Disney World Adds More Hours to Enjoy the Magic This March

Do you have plans to be in Disney Wolrd this March? Then, I have good news for you! Disney World has just added updated their calendar for March and most of the Parks will be open later than originally planned!

The Magic Kingdom was originally scheduled to only be open until 8:00 pm most nights in the month of March. With the new updated schedule, the Park will be open until either 10 or 11 pm and even midnight on select evenings. In addition, the Magic Kingdom will be opening an hour earlier than originally planned from March 11 to March 17.

If you have plans to visit Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios at Disney World in March, you are also in luck! An extra hour or two has been added to the evening calendar for both parks.

Additional hours have not been announced for Epcot in March. But, you never know, Disney can update their calendars at any time!

RESERVATIONS
As space is limited, advance reservations are highly recommended at both restaurants and can be made up to 60 days prior to your visit.

All reservations require a credit card guarantee—cards will not be charged until the day of your arrival. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $10 per-person charge, which also applies to no-shows.

Anaheim visitation grew five percent

2017 was a great year to visit Anaheim, the home of the Disneyland Resort! According to Visit Anaheim, the official tourism organization for Anaheim and Orange County, a record number of guests visited the city last year. Anaheim visitation grew five percent over the previous year.

This is the fifth year in a row Anaheim welcomed a record-setting number of guests. In 2017, the number of visitors hit 24.2 million!

The growth and expansion at the Disneyland Resort is one reason more and more visitors are heading to Anaheim.

‘Black Panther’ Already Set Records on Opening Night

It’s not surprising that it didn’t take much time for “Black Panther” to begin setting box office records. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that after earning a record $25.2 million on Thursday night, it became the largest February premiere in United States history. Previously, “Deadpool” held that record. “Black Panther: even surpassed “Captain America: Civil War” which brought in $25 million from its opening night.

“Black Panther” was just not a hit in the United States. Internationally, “Black Panther” brought in $47 million in three days. $10.7 of that $47 million was brought in from the United Kingdom alone.

Popular movie ticket sales site, Fandango, reported that “Black Panther” had the fourth highest ticket pre-sales in its history. “Star War: The Force Awakens” holds the title of having the highest number of ticket pre-sales in Fandango’s history.

It sounds like “Black Panther” is on track to break more records over the weekend! I can’t wait to see it!

Disney Announces Height Requirements for New Toy Story Land Attractions

Now that we know the official opening date of Toy Story Land, the most popular question that has been going around is what will be the height requirements be for the two new attractions – Slinky Dog Coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers. We are excited to announce that the height requirements have been announced!

For Slinky Dog Coaster, all riders will be required to be a minimum of 38″ tall to ride.

For Alien Swirling Saucers, all riders must be a minimum of 32″ tall to ride.

Toy Story Mania, which will officially be a part of Toy Story Land, will remain with no height requirement.

Toy Story Land officially opens on June 30 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The Disney Princess Spirit Jerseys Are a Must Have

Have you become a fan of the latest Spirit Jersey trend from the Disney Parks? I know I’m definetly hooked, they are not only cute, but seriously comfortable. There have been lots of new additions to the collection, and some of the latest are the Disney Princess Spirit Jerseys.

Many of the “specialty” themed Spirit Jerseys are so popular, they sell out almost as soon as they hit the shelves, like the Rose Gold and Minnie Mouse Polka-Dotted ones. I’m sure that the princess ones are hard to keep on the shelves too, because they are incredible! Currently there are four princess themed jerseys available featuring Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and Ariel. While some princesses are not featured yet, I’m sure there are more to come if these are popular. Many have wondered why these four are first, and I suspect because they are the first four major Disney Princess chronologically.

Snow White

The Disney Princess Spirit Jerseys Are a Must Have

Snow White is the original Disney Princess, and has a very iconic color motif. This one is the most elaborate of the new jerseys, with a dip dyed ombre effect that goes from blue, to white, to yellow. I love how it beautifully captures the colors of her dress. Red glitter writes “Walt Disney World” or “Disneyland” across the back of the shirt, and a red glitter apple adorns the front. The combination of the dip dye and red glitter completes her iconic color palette perfectly.

Cinderella

The Disney Princess Spirit Jerseys Are a Must Have

Cinderella is well known for her silvery blue ball gown, and of course her glass slipper. This jersey is a beautiful blue that’s quite similar to her iconic gown. Obviously the glass slipper has to make an appearance! You’ll find the glass shoe on the front in silver glitter, while “Walt Disney World”, or “Disneyland” are written in silver glitter on the back.

Aurora

The Disney Princess Spirit Jerseys Are a Must Have

I love the Aurora jersey because I missed out on the Millennium Pink jersey at the end of last year. While it’s not quite the same pink, there hasn’t been a similar pink one since that rare Spirit Jersey unicorn got away! While I wish this also had the dip dye effect on it for the “Make it Pink”, “Make it Blue” debate, I still love this one. This one has a deep pink glitter for the logo and Disneyland/Walt Disney World writing.

Ariel

The Disney Princess Spirit Jerseys Are a Must Have

Ariel is another princess with a very distinct color palette, and I feel they nailed it with this shirt too. They jersey is a tealish aqua like the Ariel’s fin, with purple glitter accents. It might not come with a seashell bra, but we still get a seashell on the logo part of the jersey. Just like the other Princess Spirit Jerseys the accenting glitter spells out the park name on the back. It’s a hard choice, but I really think the Ariel jersey is my personal favorite out of these.

Universal Studios Resort to Raise Ticket Prices

Universal Studios Resort raised their ticket prices on Friday, the 16th, just a few days after Disney World raised theirs.

On Friday single-day park-to-park tickets to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay went up $5 to $170. Single park tickets also went up $5 to $115.

One-day Volcano Bay tickets stayed at $67.

Non-Florida resident multiday tickets saw an increase of $10, rising to $92 a day for admission to all three parks for four days and single park four-day admission at $75 a day.

Florida residents still get the best bang for their buck with four-day one-park tickets at $41 and four-day two-park tickets at $51.

‘The Greatest American Hero’ Gets Pilot Reboot

With New Girl coming to an end, series’ co-star Hannah Simone has been tapped for the title role in ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot The Greatest American Hero, from the Fresh Off the Boat duo of Rachna Fruchbom and Nahnatchka Khan. In the reimagining with a gender switch of Steven J. Cannell’s 1981 cult classic, the unlikely (super)hero at the center, played by William Katt in the original, is being reconceived as an Indian-American woman.

Written by Fruchbom, The Greatest American Hero centers around Meera (Simone), a 30-year-old woman who loves tequila and karaoke and has spent her life searching and failing to find meaning, much to the chagrin of her traditional Indian-American family. An inexplicable event occurs that will change the course of Meera’s life forever: she is entrusted with a super suit to protect the planet. Meera may have finally found purpose, but the world has never been in more unreliable hands.

Simone, believed to be playing the first woman of color superhero lead of a live-action TV series, was among the most sought-after actors for broadcast pilots this season, fielding multiple offers before choosing The Greatest American Hero. The project keeps the British actress, whose father is Indian, in the 20th Century Fox TV fold. She has spent the past seven seasons playing Zooey Deschanel’s best friend, Cece, on Fox’s New Girl, which will return for its seventh and final season in April. She was recently seen in the film Why We’re Killing Gunther and also appeared in the Sundance film Band Aid opposite Zoe Lister-Jones, who also directed, and hosted Fox’s reality competition series, Kicking & Screaming.
