Chris Evans Raves about New Ad Campaign from Ryan Reynolds. With 5 words, Chris Evans, aka “America’s Ass”, shares his admiration for Ryan Reynolds’ ad game lately, by simply stating “This dude is killing it.”

Ryan Reynolds is more than just a funny guy. The actor and business man recently became the new minty fresh owner of Mint Mobile. Mint Mobile is a mobile service that offers several service agree’mints’ ranging from $15/month to $45/month, depending on the promotion being offered at the time. Ryan made a bold move, and unlike many other advertisers at the moment, decided to use the companies resources to better benefit its new customers. He took out a full page advertisement in the New York Times and shared his vision for new customers, without wasting the financial resources to show a 30 second- 1 minute commercial during Super Bowl LIV.

“On Sunday, some companies will spend over $5 million dollars to advertise in a game so expensive I can’t even mention its name lest we summon its army of lawyers,” Reynolds wrote in Mint Mobile’s NY Times ad. “As the new owner of Mint Mobile, that’s a HARD no. Mint offers premium wireless service for just $15 dollars a month, so we could literally give away over 300,000 months of free service and still save money. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Fellow Marvel Alumni, Chris Evans, himself is starring in at least one of these famed Super Bowl commercials. The commercial is named, “Smaht Pahk” and in the ad, various Boston based actors come together to showcase a new feature that allows cars to park themselves, including: Chris Evans, Rachel Dratch, John Krasinski, and Boston’s very own Papi. You can check out the new Hyundai commercial below:

That has not stopped Evans, however, from sharing his love for Reynolds’ advertising tactics on Twitter. Ryan reciprocated the sentiment by responding with, “Thank you, [America’s] Ass. Love, [Canada’s] Jackass.”

Ryan’s bold move is a brilliant take on how a company should be reaching out to new customers, and truly putting them first. Who’s wouldn’t be excited to get 3 months of free service?

Before you get too excited this was posted on the Disney World Annual Passholder page so this might be for AP’s only.

It is a lemon-scented Bavarian mouse filled with blueberry compote on top of a citrus almond cake.

Minnie’s Moonlit Madness At Disneyland Resort

Minnie’s Moonlit Madness is back!

This exclusive cast member activity has become an annual tradition for cast at the Disneyland Resort since 1989.

And is another way to provide memorable opportunities and activities for their cast members while helping the community as well.

The event took place on January 28th at Disney’s California Adventure where 150 Disney VoluntEARS helped hide 43 clues around the park for the participating teams to find!

Minnie’s Moonlit Madness is an after park hours event where cast members in teams of four are challenged with brain teasers, clues and trivia.

Each team also has to solve 50 trivia questions about park history and Disney films!

But that’s not all, each year cast members support a local non-profit organization and this time they partnered with Girls Inc. of Orange County that received a $5,000 check!

This organization help to inspire girls to be strong, smart and bold plus they have programs focusing on academic tutoring, advocacy, healthy body image and more.

Sounds like a super fun night for sure!

Footage from George Lucas’ Cancelled ‘Star Wars: Underworld’ TV Series Resurfaces Online. A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away, George Lucas and Lucasfilm had been developing a new Star Wars series called, Star Wars: Underworld, meant to premiere on television sometime in the late 2000’s-early 2010’s. The series was shelved due to high production costs that would be necessary at the time, but the test footage and behind the scenes footage reveal the project had gone further than previously believed.

The series had been fully developed, even garnishing 50 completed scripts according to Lucas in a 2011 interview, but presumably never got to the filming stage due to the high cost of the series. “Right now, it looks like the Star Wars features. But we have to figure out a way to make it at about a tenth of the cost of the features, because it’s television,” Lucas shared in a previous interview on G4’s Attack of the Show.

It was previously believed the series never even made it to the filming stage, but test footage shows even a rather impressive level of CGI animation had been developed for the series before it was scraped. You can view the test footage and “making of” Star Wars: Underworld clips below:

The test footage is giving fans a “under-budgeted prequels” vibe and seems to speak for itself on why the project never fully took off. The timing of this resurfaced footage does leave some questions though. Now that more cinematically styled streaming and television is becoming massively popular, could Star Wars: Underworld be revived? Possibly as a new Star Wars series for Disney+? It does seem like a waste to have put so much effort into a series only to never see anything come to fruition.

Only time will tell if Lucasfilm and Stargate Studios will see Star Wars: Underworld get the budgeting it would require, or if the project will remain on the dusty shelves of Lucasfilm. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Star Wars!

Ron Howard Reveals Timeline for ‘Willow’ Series Coming to Disney+

Ron Howard Reveals Timeline for ‘Willow’ Series Coming to Disney+. Recently, Director Ron Howard sat down with Collider and gave an update on the reboot series for Willow, coming to Disney’s new streaming service Disney+. Though Howard is unsure if he will be directing the series, he has been in constant contact with the series writer, Jon Kasdan, and gave fans some insight to how the series is forming and when the new stories will take place.

“We are developing Willow for Disney Plus,” Howard said. “And I don’t know about directing or not, but Jon Kasdan is writing, he’s very passionate about it, great job. We don’t have a green light yet, but if it goes, I’ll certainly want to roll up my sleeves and be a part of that, because that would be great, to revisit that world.”

Collider went on to ask if studios are more interested in a show runners take on how a new series or film should be presented or if they approach the production team with an idea and let them build from there. Howard responded with, “…in this world of these event series, they really do look to the showrunners and the key creatives to tell them their vision. It’s one of the reasons why TV has gotten so good, is that they really are looking at the showrunners as authors of something that they’re deeply passionate about. And Jon is deeply passionate about Willow, which tickles me to no end.”

Though Ron could not share TOO many details regarding the show he did confirm Warwick Davis will be reprising his role and subsequently the new story will be taking place “decades later”.

“Warwick Davis is going to be in it and so yes, I think it’s safe to say it’s decades later,” he said.

Many fans have been speculating that the series would take place after Elora Danan had grown up and would fulfill her prophecy by dethroning Queen Bavmorda, and it appears that there is a high possibility for this story to unfold in the new Disney+ series.

Esports Events Are Heading To Walt Disney World 2020

Something new is coming to ESPN Wideworld of Sports Complex in Summer 2020. The Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF) is bringing the excitement of esports to Walt Disney World. The 2020 Walt Disney World EGF High School National Championship will be a new milestone for Disney. It’s because this new high school championship marks the debut of esports events at Walt Disney World.

For those unfamiliar with esports, it’s a form of sport competition using video games. This summer’s championship will take place from June 12-14, 2020. The event will be held at The Arena at ESPN Wideworld of Sports Complex. The contestants will consist of students who qualified by winning in regional esports divisions.

The competition will be split among the three highly popular video games.

Gaming Divisions

Super Smash Bros. (16 Teams)
Overwatch (8 Teams)
Rocket League (8 Teams)

The idea of esports joining Disney World is exciting to spectactors and gamers alike. According to Tyler Schrodt, the founder and president of EGF, “This will be a powerful final destination for our league which will generate even more excitement among players and families as they strive to qualify.”

We will be following up with updates when the EGF High School Championship takes place at Walt Disney World. It’ll certainly be a fun summer competition!

Disneyland After Dark Nite Made for Sweethearts

After Hours events are gaining popularity around the Disney Parks. They are more exclusive, less of a crowd, limited wait times, and provide unique opportunities that are not always offered during regular operating hours. Disneyland has just rolled out with a few different themed After Dark nights, including an 80’s night. So fun! This latest one is just in time for Valentine’s day. It’s the Disneyland After Dark Sweethearts Nite. Special for all you love birds out there. It will be taking place on February 12th and 13th. So popular February 13th sold out already! There are still some tickets available for February 12th though. So don’t miss out.

Tickets to this event cost $109.00 plus tax. The event runs from 9 pm thru 1 am, giving you plenty of time to enjoy some of the unique offerings and entertainment for this exclusive event. You can enter the park as early as 6 pm, but 9 pm is when the park closes specifically for after dark ticketed guests only. This could be the perfect date night! Who can put a price on love?!

There is some great entertainment in store for the After Dark Sweetheart Nite. How about dancing the night away to some of the best love songs at a dance party. Or a moonlight cruise might interest you. Let nostalgia bring you back to the year 1955 as the Golden Horse Shoe is transformed into Walt and Lillian’s 30th-anniversary “Tempus Fugit Celebration”, just like the one they had just before Disneyland opened. Fun fact, you know Walt even took dance lessons to surprise his wife and dance with her at the party. How romantic is that!

If you also love to dance there will be a Royal Ball with some of your favorite Disney couples in attendance. Perhaps they can give you some pointers. Don’t miss out on the famous couples’ character encounters. None other than Minnie and Mickey will be meeting with guests. Some couples you don’t have the chance to see as much like Hercules and Meg, or Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen will also be greeting guests.

With all that dancing and rubbing elbows with royalty, you may become a little famished. Disneyland has a special spread in store for the Sweethearts Nite After Dark event. The Plaza Inn will be hosting a special Sweethearts Dining package, a prix fixe 3-course meal consisting of Cesar salad, breadsticks, spaghetti and meatballs, drink and a cannoli to sweeten things up. Is this giving anyone else a Lady and the Tramp vibe? I’m swooning already! I highly recommend a reservation for this. If sweets and treats are more your style, pucker up for this churro at the Tomorrow Land Cart or how about a Sweet-Cherry Nova Milkshake you can find over at the Galactic Grill.

There will also be some great photo opportunities special for this event to check out. The photos are included too as digital downloads. Take the memories home with you! The airport received praise for its customer satisfaction as being the best in the eyes of consumers. The Orlando International Airport’s retail stores and award-winning art collection were among reasons for its award-winning status.

Baymax Happy Ride, the very first attraction in the world based on Big Hero 6 will open in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland on April 15 as part of the largest park expansion since it opened.

The ride features Baymax who was created by Hiro in order to make guests feel happy and healthy! Once aboard the attraction our favorite robot will take you on an unpredictable adventure filled with up-tempo music and unexpected movements that will leave you with a big smile on your face.
