It is officially a new era at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Following the permanent closure of DinoLand U.S.A. on February 1, 2026, Disney has wasted no time scrubbing the prehistoric land from its navigational tools.

As of this morning, February 2, 2026, a brand-new paper guide map is being distributed to guests at the park entrance. In the space where DINOSAUR and Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama once stood, the map now shows a lush green space with a bold new label: “Future Home of Tropical Americas.”

Digital Maps Updated Simultaneously

The change isn’t just limited to the paper versions. Disney has also updated its digital maps across the board. The interactive map found on the official Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app now reflects the same transition. All DinoLand attractions, shops, and dining locations—including Restaurantosaurus and The Boneyard—have been removed from the digital interface to match the current state of the park.

What the New Maps Reveal

While the “Tropical Americas” label acts as a placeholder for now, the map clarifies the new boundaries of the park during this massive construction phase.

Theater of the Wild: Interestingly, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! is still listed on the map, but it is now categorized as being in the “Theater of the Wild” area rather than DinoLand U.S.A.
Coming Soon: The 11-acre expansion, set to open in 2027, will eventually feature a brand-new Encanto attraction and a rethemed Indiana Jones adventure inside the former DINOSAUR show building.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, investment firm BDT & MSD Partners LLC is close to finalizing a deal to acquire the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, along with a sister Four Seasons property in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The combined deal is said to top $1 billion, with the Orlando resort alone valued at roughly $750 million.

The two properties are currently owned by Host, which purchased the Orlando Four Seasons in 2021 for $610 million and the Jackson Hole resort for $315 million. BDT & MSD Partners is no stranger to high-end hospitality investments, having acquired other Four Seasons properties in the past, making this potential purchase more of a strategic luxury shuffle than a surprise move.

What remains unclear is whether the Four Seasons Private Residences at Golden Oak would be included in the sale. Disney announced an expansion of the Four Seasons neighborhood in 2024, located within Golden Oak’s Florian Park. That project includes nine boutique homes and 31 luxury residences in a mid-rise tower, with starting prices north of $5 million. For now, there’s no confirmation on how those ultra-exclusive homes factor into the deal, but the resort itself appears to be the main focus.

In the latest photos and video, what appear to be concrete footers can be seen on site, indicating that the project has moved past simple ground preparation and into early structural work. The pad itself is modest in size and clearly delineated, suggesting a specific planned addition rather than a large-scale land expansion. Surrounding pathways and landscaping remain intact, reinforcing that this work is focused on a contained build within Celestial Park rather than a broader reconfiguration of the area.

Construction in the future Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is officially moving from dirt piles to discernible destinations, and new aerial photos from @bioreconstruct give us our clearest look yet at what’s coming.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of these latest photos is just how fast the Encanto show building itself is rising. In just a few weeks, steel framing has expanded deeper into the construction site, and the rear portion of the building has already moved beyond framing into what appears to be preliminary flooring or roofing. That kind of progress suggests this attraction is firmly in the vertical build phase, and it’s starting to dominate this side of the former DinoLand U.S.A. area in the best possible way.

Over on the Tropical Americas carousel, there’s been plenty of movement as well. The wooden framing that previously peeked out has now been covered, and excavation is underway where the carousel itself will eventually sit. The site is clearly being prepped for installation, marking another major step forward for the land.

Between Casa Madrigal taking shape, the Encanto show building surging ahead, and the carousel site coming together, Tropical Americas is quickly transforming from concept art into a living, breathing land that will soon bring Encanto, Indiana Jones, and Pueblo Esperanza to life at Animal Kingdom.

The official FlyMCO Instagram account shared a playful farewell video on February 1 as the beloved attraction wrapped up its final day at Walt Disney World.

In the clip, a toy Time Rover races through Orlando International Airport, mimicking Dr. Grant Seeker’s iconic narration while dodging airport sights instead of Carnotaurus claws. From spotting a definitely not our dino T Rex skull display to fueling up at Starbucks and getting sniff-attacked by an MCO Paw Pilot dog in Mickey ears, the video is a love letter to park fans who grew up bouncing through the dark.
