Aquatica, boasting more waterslides than any other waterpark in Orlando, offers something fun for everyone with high-speed adventures that get hearts racing, kid-friendly water play areas, a vibrant selection of dining experiences, and white-sand beaches offering the perfect spot to relax. Modified with enhanced health and safety protocols, each park experience includes increased cleaning and sanitation, temperature checks, face covering requirements, and limited capacity.

“We are thrilled to introduce Riptide Race, an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Florida. Aquatica is the first waterpark in the state to have a dueling racer and we know our guests are going to love the fun of challenging their friends and family in a race to the finish,” said Kyle Miller, Park President. “Riptide Race is the perfect addition to our attraction portfolio, complementing what is already one of the most family-friendly waterslide lineups in Orlando. Health and safety continue to be a top priority for our parks, and we can’t wait to see our guests enjoy this new ride.”

Riptide Race, The World’s Tallest Dueling Racer, Launches On April 3rd!

About Riptide Race:

Riptide Race is the world’s tallest dueling racer waterslide. Starting atop a 68-foot tower, riders grab a two-person raft before racing along the 650-foot slide—with low walls, so they can keep an eye on their opponents. It’s a dash to the splash as guests compete in this side-by-side raft run through high-speed tunnels, twists, and turns. Riptide Race features a height requirement of 42 inches to appeal to families with children.

Also New: Ke-Re’s Bar and Papa’s Cantina!

Guests are invited to refuel between races at two NEW dining experiences at Aquatica.

Step out after a thrilling ride on Riptide Race and unwind at Ke-Re’s Bar, a brand-new dining experience for 2021 (with physical distancing measures). Guests can relax on island time at this open-air bar. Soak in the sun, enjoy unbeatable views of the park, or catch a game on the flat screen. Refreshing, handcrafted cocktails include:

  • Pineapple Plunge: Malibu Coconut Rum and Pineapple with a twist of Amaretto and Butterscotch
  • Orlando Vice: A flavorful fusion of two island classics—Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri
  • Ke-Re’s Riptide Margarita: Milagro Tequila, mixed with lemonade and the perfect balance of cranberry, strawberry, and lime

Guests can also discover bold new flavors at Papa’s Cantina, opening soon at Aquatica Orlando. With a menu fit for a Riptide Race champion, Papa’s Cantina offers guests a vibrant, one-of-a-kind dining experience with limited capacity. New and exclusive to Aquatica Orlando, the menu features crave-able bites and fresh flights, including:

  • Boneless Wings seasoned, and hand-tossed to perfection in Papa’s signature sauces. Take the heat, zest it up, or amplify the flavor with Papa’s Secret Sauce.
  • Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Refreshers, featuring Barrilitos Aguas Frescas. Come try refreshing flavors like Watermelon, Strawberry Hibiscus and Mango Lime.
  • Papa’s Special, the ultimate combination of flavor with 4 empanadas, 12 boneless wings, and your choice of 3 signature dipping sauces.

Best Way to Play:

Be among the first to ride Riptide Race with an Annual Pass. Right now, guests can save up to 20% on Annual Passes starting at low as $11 per month (offer ends March 28).

Safety:

Aquatica Orlando is committed to the health and safety of our guests, employees, and the animals in our care. The park has worked diligently with state and local health experts, outside consultants and attraction industry leaders to enhance our already strict health, safety, and cleanliness standards. These protocols and guidelines will be modified based on evolving industry standards and methodologies, public health, and governmental directives, and advancing scientific knowledge on the transmissibility of COVID-19.

Facial Recognition Technology Test
Closer Look at the Facial Recognition Test happening now in the Magic Kingdom

Our writer Nikki was at the Magic Kingdom today and walked us through the Facial Recognition Test happening now in the Magic Kingdom.

Here is more information in case you missed the news yesterday:

At Walt Disney World Resort, we’re always looking for innovative and convenient ways to improve our Guests’ experience—especially as we navigate the impact of COVID-19.

With the future in mind and the shift in focus to more touchless experiences, we’re conducting a limited 30-day test using facial recognition technology (length of test subject to change).

The technology we’re testing captures an image of a Guest’s face and converts it into a unique number, which is then associated with the form of admission being used for park entry.

Participation in this test is optional. For those interested in volunteering to participate in this effort, please make sure you arrive with valid theme park admission and a Disney Park Pass reservation.

Note: children under the age of 18 who wish to participate may do so with consent and in the presence of a parent or guardian.

Signs are placed AFTER the security screening directing those to the area for those wishing to participate. Please note this is strictly voluntary.

What to Expect

Step 1: Enter the Facial Recognition Technology Test Lane

When you’re ready to enter the park, simply enter the lane designated for the test program.

Step 2: Remove Accessories, But Keep Your Face Covering in Place

Please take off any hats, visors or sunglasses before you approach the facial recognition test zone. Your face covering must remain on at all times.

Step 3: Face the Camera

Once in the facial recognition test zone, stand facing the camera and then position your valid park admission or MagicBand close to the scanner to activate the technology. The technology will capture an image, which will be converted into a unique number that will be associated with your valid ticket media.

You’re All Set!

If you return to Magic Kingdom park during our limited-time test, consider entering using the same designated entry points. Re-entering through the same lanes helps us better understand how the technology works.

  • Images and the associated unique numbers captured for this technology test will be discarded within 30 days after the test concludes. We will not share the images and unique numbers captured for this test with third parties.
  • Participation in this test is optional and limited. Guests who have valid theme park admission and a Disney Park Pass reservation may use another line for park entry.

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

Have you ever been on a trip to Universal Orlando? If you’re planning a trip we shared the Top 10 Best Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants according to Yelp. Sometimes though theme park food just doesn’t cut, today we are sharing the worst. Now, this is all about Yelp reviews, maybe some restaurants you like are on this list. Let us know after if you agree or disagree with those who commented on Yelp.

1. Cafe 4

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

Cafe 4 is located in Islands of Adventure and is themed after Fantastic 4. It serves Italian fast food, pizza, spaghetti, salad. While not the best pizza ever it is really large and one piece is large enough to be two.

2. Comic strip cafe

The Comic Strip Cafe is also located in Islands of Adventure. They serve a weird mix of burgers, pizza, and one Asian dish.

3. Captain America Diner

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

Ok so I actually like the next restaurant on the list. The Captain America Cafe is in Marvel Superhero Islands. Also in Islands of Adventure (I’m starting to see a trend). It serves up burgers, chicken, and milkshakes. I actually liked their chicken fingers and they have a huge salad.

4. Circus McGurcus

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

The big top of Circus McGurcus. Chow down on crowd-pleasing favorites like fried chicken, spaghetti, pizza, cheeseburgers, and chicken Caesar salad, all while surrounded by colorful caricatures straight from the imagination of Morris McGurk. It’s basic theme park food but really busy inside. A lot is happening including the High in the Sky Seuss Trolly going in and out.

5. Green Eggs and Ham Cafe

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

Green Eggs and Ham serves up some delicious tots and even has cans of Who Hash. It’s located in Seuss Landing. I think this is a great option to eat, they have large portions and the Brisket Philly Tots and Buffalo Chicken Tots are really yummy.

6. Universal Studios Classic Monsters Cafe

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

The first restaurant not at Islands of Adventure! The Classic Monsters Cafe is fun themed quick-service dining location. As is the indoor decor, featuring themed dining areas like Dracula’s castle, the swamp, and the flying saucer, plus an array of monster movie memorabilia. The menu has rotisserie chicken, pizza, brisket, salad and ribs. It’s another one I’d give a try.

7. Krusty burger

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

This Simpsons-themed quick service is located in Universal Studios. It’s actually a cafeteria style quick service. They sells Krusty Burgers and other themed food items. I heard the burger was pretty good but it may get pretty busy in there.

8. Mel’s Drive-In

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

Mel’s Drive-In is a 50’s style quick service restaurant. This is one I’m not surprised made the list. It’s usually pretty busy and seems expensive for fast food.

9. Today Cafe

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

The Today Cafe is located inside of Universal Studios and is supposed to make you feel like you’re on the Today Show. It has coffee, baked goods, and some healthy options if you’re looking for some. The prices may be what landed this on the Yelp worst list. It is a tad pricey.

10. Moe’s Tavern

Top 10 Worst Universal Orlando Resort Restaurants According to Yelp

Another Simpsons Land restaurant. At Moe’s you can order the famous Flaming Moe. It’s definitely fun for fans of the show. They serve non-alcoholic drinks as well so all ages are actually welcome. It has the pub feel to it.

So there the Top 10 Worst Universal restaurants according to Yelp. Some of these I agree with but there are a couple as I pointed out I did enjoy. It’s all personal preference. Do you agree with this list? Let us know below.
