Woody Has Arrived to Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land is almost ready for its grand opening on June 30th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but it wouldn’t be complete without one of its biggest stars, Woody! Disney Imagineers celebrated one of their biggest milestones for the new land as Woody took his permanent place at the Toy Story Land marquee, which sits just in front of one of the land’s most anticipated attractions, the Slinky Dog Dash coaster. The marquee is made out of blocks and a 4-foot-tall yo-yo!

Woody stands at nearly 20 feet tall. His cowboy hat measures 7’ feet, brim to brim!

Upon entering Toy Story Land, guests will “shrink” down to the size of a toy and join in on the fun Woody, Jessie, Buzz, and Andy’s other beloved toys are having in Andy’s backyard. Guests can ride Slinky Dog Dash, take a spin on Alien Swirling Saucers, walk through a new carnival game box to experience Toy Story Mania!, grab a tasty snack at Woody’s Lunchbox – and even meet some of the characters from “Toy Story” films!

The Infinity War story arc in Marvel Comics, was one of my all time favorites, needless to say I can’t wait to see the new Avengers: Infinity War film! In celebration of the new film, Walt Disney World has released a gorgeous new limited edition Infinity War MagicBand!

In addition to the new Avengers band, there is also an adorable Groot band joining the club too!

This sleek black band comes in a specialty box, with foil art, and Thanos’ menacing scowl while wielding the Infinity Gauntlet. The band retails for $32.99.

The band features artwork very reminiscent of the comic style of the 90s, when this story arc was written. One side features the Infinity Gauntlet and the other Thanos sneering.

Fun Photo Ops abound at Disney’s Animal Kingdom “Party For The Planet” to celebrate Earth Day, their 20th Anniversary and their Conservation efforts taking place around the world.  Disney Photopass Photographers are located around the park, and at the ready, to take your picture and help you create some awesome memories.   We were able to capture our own memorable and Fun Photo Ops while we were at the Park this past weekend.

One of our favorite Fun Photo Ops is also a bit scary.  The hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed from The Lion King will have you shaking in your shoes!  The Photopass Photographer asked me to put my knees together and my fisted hands to my mouth.  He did not tell me why, but when I checked My Disney Experience and saw this picture I was quite surprised.

My personal favorite of the day was the Bambi and Friends.  I mean look at Flower and Thumper.   They are so adorable!  Animals are certainly the focus in many of the uFn Photo Ops around the Animal Kingdom Park.

Speaking of animals, be sure to get your Magic Shot photo with Simba, Timon and Pumbaa in front of The Tree of Life.

Do you have a little one who is a fan of The Lion Guard?  If so then a photo with Kion is a must for your Fun Photo Ops list.

Setting the Butterflies free is another one of the Fun Photo Ops you can find in front of The Tree of Life.  This particular location has many different options for Magic Shots.

Looking for something a bit more adventurous?  Try this Wilderness Explorer Magic Shot and see if you can spot a bird, or maybe a squirrel.  Oh, and have you, by chance, practiced the Wilderness Explorer Oath lately?

You will find hand-held props for some fabulously Fun Photo Ops all around the park.  The Butterfly is featured on the entrance bridge into the park near The Tree of Life.    You can find the sweet Tamarin Monkey in front of The Tree of Life.  The Gorilla is located in Africa near the exit of Kilimanjaro Safari.

The Banshee hand-held prop photo op is located on the bridge at the entrance to Pandora: The World of Avatar.

In addition to celebrating Earth Day and the “Party For The Planet,” the park was also celebrating its 20th Anniversary!  They had this really cool photo op at the entrance to the Animal Kingdom.  I love how The Tree of Life is in the background and you are surrounded by the majestic Animals who call this amazing park their Home.

Many more Fun Photo Ops exist around Disney’s Animal Kingdom in honor of the “Party For The Planet.”  Be sure to step up to a Photopass Photographer and ask them if they have any Magic Shots or Props available for photos.  Check your My Disney Experience app and prepare to be surprised at what you will see!

American Idol Announces Disney Night!

Now that American Idol is on ABC, they are taking a page from Dancing with the Stars and having all Disney-themed music on their show Sunday, April 29. And who better to help mentor the “American Idol” contestants on “Disney Night” than Idina Menzel of “Frozen” fame!

In addition to being “Disney Night”, “American Idol” will also be making history on Sunday, April 29. For the first time in the history of American television, a reality-competition series will allow viewers to watch and vote from both coasts simultaneously as “American Idol” is simulcast in all time zones across the country over a three-week span. Viewers will be able to vote by text, via AmericanIdol.com/vote and on the “American Idol” app. Results will be revealed at the end of each show in real time, across all time zones.

“We set out on a journey to find the best talent this nation has to offer,” said Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment. “As we head into the next phase of the ‘American Idol’ competition, it only makes sense to let every viewer from coast to coast experience the magic of live television and have the ability to vote for America’s next superstar.”

Musical Line Up for Eat to the Beat Concert Series 2018

UPDATED 6/8/2018 with new performers announced!

Eat to the Beat concert series is a huge part of Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival every year. And this year is no different! This concert series takes place most nights during the Food and Wine Festival and features acts from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s. Concerts are performed usually three times per evening so guests have plenty of opportunities to enjoy their favorite acts. There is no additional cost to attend these concerts as they are included in the price of your Epcot admission. The concert series is presented in Epcot’s American Gardens Theater at the America Pavilion in the World Showcase.

New to this year’s concert series will be percussionist and singer Sheila E and ‘80s Canadian rockers Glass Tiger. 98 Degrees also bring their smooth harmonies to the festival. And, if that weren’t enough, entertainer Jim Belushi brings his rhythm-and-blues band The Sacred Hearts to the festival this year.

Returning favorites include ‘80s pop stars Tiffany and Billy Ocean, ’90s hitmakers like Hanson and Everclear, and swing-meisters Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, who close out the festival as they have for the last couple of years.

This year’s lineup also will include two Contemporary Christian music artists, MercyMe, and former “Royal Tailor” frontman Tauren Wells.

Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Disney’s Magic Kingdom is offering a very popular ice cream flavor for a limited time. Now through the end of April, cookie dough is on the menu!

Located on Main Street, USA, The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor serves up hand scooped ice cream. You can select your favorite flavor and have it dished up in a fresh waffle bowl, cone or between two freshly made chocolate chip cookies. Ice cream flavors include the classics such as vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry along with modern favorites like cookies and cream, and mint chocolate chip. Toppings like hot fudge, caramel and peanut butter can also be added to those delicious flavors.

These amazing treats will cost between $5 and $6 unless you are ordering the famous Mickey’s Kitchen Sink Sundae, priced at $17. Hurry in to grab your cookie dough ice cream, available through the end of April.
