José Andrés of Jaleo willing to give a job to cafeteria worker who was fired a job

Chef José Andrés of Jaleo in Disney Springs has provided millions of free meals to federal workers and natural disaster survivors wants to hire Bonnie Kimball. Bonnie was the New Hampshire cafeteria worker that was fired for giving food to a student who couldn’t afford it.

It was reported that she was fired by the district manager of Café Services, the food services company that employed her, and she was told what she did was “theft.”

The student who couldn’t afford his $8 meal repaid it the next day.

Chef Jose Andrés was named one of the Top 100 most influential people in the world by TIME and you can see why.

So far he is not the only person offering her a job. She was offered her old job back with Café Services and many other people have stepped forward as well. She says, “they’re not doing it for me, they are doing it to save face.”

No word on if she has accepted his generous offer.

Mouseketeer Reunion Pre-Parade At Magic Kingdom

The Mouseketeer reunion pre-parade at Magic Kingdom yesterday kicked off their anniversary celebrations. Mouseketeers from all seven seasons joined together to celebrate in the park. The reunion is being held in honor of the 30th anniversary of “The ‘All New’ Mickey Mouse Club” debut episode. This is only the start of a weekend long celebration of the anniversary of the show (#MMC30). We were at Magic Kingdom firsthand to check out this reunion. One of the best parts of this parade was the energy of the Mouseketeers and fans alike! Of course it helped that the main man himself Mickey Mouse was with the Mouseketeers as well!

The Mouseketeer reunion pre-parade at Magic Kingdom was truly a homecoming of sorts. Disney’s MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios) was home for all seven seasons of the show. This show helped create many well known artists as well as award winning performances.

This parade is only part of the #MMC30 celebrations this weekend. The festivities will continue with other events including a 90s themed party. Epcot’s World ShowPlace will be home to this event hosted by Joey Fatone.

The craveable new Dole Whip inspired goodies join the D-lish line as the latest snack inspired goodies. The Dole Whip MagicBand has a yummy frosting pink background with sprinkles of Disney food icons. Of course the showcase is a large Dole Whip graphic is a delicious pineapple yellow!

The Dole Whip ears are so adorable you almost want to take a bite out of them! The designers did a great job of recreating the iconic Dole Whip swirl on the top of the hat, and even topped it off with a cute little drink umbrella. The ears are made to look like “carved wood”, and have Aloha on the right side. The hat itself even looks like a smooth scoop of ice cream. The bottom is trimmed in red, like the paper cups you can get your swirl in! Disney really did a good job with the details on this fun new Mickey ears hat.

Personalised t-shirts are now available in the Disney Village. Guests can now create their own t-shirts and other items at the Personalization Workshop”L’Atelier in the Disney Fashion shop in the Disney Village.

These visuals can be created on-site, onto t-shirts, sweatshirts and tote bags. New themes are added regularly including Aladdin, Mother’s Day and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. Price start from € 15 for personalisation alongside the chosen textile. What will you create?

Sleeping Beauty Castle is uncovered in Disneyland

Yesterday Disney removed the tarps from Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland and we got a first look at the freshly painted spires and castle.

Sleeping Beauty Castle has been closed since Jan and is expected to open again in a few weeks from a lengthy refurbishment.

The work being done is bringing Sleeping Beauty Castle back to life after the damage left by the 60th-anniversary celebration.

Even at night, the restoration looks amazing!

Series 5 of the Disney Wisdom Collection debuted today May 18th. This month’s collection will feature Pocahontas’ animal friends, Meeko and Flit with a quote from the very wise Grandmother Willow. The collection is available online at shopDisney, and at your Local Disney Store as well.

Former Disney Employee faces charges of Grand Theft for stealing $7000 worth of Haunted Mansion Costumes and More

A former Disney World employee is accused of stealing $7,000 worth of Haunted Mansion costumes, according to an Orange County arrest affidavit.

Patrick Spikes, 24, of Winter Garden has been charged with burglary, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property.

He entered a restricted area of Disney and stole over $7,000 in items then sold them online.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a tweet that they were able to make an arrest due to the tireless efforts of the Sector 6 detectives.

The arrest affidavit shows Patrick Spikes is accused of using his Disney employee ID to get into the Magic Kingdom on Jul. 31, 2018 and navigated the utilidor area of the Magic Kingdom and took Buzzy from the retired Cranium Command attraction which we reported as missing a few months ago.

Documents show that Spikes had photos on his phone of other Animatrontics that were stolen and a judge signed a search warrant for Spikes phone on Dec. 20, 2018. Some other stolen photographed items was merchandise taken from the Haunted Mansion as well.

Detectives reached out on April 26, 2019 to one of the people who purchased what they thought was legally obtained merchandise from Spikes as he stated he was given the items from Disney with permission.

New Cast Member Costumes for Coronado Springs Resort

New Disney cast member costumes have been revealed for the Coronado Springs Resort!

With the opening of Gran Destino Tower this July, Disney is offering a sneak peek at the new cast member costumes created to match the resort’s reimagined design.

The new uniforms were revealed at a special cast member fashion show at the Coronado Springs Resort. As you can see, the bright colors reflect the resort’s classic Spanish influences with magical Disney touches.

Josh Winchester, Costume Designer, worked with the Walt Disney Imagineering team and the Executive Architect, David Stofcik, to bring Grant Destino Tower to life in each outfit. Winchester took influence from Spanish artists to create an earthy color palette with bold patterns and textures.

These costumes are not only beautiful, but also functional! The timeless designs are customizable and there is even a “mix and match” collection for parts of the resort.

You will be seeing cast members sporting these new outfits when Disney’s Grand Destino Tower opens in July.

Running Universal Minion 5K Run at Universal Studios Hollywood

On your mark, get set… BANANA! We were on hand for the first ever Running Universal Minion 5K run at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The first ever running universal event in Universal Studios Hollywood was held last Saturday, May 11. We were invited to witness the run with the Minions on hand to cheer on the runners!

It was little after five in the morning when we got to see the runners waiting at the starting line. There was a lot of excitement in the air and you could tell how eager the runners were. The minions were there and kept the energy high.

At exactly 6, they were off. Some of the runners were dressed as minions and some were dressed as bananas keeping with the “Minion/Despicable Me” theme.

The race was a hit and all that were involved has an excellent time. This is the first of many events like this for Universal and we are hearing the next may even have a “Jurassic” vibe to it!
As the race completed we moved to the finish line to wait for the participants to cross the finish line. All of them looked like they had an amazing time and were rewarded with very cute medals to take home for their hard work. Snacks were also provided to them after the run to help re-build their energy.
