You can spot two new window displays for Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away on the Emporium’s Main Street, U.S.A. side. They’re located in the green window boxes flanking a matching green doorway. The display on the right highlights some of the new Disney Starlight parade merchandise.

This display features a background of swirling purple, accented with white stars. Above the merchandise, you’ll see an image of the Blue Fairy, who appears on the parade’s inaugural float. At the bottom of the middle window pane, a golden wordmark for the parade has been added, complete with matching gold filigree adorning the edges of the display.

This display showcases half-mannequins sporting the new Disney Starlight parade shirt, alongside stands featuring the new Minnie ear headband. On the outer edges, golden stands hold the Disney Starlight interactive light-up bubble wands, which were previously released during the parade’s soft opening on July 18.

To the left of the green door, you’ll find the second window display, which features Mickey Mouse in his Disney Starlight Parade attire. The central pane of this display also prominently features the parade’s golden wordmark.

Similar to the first display, this one also features interactive light-up bubble wands gracefully floating from golden swirls on both sides. Central to this second display is a large figure of Mickey Mouse, adorned in his new blue, galaxy-inspired costume specifically for the Disney Starlight Parade. He stands against a backdrop of dark blue and purple, sprinkled with shimmering starlight, and this display also includes an image of the Blue Fairy at the top.

Magic Kingdom’s Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe Sees Removal of Beloved Carriage

Guests visiting Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom recently noticed a significant change to the quaint exterior of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square: the absence of its familiar horse-drawn carriage. The beloved prop, a longstanding fixture that contributed to the festive ambiance of the year-round Christmas store, has quietly been removed, leaving many park-goers wondering about its fate.

missing carriage

For years, the charming carriage served as an unofficial landmark and a popular photo opportunity for guests strolling through Liberty Square. Its presence perfectly complemented the colonial-era theming of the area, bridging the historical feel of Liberty Square with the whimsical holiday spirit of the shop. While Disney has not yet made an official statement regarding the removal, its disappearance comes amidst a flurry of ongoing changes and construction projects across Magic Kingdom.

Recently, the park has seen major developments, particularly in the Frontierland and Liberty Square areas. The Rivers of America, including Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat, officially closed on July 7, 2025, to make way for a highly anticipated Cars-themed expansion and a future Disney Villains land. This extensive reimagining of a significant portion of the park involves considerable construction, including new walls and the lowering of water levels in the Rivers of America.

no carriage

While the carriage at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is not directly within the major construction zones of the Cars and Villains land expansion, its removal could be related to broader park aesthetic updates, refurbishment plans, or simply to accommodate operational needs during ongoing development. Disney frequently refreshes its park offerings and theming, and sometimes props are removed for repair, replacement, or to make way for new elements.

For now, the absence of the carriage remains a topic of conversation among guests. Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe itself, with its delightful aroma of pine and spices and its vast array of Disney-themed holiday ornaments, continues to be a popular destination for those seeking to celebrate the Christmas spirit any time of the year. Fans will be eager to see if the beloved carriage makes a return, or if its departure signals a subtle shift in the decor of Liberty Square.

Magic Kingdom is abuzz with excitement as the “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” parade makes its official debut on July 20. It’s important to note for eager snackers that while a stunning “Disney Starlight” themed popcorn bucket is available, the special Starlight popcorn mix is sold separately. The themed bucket, which costs $14.25 and comes with regular popcorn, can be found at various popcorn carts around Magic Kingdom. However, to get your hands on this new, vibrant mix, you’ll need to head exclusively to the Main Street Confectionery. The mix itself comes in a generic red popcorn container, but trust us, what’s inside is far from ordinary.

We first caught a glimpse of this sweet creation during the parade’s media merchandise preview, and we’ve finally had the chance to dive in and taste it! The Disney Starlight popcorn mix features a medley of flavors and textures: bubble gum and blue raspberry candy popcorn, scattered with classic M&M’s Milk Chocolate Candies, soft mini-marshmallows, and a generous white chocolate drizzle.

Upon first bite, the predominant flavor on the popcorn is unmistakably bubble gum, though notes of blue raspberry certainly come through. While the blue raspberry in particular had a somewhat artificial taste, it surprisingly worked well within the mix. It evoked a delightful sense of childhood nostalgia, reminiscent of those classic bubble gum and blue raspberry candies. The addition of the M&M’s provides a much-needed crunchy texture, expertly balancing the chewier, candied popcorn. And for those with a serious sweet tooth, the white chocolate drizzle adds yet another layer of sugary goodness, ensuring this is definitely not a savory snack.

starpopcorn

Overall, the Disney Starlight popcorn is a genuinely enjoyable and fun experience. It leans heavily into sweetness and has a distinct artificial candy flavor, delivering a powerful bubblegum-raspberry explosion. For those craving that kind of sugar rush, it hits all the right notes. Plus, the convenience of it coming in a container with a lid means you can easily carry it around the park and snack on it as you soak in the magic of the new “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” parade. Don’t miss out on this sweet sensation!

Fourth A-Frame Rises at Disney Lakeshore Lodge as Construction Progresses on New DVC Resort

Bay Lake is buzzing with activity again as construction continues on Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the next Disney Vacation Club resort rising from the former site of River Country. The latest update? A fourth A-frame structure has officially gone vertical, and more progress is visible across the entire site.

Positioned between the main lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, these A-frames are expected to house standalone cabin accommodations. Though Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a new name, the overall footprint and style appear to carry over much of the original design and layout planned for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, which was announced in 2018 but paused during the pandemic.

The resort’s multi-story main building is quickly taking shape. The first floor has been wrapped in structural sheathing, and other sections now sport the familiar yellow air-and-water barrier wrap. In areas where the barrier has been installed for some time, black weatherproof cladding is being added, signaling the next step in sealing the structure.

Other notable milestones include:

  • Temporary railings have been installed on some balconies, with permanent versions coming later.
  • Sliding glass doors are now framed or installed in several wings of the building.
  • Work has begun on the ninth floor, with the resort expected to top out at ten stories.
  • Interior framing is visible through open windows on multiple floors.

Disney has confirmed that Lakeshore Lodge will carry on the original artistic theme of Reflections — celebrating the beauty of nature and how it has inspired Disney storytelling. Think tranquil lakeside vibes, natural textures, and a color palette rooted in earth tones and forest greens — all infused with that signature DVC flair.

The resort is currently scheduled to open in 2027, and while the full list of amenities has yet to be revealed, Disney promises it will be an immersive, nature-inspired retreat — perfectly positioned between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge, rounding out what could become a full-blown rustic resort corridor on Bay Lake.

Grand Floridian Lobby Renovation Rolls On: Iconic Birdcage Removed & Walls Expand

Change is in the air — and not just from the scent of fresh flowers in the lobby. The ongoing transformation of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa lobby is in full swing, and the latest update marks a major milestone: the resort’s iconic birdcage structure has officially flown the coop.

Once a striking centerpiece of the elegant atrium, the Grand Floridian’s Victorian birdcage has now been fully dismantled as part of the sweeping refurbishment that’s reimagining the lobby from top to bottom. But fret not — this fan-favorite feature isn’t gone for good. Disney has confirmed the birdcage will return in a new home opposite the resort’s soon-to-debut lobby bar, which will pay homage to the structure with brass accents, vibrant stained glass, and intricate woodwork.

Also now hidden behind construction walls is the Garden View Lounge, once a serene retreat for afternoon tea and quiet conversation. It’s set to return with a fresh new look later this year. Meanwhile, the front desk area is completely closed off, with temporary check-in stations relocated near the lobby entrance. Guests are now being greeted by Cast Members equipped with iPads, creating a more mobile and “approachable” check-in experience, though opinions on the change are mixed across the Disney fandom.

Even restrooms near Cítricos on the second floor are currently closed, with signage directing guests to alternate facilities throughout the resort.

Despite all the changes and temporary closures, the Grand Floridian remains fully operational. Restaurants, lounges, pools, and shops are still open for guests, though guests should expect detours, construction noise during the day, and evolving pathways inside the main building as progress continues toward a planned November 2025 completion.

The vibrant artwork has taken over the spot previously held by the Magic Kingdom 50th anniversary poster and now greets guests entering through the left-hand tunnel under the train station. Nestled inside a gold ornate frame, the poster is a starry, storybook celebration of the characters and scenes featured in the all-new nighttime spectacular.

This enchanting design isn’t just pretty, it’s packed with Easter eggs for Disney fans! You’ll spot Cinderella dancing with Prince Charming beneath a sparkling fountain, Peter Pan and Wendy soaring above London, Moana sailing toward Te Fiti, Elsa summoning snowflakes, Miguel strumming his guitar with Pepita in tow, and even the Blue Fairy sprinkling magic over Cinderella Castle.

The poster art is identical to the promotional image Disney released ahead of the show, and it offers a dreamy preview of the floats you’ll see rolling down Main Street during the parade. Heat Advisory Once Again Issued for Central Florida, Including Disney World and Universal Orlando Resorts

A heat advisory has once again been issued for Central Florida, including Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. The heat index is expected to be around 110°F for Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Okeechobee, and Brevard Counties.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Melbourne, Florida, has issued a Heat Advisory effective from Noon EDT until 6 p.m. EDT on July 20, 2025.

Related – Test Track 3.0 to Soft Open to All Guests Before Official Reopening

n

“Feels like” temperatures, or heat index values, are projected to reach approximately 110°F. Such extreme heat combined with high humidity can lead to heat-related illnesses. The NWS strongly recommends that everyone take precautions:

  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.
  • Seek cool environments: Remain in air-conditioned rooms or out of direct sunlight whenever possible.
  • Dress appropriately: Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing if you must be outdoors.
  • Limit strenuous activity: Reduce outdoor exercise and other physically demanding tasks.
n

Guests at the theme parks should be particularly mindful of these recommendations, as prolonged exposure to these conditions can quickly become dangerous. My best advice would be to take advantage of the pools at all of the Disney World / Universal Resort Hotels, visiting a Water Park today instead of a Theme Park, getting an early start to the day and taking a break midday when it is the hottest, or waiting till around 3 or 4 pm and closing down the Theme Park.

Stay safe and stay cool!
