In gearing up for the grand debut of the Disney Starlight Parade, Magic Kingdom celebrated with some dazzling new window displays! Keep an eye out for the fantastic new displays that have been added to the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.

You can spot two new window displays for Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away on the Emporium’s Main Street, U.S.A. side. They’re located in the green window boxes flanking a matching green doorway. The display on the right highlights some of the new Disney Starlight parade merchandise.

This display features a background of swirling purple, accented with white stars. Above the merchandise, you’ll see an image of the Blue Fairy, who appears on the parade’s inaugural float. At the bottom of the middle window pane, a golden wordmark for the parade has been added, complete with matching gold filigree adorning the edges of the display.

This display showcases half-mannequins sporting the new Disney Starlight parade shirt, alongside stands featuring the new Minnie ear headband. On the outer edges, golden stands hold the Disney Starlight interactive light-up bubble wands, which were previously released during the parade’s soft opening on July 18.

To the left of the green door, you’ll find the second window display, which features Mickey Mouse in his Disney Starlight Parade attire. The central pane of this display also prominently features the parade’s golden wordmark.

Similar to the first display, this one also features interactive light-up bubble wands gracefully floating from golden swirls on both sides. Central to this second display is a large figure of Mickey Mouse, adorned in his new blue, galaxy-inspired costume specifically for the Disney Starlight Parade. He stands against a backdrop of dark blue and purple, sprinkled with shimmering starlight, and this display also includes an image of the Blue Fairy at the top.

Fourth A-Frame Rises at Disney Lakeshore Lodge as Construction Progresses on New DVC Resort

Bay Lake is buzzing with activity again as construction continues on Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the next Disney Vacation Club resort rising from the former site of River Country. The latest update? A fourth A-frame structure has officially gone vertical, and more progress is visible across the entire site.

Positioned between the main lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, these A-frames are expected to house standalone cabin accommodations. Though Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a new name, the overall footprint and style appear to carry over much of the original design and layout planned for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, which was announced in 2018 but paused during the pandemic.

The resort’s multi-story main building is quickly taking shape. The first floor has been wrapped in structural sheathing, and other sections now sport the familiar yellow air-and-water barrier wrap. In areas where the barrier has been installed for some time, black weatherproof cladding is being added, signaling the next step in sealing the structure.

Other notable milestones include:

Temporary railings have been installed on some balconies, with permanent versions coming later.
Sliding glass doors are now framed or installed in several wings of the building.
Work has begun on the ninth floor, with the resort expected to top out at ten stories.
Interior framing is visible through open windows on multiple floors.

Disney has confirmed that Lakeshore Lodge will carry on the original artistic theme of Reflections — celebrating the beauty of nature and how it has inspired Disney storytelling. Think tranquil lakeside vibes, natural textures, and a color palette rooted in earth tones and forest greens — all infused with that signature DVC flair.

The resort is currently scheduled to open in 2027, and while the full list of amenities has yet to be revealed, Disney promises it will be an immersive, nature-inspired retreat — perfectly positioned between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge, rounding out what could become a full-blown rustic resort corridor on Bay Lake.

Once a striking centerpiece of the elegant atrium, the Grand Floridian’s Victorian birdcage has now been fully dismantled as part of the sweeping refurbishment that’s reimagining the lobby from top to bottom. But fret not — this fan-favorite feature isn’t gone for good. Disney has confirmed the birdcage will return in a new home opposite the resort’s soon-to-debut lobby bar, which will pay homage to the structure with brass accents, vibrant stained glass, and intricate woodwork.

Even restrooms near Cítricos on the second floor are currently closed, with signage directing guests to alternate facilities throughout the resort.

Heat Advisory Once Again Issued for Central Florida, Including Disney World and Universal Orlando Resorts

A heat advisory has once again been issued for Central Florida, including Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. The heat index is expected to be around 110°F for Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Okeechobee, and Brevard Counties.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Melbourne, Florida, has issued a Heat Advisory effective from Noon EDT until 6 p.m. EDT on July 20, 2025.

“Feels like” temperatures, or heat index values, are projected to reach approximately 110°F. Such extreme heat combined with high humidity can lead to heat-related illnesses. The NWS strongly recommends that everyone take precautions:

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.
Seek cool environments: Remain in air-conditioned rooms or out of direct sunlight whenever possible.
Dress appropriately: Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing if you must be outdoors.
Limit strenuous activity: Reduce outdoor exercise and other physically demanding tasks.

Guests at the theme parks should be particularly mindful of these recommendations, as prolonged exposure to these conditions can quickly become dangerous. My best advice would be to take advantage of the pools at all of the Disney World / Universal Resort Hotels, visiting a Water Park today instead of a Theme Park, getting an early start to the day and taking a break midday when it is the hottest, or waiting till around 3 or 4 pm and closing down the Theme Park.
