Disney Cruise Line has shared new details about the Cask & Cannon bar and a first look at exclusive pirates merchandise that will be available on the new Disney Destiny. These announcements were made during Destination D23, offering a peek into the ship’s intricate “Heroes & Villains” theme.
The Cask & Cannon bar is a pirate-themed tavern designed to immerse guests in a world of treasures and tales. The space is decorated to evoke the interior of a pirate ship, complete with wooden planks, mismatched furniture, and antiques. Throughout the venue, guests will find nautical motifs and pirate iconography, from treasure maps and fishing nets to rum bottles and skull-and-crossbones insignias.
There are numerous nods to the classic Pirates of the Caribbean attractions and films, including intricate carvings on the portholes that resemble a charred wood look from the attractionโs burning village scene. The bar front is made of stacked treasure chests, drawing inspiration from the treasure rooms in the films. The venue also features a set of thirteen drawers filled with treasure maps, each representing a different global Disney park and attraction.
One of the most notable design elements is a fantastical treasure map of the Caribbean Sea, inspired by original artwork from legendary Disney artist Marc Davis, which is specially featured on the ceiling. This map has been modified to include seven pirate ships, representing the number of ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet with the Disney Destiny joining as the seventh. On the floor below, the carpet design features each of the pirate lordsโ Pieces of Eight as well as Captain Jack Sparrowโs compass.

New Disney Cruise Ship Leaves Shipyard for Final Testing in the North Sea
The new Disney Adventure cruise ship has departed the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany and is now undergoing its sea trials. This marks a critical step in the ship’s construction, as it enters the final phase of testing before its official delivery to Disney Cruise Line.
The ship, which had its first float out in April, will conduct its trials in the Baltic and North Seas. During this period, it will reportedly make a stop at the German port of Bremerhaven and a technical visit to the island of Rรผgen for further outfitting and assessments.
Following the completion of these sea trials, the Disney Adventure is scheduled to be delivered to Disney Cruise Line in late September. It is set to embark on its highly anticipated maiden voyage from Singapore on December 15, 2025.

In a recent announcement, Disney confirmed that several ofย Restaurantosaurus’sย menu items will be moving toย Harambe Marketย in early 2026. To prepare for the new additions,ย Harambe Marketย will temporarily close for refurbishment this winter, though specific dates for the closure and reopening have not yet been released.
February 1, 2026, will be the final day to seeย Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Daleย in their iconicย DinoLandcostumes. The characters, who have become a fan-favorite part of the area, will be relocated to a new section ofย Disney’s Animal Kingdomย starting on February 2. More details about their new home are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Wilderness Explorers Station Relocates After Boneyard Closure at Animal Kingdom
The Boneyard may have gone extinct, but the Wilderness Explorers are still on the trail. Following the permanent closure of The Boneyard on September 1, the DinoLand U.S.A. Wilderness Explorers station at Disneyโs Animal Kingdom has officially moved to a new spot.
Previously located inside The Boneyard play area, the kiosk is now set up near the exit of DINOSAUR, the last remaining attraction in DinoLand. Guests can still complete their Fossil Badge and Dinosaur Badge activities, which remain unchanged, even though the land itself is slowly disappearing behind construction walls and rolling hedges.
The new station features shade, benches, and even themed props like crates marked as field samples from the Dino Institute. Wilderness Explorers in training can still dig into the science of fossils and dinos, keeping the educational fun alive until the land fully transitions into its next chapter.
Disney has confirmed that DinoLand will close entirely in February 2026, with both DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus set to shutter for good. When Tropical Americas debuts in 2027, itโs likely the badges will be replaced with new ones themed to the upcoming land. Until then, families can still roar with excitement as they earn their Dino-themed achievements one last time.

Itโs official, Dino-Diggers: The Boneyard has gone extinct at Disneyโs Animal Kingdom. A brand-new guidemap for the park has been released, and the long-running play area in DinoLand U.S.A. has been completely removed from the parkโs offerings.
The updated map, now available to guests, reflects the recent closure of The Boneyard. Where colorful slides and rope bridges once entertained budding paleontologists, the area is now simply covered with trees on the paper layout. The only remaining attractions in DinoLand U.S.A. are DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus, signaling just how close this land is to extinction.
The mapโs cover features a new animal spotlight: the goats that were added to Kilimanjaro Safaris back in 2020. Inside, the โAlive with Magicโ section highlights experiences across the park like Rafikiโs Planet Watch, animal trails, Wilderness Explorers, and live shows. Disney even slipped in a pointed reminder that this year is the last to experience DinoLand U.S.A. โbefore it goes extinct.โ
