This isn’t just another Mickey balloon popcorn bucket; it’s a true ode to Epcot’s iconic geodesic sphere. Grab-n-Goof Opens at EPCOT with Mac Bites, Ravioli, and a Fishbowl Full of Fun!
Grab your gummies and your appetite—because Grab-n-Goof has officially landed at EPCOT, right in time for Disney’s Cool Kid Summer celebration! This fresh food kiosk, located near Spaceship Earth, is dishing up simple yet silly snacks that are perfect for kids, adults, and everyone in between (even if your inner child still thinks Goofy is the pinnacle of comedic genius).
The playful new stand is part of the resort-wide Cool Kid Summer event, which features more character interactions, kid-friendly activities, DJ dance parties, and themed treats all across Walt Disney World. Grab-n-Goof leans fully into the goofy energy with colorful food, fun packaging, and a drink that comes in an actual plastic fishbowl. Yes, you read that right.
Here’s what’s on the menu at Grab-n-Goof:
Mac and Cheese Bites ($5.50) These crispy golden bites are filled with Disney’s signature creamy mac and cheese and come with a side of ranch for dipping. The breading is thicker than what you’ll find on similar snacks elsewhere in the parks—offering the perfect crunch-to-gooey ratio. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s gooey, kid-approved comfort food at its best.
Pepperoni Pizza Ravioli ($6.00) These mini pockets are stuffed with classic pizza flavor, sprinkled with parmesan, and served with marinara. Perfect for picky eaters who want something warm and familiar with a little twist.
Cookies and Cream Ravioli ($5.50) This is the one to watch—chocolate sandwich cookie-stuffed ravioli drizzled with ganache and vanilla cream. It’s sweet, indulgent, and one of the most unexpected Disney snacks we’ve tried in a while. Basically dessert ravioli… and we’re not mad about it.
Goofy’s Gone Fishing ($6.50) The drink of the summer! This blue raspberry lemonade is loaded with strawberry boba pearls (which tend to settle at the bottom—so stir before you sip!) and comes topped with your choice of gummy fish or sharks. We opted for both because Goofy wouldn’t follow the rules either. Served in a durable plastic “Kids’ Fishin’ Bowl” cup with a candy-striped paper straw, this is the ultimate whimsical park drink. The flavor’s nothing fancy, but the experience? Totally Goofy-core.
Seasonal Beer ($12.00) For the grown-ups in the group, there’s also a rotating seasonal beer on tap.
Grab-n-Goof doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it does know how to roll with it—Goofy style. The snacks are straightforward, the vibes are silly, and everything feels like it came out of a cartoon lunchbox in the best way possible. Whether you’re on the hunt for a light lunch or just want to sip your lemonade from a fishbowl like it’s a summer pool party, this spot is worth a detour.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Files New Permit as Galactic Overhaul Begins at Magic Kingdom
To infinity, and… construction! Walt Disney Imagineering has officially filed a new permit for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom, giving us a fresh signal that the long-awaited overhaul of this classic Tomorrowland attraction is in full launch mode.
The new permit, filed on June 2, 2025, is for electrical work and brings in Elite A/V Systems Inc., a Central Florida-based contractor often linked with themed entertainment projects. The location listed—1305 Monorail Way—corresponds directly to the ride’s current home, which has been zapping away since 1998.
This filing follows hot on the heels of a previous permit for set installation, filed shortly after Disney’s announcement of the ride’s upcoming reimagining. With these back-to-back filings, it’s clear that preparations are rapidly moving from the planning phase to boots-on-the-ground execution.
Here’s What’s Coming to the New Buzz Lightyear Attraction:
New Scene Featuring Buddy the Robot: Say hello to a fresh face in the Buzz universe! Buddy, a new robot companion, will be featured in the updated storyline.
Brand-New Ride Vehicles: The current Star Cruiser ride system dates all the way back to 1972 (yes, really!). For the first time ever, these will be replaced with updated, modern vehicles that include video monitors to track real-time scoring and other gameplay stats.
Freestyle Blasters: The new handheld blasters are similar to those found in Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland. These lightweight, color-coded weapons will provide greater range of motion, plus light and haptic feedback to let riders know when they’ve locked onto a target.
Interactive Targets: Targets will now flash in the color of the blaster that hits them, so you’ll know if you’re actually nailing those high-point zones—or if your space aim needs work.
A Bit of Tomorrowland History
This attraction has seen a long evolution, beginning life as If You Had Wings in 1972. Over the years, it’s been If You Could Fly, Delta Dreamflight, and Take Flight—all celebrating the wonder of aviation. Buzz Lightyear and the Galactic Alliance took over in 1998, but remarkably, the original track and ride system from the early ‘70s remained intact. Until now.
This revamp brings Buzz’s Tomorrowland adventure in line with more modern shooter-style attractions like Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue in Shanghai and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! in Hong Kong. In fact, the Tokyo Disneyland version of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters just closed in 2024 to make way for a Wreck-It Ralph-themed replacement—so this may be part of a broader space sector strategy from Disney.
Disney has confirmed the attraction will close this August and reopen in 2026, although an exact closure date hasn’t been released. As of now, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin remains on the calendar through at least August 4, so you still have some time to help defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg before the blasters get an upgrade.
With new permits in hand and construction activity kicking off, it’s officially countdown time for one of Magic Kingdom’s most enduring attractions. Space Rangers, get ready—your next mission is going to be sleeker, smarter, and a whole lot more interactive.
Test Track Reimagining Speeds Toward the Finish Line
If you’ve been cruising by World Discovery at EPCOT lately, you’ve probably noticed that the future of Test Track is beginning to take shape—literally. Disney’s high-speed reimagining of the fan-favorite attraction is charging ahead, but a newly updated official description has cast some doubt on whether it’ll hit its originally projected late summer reopening date.
Previously slated for a “late summer 2025” return, Disney’s website now simply states that Test Track Presented by Chevrolet is being reimagined and will reopen in 2025. The revised language removes any specific seasonal target, which might indicate the attraction is pacing a bit slower than expected. But even if we’re not racing to the finish line just yet, things are certainly accelerating on-site.
New Marquee on Display: The all-new Test Track sign is now fully visible at the entrance. Featuring an updated illuminated logo that blends sleek lines with futuristic flair, the sign proudly displays its continued partnership with General Motors.
Entrance Overhaul: Fresh signage for the Standby and Lightning Lane entrances has been installed, echoing the design of the new marquee and adding visual cohesion to the refreshed aesthetic.
Canopy Construction Ongoing: Overhead, crews are actively working on a new canopy structure that replaces the old scaffolding-style version removed earlier this year. While not yet complete, the new framework suggests a more streamlined look is on the way.
Simporium Gets a Makeover: The nearby Simporium gift shop has officially been renamed the Test Track Gear Shop, with new signage and design elements that match the ride’s new branding.
Ride Testing in Progress: One of the biggest signs of progress? The familiar sound of Test Track vehicles zipping along the outdoor track has returned. The ride system appears to be cycling frequently and at near full speed—likely part of advanced testing and operational tuning.
While we still don’t have a firm reopening date, these updates suggest that previews and soft openings could be on the horizon (even if they’re not as close as we once hoped). For now, Disney’s message is clear: “Please check back later for updates.”
Looks like we’ll have to buckle up and stay tuned—because the next evolution of Test Track is revving its engine, just not quite ready to hit the gas.
Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! Closing for Avatar Land in Early 2026
Fans of “Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!” at Disney California Adventure should plan their final visits, as the beloved attraction is slated for permanent closure in early 2026. This decision comes as Disney makes way for the highly anticipated new Avatar-themed land, which will bring the world of Pandora to life within the park.
The new Avatar-themed expansion is confirmed to be built near the Hollywood Backlot, utilizing “a portion” of the existing space. While specific details about the scope and attractions of the Pandora-inspired land are still emerging, its placement suggests a major transformation for that section of Disney California Adventure, signaling a bold new direction for the park’s immersive storytelling.
Step into the bustling Monstropolis Transit Terminal and embark on a thrilling taxi cab tour of the town on “Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!” at Disney California Adventure. Your journey quickly takes an unexpected turn when an emergency “special report” interrupts your ride: a human child, Boo, is loose in Monstropolis and must be safely returned. Join friendly monsters Mike and Sulley as they race against time, navigating the city to help the little girl find her way back home before it’s too late.
The presence of a Pandora – World of Avatar expansion in California was initially confirmed during a 2023 earnings call, though its specific form remained undisclosed. Further details emerged at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, where a model and concept art were unveiled, officially revealing a new boat ride as part of the upcoming land. This attraction, along with its surrounding environment, will draw inspiration from “Avatar: The Way of Water” and subsequent films in the beloved franchise.
It’s important to note that this new Avatar-themed experience in California will offer a distinct adventure, intentionally differing from the existing Pandora – The World of Avatar found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida. Guests can anticipate a fresh interpretation of Pandora, specifically designed to complement the narratives and visuals introduced in the newer “Avatar” films.

Disney has just revealed a look at some of the long-term plans to expand and grow at Disneyland Resort! From a new transportation hub to new attractions and lands, the Disneyland Resort is growing.
All-New Parking Structure and Transportation Hub Coming to Resort Area
Plans are underway for a new parking structure and transportation hub that will be built on the east side of Disneyland Resort, on a portion of what is currently the Manchester cast member parking lot. This new area will provide approximately 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way, improving parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area. As you can see from the artist concept rendering above, this new parking and transportation hub will also feature a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard, leading to an all-new esplanade arrival experience. This pedestrian bridge will also provide convenient public access to and from Harbor Boulevard.
These enhanced parking, transit, and arrival offerings are the first step in the next phase of construction, creating the infrastructure necessary to prepare for future growth and to welcome more guests as new experiences are added – including two all-new attractions that will double the size of Avengers Campus, plus the new “Coco”-themed ride and Avatar destinationcoming to Disney California Adventure park. The multi-year construction of this new arrival experience is slated to begin in fall of 2026.
Updates on the Location for the “Coco” Attraction
As Disney continues to add new experiences to Disney California Adventure, we’re excited to learn that the upcoming attraction themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco” will be built near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in areas that are predominantly backstage today. Construction on this attraction is set to begin backstage this fall!
Avatar Experience Location Details
Additionally, we’re looking forward to a portion of the current Hollywood Backlot area transforming into the Avatar destination in Disney California Adventure. This project is still in the early stages of development, and additional details will be shared later, including construction timeframes.
To make way for this new experience, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026.
This is just the beginning of exciting growth here at Disneyland Resort, and we look forward to learning more about all of these projects in the future.
runDisney’s Impact: Supporting Families Through Donations
This Global Running Day, June 4, Disney shines a spotlight on the thousands of dedicated athletes and cast members who participate in runDisney race weekends. Their incredible accomplishments on the course are only part of the story; it’s the positive impact they create well beyond the finish line that truly inspires.
Among the thousands of participants in runDisney race weekends, many intentionally shed jackets or extra layers along the course. These aren’t simply forgotten items; they’re donated for a good cause. The clothing is collected, cleaned, and then given to Harvest Time International, a Florida-based non-profit that supports families in need. For instance, after the 2025 Walt Disney World Marathon alone, a record 24,000 pounds of clothing was donated, significantly helping numerous families.
“It’s an incredible feeling knowing our guests and cast members are contributing to an important cause. We’re grateful for the opportunity to help support families across Central Florida,” Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Walt Disney World, said.
After the last runner crosses the finish line, Walt Disney World’s custodial cast members collect and prepare the clothing for transport to Textile Services, the resort’s on-site laundry facility. After an impressive cleaning and drying process, cast members package the items with care to make their way to a new home.
“The clothing donated during runDisney race weekends makes a real difference for the families we serve at Harvest Time International. Once sorted, these donations are distributed through our outreach programs and respond to urgent needs. Every donation helps restore dignity and stability for families facing difficult circumstances. We’re deeply grateful for the generosity, care, and coordination that make it possible for these items to continue their journey and offer families a fresh start,” Trae Brogdon, Director of GIK Partnerships at Harvest Time International, said.
Thanks to the kindness of our guests and the dedication of our cast, we’re able to provide support to those who may not be able to purchase clothes for their families. And just imagine, the clothing that helped a runDisney athlete cross the finish line could now help introduce a young person to the joys and benefits of running.
Walt Disney World’s dedication to its community doesn’t stop with runDisney: recent initiatives include the resort hosting its second-ever Once Upon A Wish Party — a multi-day large-scale wish-granting event where nearly 50 children facing critical illnesses and their families were swept away into their own Disney Princess stories; providing schools in Central Florida with the resources they need to launch sustainable theater programs through the nationwide Disney Musicals in Schools program; and hosting the 2025 Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for 2,300 athletes from across the state.
A new economic study funded by Disney reveals that Disneyland and Disney World collectively contributed nearly $67 billion to the U.S. economy. This significant economic activity also supported more than 400,000 jobs throughout the country.
A new economic study from Oxford Economics, commissioned by Disney, recently delved into the significant financial contributions of Disneyland Resort in Anaheim during 2023. This comprehensive analysis focused on how Disneyland alone impacted the American economy, a first for the company in a combined, nationwide look.
For two decades, Disney has consistently conducted studies to highlight the economic impact of Disneyland specifically on the local Orange County economy. This latest study, however, expands that scope, offering a broader perspective on the resort’s role as an economic powerhouse within the U.S.
Disneyland Resort significantly boosted the Southern California economy in 2023, generating an annual economic impact of $16.1 billion, according to the new report. This impact directly and indirectly supported over 102,000 jobs in the region. A substantial nearly 75% of these Disneyland-related jobs were located in Orange County, where Disneyland Resort stands as the largest employer with 36,000 workers. The study found that nearly 1 out of every 20 jobs in Orange County can be attributed to Disneyland, including those in nearby hotels, restaurants, and other related businesses.
The majority of jobs at Disneyland Resort are unionized. Notably, one of the largest union groups, representing 14,000 Disneyland employees, successfully negotiated a stepped wage increase in 2024, which will see their wages rise to $26 an hour by 2026.
In 2023, Disneyland’s operations generated a substantial $2.6 billion in total tax revenues, as detailed in the report. Locally, the resort contributed $279 million in tax revenues directly to the city of Anaheim during that same year.
They’re Back! Two Brand New ‘Phineas and Ferb’ Episodes Debut on Disney Channel
Get ready to have the best summer ever, all over again! Phineas and Ferb, Disney Branded Television’s five-time Emmy® Award-winning animated series, officially returns for its highly anticipated Season 5 today, Thursday, June 5th, with two brand-new episodes debuting on Disney Channel and Disney XD. Fans eager to catch the latest adventures can also stream them next day on Disney+.
Co-creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh are back at the helm of the beloved show, which saw immense success with the Disney+ Original movie Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe in 2020. This return marks a thrilling new chapter for the most successful animated series for Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 in Disney Television Animation history.
Season 5 promises to deliver more of what fans know and love. Phineas (voiced by Vincent Martella) and Ferb (voiced by David Errigo Jr.) are embarking on exciting new escapades as they continue their mission to conquer the “104 days of summer.” Their long-suffering sister Candace (voiced by Ashley Tisdale) remains determined to finally bust her inventive stepbrothers, while their clandestine pet platypus, Perry (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker), continues his double life as Agent P, thwarting the incessant schemes of Dr. Doofenshmirtz (voiced by Dan Povenmire) to take over the tristate area.
Since its debut in 2008, the Phineas and Ferb franchise has blossomed into a global phenomenon, encompassing two television movies, a live touring show, a theme park experience at Walt Disney World Resort, and a vast array of consumer products.
“I think its success has a lot to do with decisions we made early on. We wanted to make a kinder, gentler show than other programs we were watching at the time,” Povenmire reflected. “None of our characters are motivated by meanness. We don’t go for laughs at the expense of other characters. We took that out of our toolbox and said, ‘Can we make something that is a celebration of positivity and see if we can still make that funny?’ It seems to have worked.”
The show’s enduring popularity, further amplified by its availability on Disney+, where Seasons 1-4 are streaming in their entirety, has made it a “comfort watch for people,” Povenmire noted.
It was no surprise then, when in 2023, fans rejoiced at the news that Disney Branded Television had ordered two new seasons of Phineas and Ferb, totaling 40 episodes. “We’ve always loved these characters and wanted to go back to them,” Povenmire shared. He admitted that the overwhelming fan response to the announcement initially sparked some worry about living up to expectations. However, upon seeing the first colorized episode of Season 5, he knew they had hit the mark. “People who loved the original show are going to absolutely adore this.”
Vincent Martella, who has voiced Phineas for nearly two decades, echoed this sentiment. “It picks up like nothing happened,” he said. “It has the same heart and soul fans know and love, but we also explore characters in different ways that we hadn’t before. That feels really new and really fresh.” Martella added, “I can’t express just how much it means to me to still be playing this character… I know it means so much to the fans.”
Jeff “Swampy” Marsh credited the show’s success to their talented crew. “I like to think we’ve done a really good job of creating an environment where they feel encouraged to contribute to the storytelling,” he said. This collaborative spirit, even with new writers who grew up watching the show, has led to “more ideas than we know what to do with.”
And for those who love the show’s signature running gags, David Errigo Jr. (Ferb) has a teaser: Season 5 features more than ever. “Pay attention,” he hinted. “Everything means something. It all pays off nicely.”
Povenmire explained that Phineas and Ferb‘s inherent “open-ended, do anything kind of show” nature, coupled with its “super likeable” and diverse characters, made it ripe for a return. “Phineas and Ferb try to do something fun every day, and that’s really what Disney is all about — having fun every day,” he concluded.
The two new episodes of Phineas and Ferb will premiere today, Thursday, June 5th, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel and Disney XD. The first episode will also be available on the Disney Channel YouTube channel. The first 10 episodes of the new season will then arrive on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets on Friday, June 6th, with more markets to follow later this year. Additionally, episodes will be available to stream on Disney Channel on Demand. Get ready to shout, “Hey, where’s Perry?!” because Phineas and Ferb are back!
