workforce in the U.S. He’s also responsible for the operation of Disney’s four Florida theme parks, two water parks, 25+ resort hotels, and the ever-popular Disney Springs. Under his leadership, Disney has created more than 250,000 jobs across the Sunshine State.

Today’s message was not only a nod to friendly competition, but also a recognition of the tremendous impact that Epic Universe is expected to have on the Central Florida tourism industry. Located just about 15 miles from the Magic Kingdom, Epic Universe marks Universal’s most ambitious project to date and their first new theme park since Islands of Adventure debuted in 1999.

The new park includes five meticulously themed “worlds”:

  • Celestial Park – the dreamy gateway hub filled with lush gardens, dining, and the Starfall Racers coaster
  • Dark Universe – a chilling land inspired by classic Universal Monsters
  • Super Nintendo World – where Mario, Peach, and Bowser reign supreme
  • How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk – a land of Vikings, dragons, and a family-friendly coaster soaring over the harbor
  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic – where wizards will duel and guests can step inside the magical British Ministry

It’s a major moment not only for Universal, but for Central Florida tourism overall. With Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando now both boasting next-generation offerings, fans and visitors win no matter where they visit.

While the Mouse and the Minions may compete on the ground, it’s good to see that behind the scenes, there’s still some pixie dust and professional respect being shared across I-4.

Disneyland’s Matterhorn Bobsleds Shut Down for Significant Refurbishment

Iconic Matterhorn Bobsleds Closes for Extended Maintenance

Disneyland Park’s iconic Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction has officially closed for an extended refurbishment, with construction walls now fully enveloping the beloved coaster. This closure, which began on May 5, 2025, is anticipated to last for several months, with current indications suggesting the attraction will reopen “later this fall.”

mountain

While the majestic Matterhorn mountain itself remains largely visible, the extensive construction walls effectively cordon off the surrounding land around the iconic attraction. These beige barriers, accented with brown panels, now define the perimeter of the work zone, giving guests a clear indication of the refurbishment area without entirely obscuring the famous peak.

construction

The beige and brown construction walls extend to a fence adjacent to the Monorail track, where scrim has been installed to seamlessly bridge the gap between the temporary barriers and the existing rockwork. While Disney has yet to release any specific details regarding the scope of this refurbishment, it’s widely anticipated to involve general maintenance given the attraction’s age and continuous operation. As of now, an official reopening date has not been announced, leaving fans eager for updates on when they can once again experience the iconic Matterhorn Bobsleds.

started

Amidst the beige and brown construction walls surrounding the Matterhorn Bobsleds, shield-shaped signs near the attraction’s entrance offer fascinating historical insights into “Disneyland’s First Mountain.”

One sign reveals that in 1958, Walt Disney spent a week in Zermatt, Switzerland, during the filming of “Third Man on the Mountain.” The majestic, real-life Matterhorn served as the backdrop for the Walt Disney Studios film, and it captivated Walt himself. He was so impressed that he famously mailed a postcard of the mountain to his Imagineers with a simple, yet monumental instruction: “Build this!”

True to his vision, the iconic Matterhorn Bobsleds coaster opened the very next year, in 1959. This marked a pivotal moment for Disneyland Park, as the coaster was a centerpiece of its first major expansion. This significant growth also introduced other groundbreaking attractions, including the Submarine Voyage, Fantasyland Autopia, and the revolutionary Disneyland Alweg-Monorail System. These historical markers offer a nostalgic glimpse into the inspiration and ambition behind one of Disneyland’s most enduring and beloved rides.

first mountain

The Matterhorn Bobsleds holds a significant place in Disneyland history, renowned as the park’s first high-speed thrill ride. This pioneering attraction also laid the groundwork for a lineage of beloved “mountain” themed attractions that would eventually span Disney parks worldwide, including iconic coasters like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

While official details regarding the scope of the current refurbishment remain undisclosed, one of the informative signs on the construction walls offers a hopeful timeline for eager guests: the Matterhorn Bobsleds is expected to reopen “later this fall.” This suggests a substantial period of work, likely encompassing crucial maintenance and potential enhancements to ensure the enduring magic and thrilling experience of this Disneyland classic.

monster

While the legendary Abominable Snowman was always part of Walt Disney’s original vision for the Matterhorn, the creature didn’t actually make its chilling debut until significant enhancements were made to the attraction between 1977 and 1978. These updates dramatically transformed the ride experience, enclosing the previously open lift tunnel and introducing immersive elements like atmospheric fog, eerie ice caverns with glowing crystals, and the sensation of biting Alpine winds. The Matterhorn Bobsleds continued to receive further updates and refinements in 1995 and 2015, ensuring its enduring appeal as a beloved Disneyland icon.

Adding to its storied history, the Matterhorn has seen some charming, festive, and even adventurous additions over the years. In the 1960s, the mountain was famously topped with a giant Christmas star, illuminating the park during the holiday season. Beyond seasonal decorations, Disney also previously delighted guests by having real-life mountain climbers, and even Mickey Mouse himself, scale the iconic peak, adding an extra layer of magic and spectacle to the already impressive attraction.

tradition

Beyond being Disney’s inaugural roller coaster, the Matterhorn Bobsleds holds the distinction of being the world’s very first tubular steel coaster, a groundbreaking innovation in ride technology. This iconic attraction features two distinct “bobsled” runs, one accessible from the Fantasyland side and the other from the Tomorrowland side, each offering a unique journey through the mountain. The bobsled vehicles themselves underwent a significant redesign in 2012, enhancing the guest experience. A fun fact for fans, the meticulously crafted mountain stands at approximately 1/100th the scale of its majestic, real-life Swiss counterpart.

Will you miss Matterhorn Bobsleds while it’s closed?

Both Disney World Water Parks Now Open at Same Time

For the first time since 2019, both of Walt Disney World’s beloved water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, are now simultaneously welcoming guests. This marks a significant return to pre-pandemic operations, as Disney has largely rotated the openings of its two water parks since 2020. Now, visitors have the full spectrum of aquatic fun available, from the thrilling slides and massive surf pool at Typhoon Lagoon to the unique, snow-themed attractions and icy slopes of Blizzard Beach, offering double the opportunities to cool off and make a splash in the Florida sunshine. This dual opening, which began on May 21, 2025, is a welcome development for those looking to maximize their water park experience during their Disney vacation.

Disney World's Water Parks Both Open for First Time Since 2019

Disney’s water park operations have fully ramped up for the summer season! Blizzard Beach, after a brief refurbishment that began on May 1, has officially reopened today, May 21, 2025. This means it now joins Typhoon Lagoon, which had reopened on that same May 1 date, ensuring both of Walt Disney World’s water parks are now simultaneously open for guests to enjoy throughout the summer. This dual operation marks the first time since 2019 that both aquatic destinations have been available concurrently, offering double the fun for those looking to cool off in the Florida heat.

typhoon lagoon lazy river

For several years leading up to 2019, Walt Disney World’s water parks typically operated in tandem for the majority of the year, with brief, staggered closures for routine winter refurbishments. However, since 2019, a different operational model has been in place. The water parks have largely alternated their opening periods, with one park welcoming guests while the other underwent refurbishment, essentially sharing the year.

This shift meant that until now, guests utilizing perks like the complimentary check-in day water park admission for resort guests had no choice in which park to visit—it was simply whichever one happened to be open. With both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach now open simultaneously for the summer, resort guests can finally choose their preferred aquatic adventure, whether it’s the thrilling slides of Typhoon Lagoon or the snowy slopes of Blizzard Beach. This dual opening not only expands guest options but also signifies a significant return to the resort’s pre-pandemic operational flexibility.

Are you happy to see both Disney water parks open at the same time?

We Tried Celestial Spritz at Epic Universe — Here’s the Soda Lowdown from Universal’s Fizzy New Galaxy

If you’re headed to Universal’s Epic Universe with your souvenir Freestyle cup in hand, you’re not just quenching your thirst—you’re unlocking an exclusive sip in every single land. And we kicked off our soda stroll today with Celestial Spritz, the sparkling star of Celestial Park.

We grabbed our first taste at the Oak & Star Tavern, and wow—this drink lives up to its cosmic name. Celestial Spritz is an orange-based soda that blends Seagram’s, hints of cherry, and a zingy, almost shockingly tart finish. Universal promises a “secret added tartness,” and they weren’t kidding. That final punch is giving major “Beverly vibes” (yes, that Beverly from Club Cool), but with more flavor and a lot less regret. It’s bold, refreshing, and feels like it was made to pair perfectly with a sunny stroll through Celestial Park’s dreamy fountains and stardust vibes.

So, with our cup refilled and curiosity piqued, we ventured out to hunt down the other land-exclusive drinks you can only get in their designated zones. Here’s the rest of the soda galaxy, one land at a time:

Dragon Splash – Isle of Berk

This one’s for the lime lovers—and dragon riders. Found only in the How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, Dragon Splash is a zippy blend of Minute Maid Lime, Fanta Lime, and Mello Yello. It’s a tart-yet-sweet citrus combo that feels like a burst of flight energy in every sip. If Celestial Spritz is dreamy and complex, Dragon Splash is pure zest and zing. Perfect for cooling off after conquering Hiccup’s Wing Gliders or dancing with dragons.

screaming berry

Screaming Berry – Dark Universe

Dark, brooding, and delicious—just like the monsters lurking around Dark Universe. Screaming Berry is a rich, gothic fusion of Fanta Cherry, Fanta Fruit Punch, plus added grape and vanilla flavorings. It’s spooky-sweet with a surprisingly smooth finish. Guests who’ve tried it during preview days say it reminds them of Dr Pepper Blackberry, and we’re inclined to agree. It’s a fantastic match for wandering through Darkmoor, especially while sipping and side-eyeing Frankenstein’s monster.

A Sip for Every Story

What makes these sodas extra special? You can only get them in their respective lands. That means Celestial Spritz? Only in Celestial Park. Dragon Splash? Only in Berk. Screaming Berry? Take a walk on the dark side. And since your souvenir Freestyle cup gives you unlimited refills all day, it becomes the ultimate flavor passport—each drink a new chapter in your theme park adventure.

  • Captain Hook—brings swashbuckling flair and melodramatic panache aboard his ship as he pleads his case for villain vindication.
  • The Magic Mirror—serves as your spectral host, conjuring scenes, drama, and plenty of theatrical shade from within its gilded frame.
