Haunted Mansion Exit at Magic Kingdom Gets New Cobblestones
A fresh patch of cobblestones has been installed behind the Haunted Mansion’s ghost hearse at Magic Kingdom. This update is part of the ongoing refurbishment of the attraction’s exit sidewalks, aiming to enhance the guest experience and improve the overall aesthetic of the area.
Behind the Haunted Mansion’s ghostly hearse, near its exit path, construction walls and tarps emerged last month, signaling work underway. When these temporary barriers were removed weeks later, guests found black boards covering the ground. The transformation has continued, as more of the old cobblestones have since been replaced with these black boards, now stretching all the way to the attraction’s exit archway.
A notable change has occurred directly between the exit columns: the temporary black boards are gone. They’ve been replaced by large, gray square stones that mirror the dimensions of the paving further back in the exit queue. A visual difference is apparent, though, as these new stones are a darker shade, and some of their color has unfortunately leached onto the adjacent older stones.
A new section of curved cobblestones now lies directly behind the Haunted Mansion hearse. Though they align with the design of the older paving, these newly laid stones appear significantly brighter due to their lack of wear. The current construction has seen black boards cut precisely around the sidewalk’s existing brick trim, hinting that while the trim hasn’t been removed yet, its replacement might be part of the larger project.

Disney to The View: Tone It Down—But the Hosts Aren’t Listening
Looks like there’s trouble brewing at the Hot Topics table—and not everyone’s thrilled with what’s being served.
According to a report by The Daily Beast, Disney and ABC News leadership have asked the outspoken hosts of The View to scale back their constant political commentary, especially the regular critiques of Donald Trump and his administration. The message came straight from the top, with ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic and Disney CEO Bob Iger reportedly both weighing in.
But despite the nudge from network brass, the hosts aren’t backing down. In fact, they’re doubling down.
The Network Wants Variety—The Hosts Want a Soapbox
The request wasn’t framed as a hard rule—but it was a clear message. During a meeting with The View‘s executive producer and the show’s six co-hosts (Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin), Karamehmedovic reportedly encouraged the panel to “broaden” their conversations and lean more into entertainment and celebrity segments, which have historically performed well in ratings.
But several hosts—Navarro in particular—pushed back, arguing that the show’s audience expects political takes, especially in what they see as a high-stakes election year. To many on the panel, the idea of “toning it down” was seen as out-of-touch and, frankly, beneath them.
Still, critics say The View‘s political coverage often feels less like thoughtful commentary and more like relentless partisanship. Even casual viewers have noticed that the table has become increasingly hostile toward Trump while rarely scrutinizing Democrats with the same energy. Some say it’s no longer a balanced discussion—it’s an echo chamber.
Even Bob Iger Weighed In
Sources say Ana Navarro brought the issue directly to Disney CEO Bob Iger during last week’s glitzy Upfronts presentation for advertisers. Iger reportedly reaffirmed support for the show but also reiterated the need to ease up on the political intensity. Translation: Disney’s leadership may love The View’s success, but they’re wary of the divisive tone.
The reminder came even as the show continues to dominate its time slot. According to ABC, The View remains the No. 1 daytime talk show among total viewers and women 25-54. But it raises the question: is strong viewership a free pass for unchecked rhetoric?
A Show in Its Own Bubble?
Insiders told The Daily Beast that while ABC says it “constantly has conversations with talent based on viewer feedback,” some executives believe The View may be tuning out half of the country. The political temperature at the table remains red-hot, even as Disney tries to keep its entertainment brands palatable to a wide—and divided—American audience.
Meanwhile, the show’s recent interviews with Joe and Jill Biden, and continued segments targeting Trump-era figures and Republican governors, show little sign of pivoting toward balance. Hosts like Joy Behar still use the platform to throw barbs, while Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin frequently deliver searing monologues that leave little room for dissenting voices.
And while Griffin is technically the panel’s conservative voice, critics say her occasional pushback is often drowned out by louder, left-leaning perspectives.
Disney Navigates Political Minefields
The behind-the-scenes tug-of-war comes as Disney itself faces increased pressure from Trump’s orbit. After a defamation lawsuit involving ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Disney paid $15 million to Trump’s presidential library and another $1 million in legal fees. The decision was reportedly made to avoid a prolonged fight that could have endangered press freedoms—and the brand’s public image.
Meanwhile, the FCC—under Trump ally Brendan Carr—has launched an investigation into Disney and ABC’s DEI policies, and Trump continues to rail against major media companies, from NBC to CBS, with lawsuits and public attacks.
The political heat is rising—and Disney seems to want The View to stop fanning the flames.
Is The View Still America’s Talk Show—or Just a Megaphone?
The View has always had a strong point of view—after all, that’s the premise. But as it leans further into partisanship, even some loyal viewers are beginning to wonder whether the show has lost its way. What was once seen as a groundbreaking platform for female voices and diverse opinions now often feels like a one-sided political roundtable.
And despite solid ratings, there’s growing internal debate over whether being the loudest voice in the room is really worth the risk of alienating half the country—or the company that signs the paychecks.
Time will tell if the show continues on its current path… or finally takes a cue from the Mouse House.
