Disney’s Animal Kingdom Digital & Paper Map Replaces DinoLand by Tropical Americas

Disney's Animal Kingdom Digital & Paper Map Replaces DinoLand by Tropical Americas

New Animal Kingdom Maps Replace DinoLand U.S.A. with Tropical Americas

It is officially a new era at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Following the permanent closure of DinoLand U.S.A. on February 1, 2026, Disney has wasted no time scrubbing the prehistoric land from its navigational tools.

As of this morning, February 2, 2026, a brand-new paper guide map is being distributed to guests at the park entrance. In the space where DINOSAUR and Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama once stood, the map now shows a lush green space with a bold new label: “Future Home of Tropical Americas.”

Digital Maps Updated Simultaneously

The change isn’t just limited to the paper versions. Disney has also updated its digital maps across the board. The interactive map found on the official Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app now reflects the same transition. All DinoLand attractions, shops, and dining locations—including Restaurantosaurus and The Boneyard—have been removed from the digital interface to match the current state of the park.

What the New Maps Reveal

While the “Tropical Americas” label acts as a placeholder for now, the map clarifies the new boundaries of the park during this massive construction phase.

  • Theater of the Wild: Interestingly, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! is still listed on the map, but it is now categorized as being in the “Theater of the Wild” area rather than DinoLand U.S.A.
  • Coming Soon: The 11-acre expansion, set to open in 2027, will eventually feature a brand-new Encanto attraction and a rethemed Indiana Jones adventure inside the former DINOSAUR show building.

With the signage currently being removed from the park entrance and the maps officially updated, the transformation of the “Tropical Americas” is officially in high gear.

20th Century Studios has officially dropped the first trailer, character posters, and production stills for the sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2. Nearly two decades after the original 2006 phenomenon defined a generation of fashion and film, the elite world of Runway Magazine is officially back in style.

The biggest news of all? The fashion world’s most formidable foursome is reuniting on the screen. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci all return to the sleek offices of New York City as Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel.

To keep the magic authentic, the sequel also reunites the original powerhouse creative team, including director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna. We even have some familiar faces returning in supporting roles, with Tracie Thoms reprising her role as “Lily” and Tibor Feldman back as “Irv.”

While we’re here for the nostalgia, the sequel is introducing an all-new “runway” of characters to shake things up at Runway. The star-studded new cast includes:

  • Kenneth Branagh
  • Simone Ashley
  • Justin Theroux
  • Lucy Liu
  • Patrick Brammall
  • Pauline Chalamet
  • B.J. Novak

Produced by Wendy Finerman, this fashionable follow-up is set to be the cinematic event of the spring. You won’t have to wait much longer to see if Andy is still wearing the Chanel boots—The Devil Wears Prada 2 debuts exclusively in theaters on May 1.

Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World May Be Changing Hands in Billion-Dollar Deal

The luxury bubble at Walt Disney World might be getting a new owner. According to a new report from Bloomberg, investment firm BDT & MSD Partners LLC is close to finalizing a deal to acquire the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, along with a sister Four Seasons property in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The combined deal is said to top $1 billion, with the Orlando resort alone valued at roughly $750 million.

The two properties are currently owned by Host, which purchased the Orlando Four Seasons in 2021 for $610 million and the Jackson Hole resort for $315 million. BDT & MSD Partners is no stranger to high-end hospitality investments, having acquired other Four Seasons properties in the past, making this potential purchase more of a strategic luxury shuffle than a surprise move.

What remains unclear is whether the Four Seasons Private Residences at Golden Oak would be included in the sale. Disney announced an expansion of the Four Seasons neighborhood in 2024, located within Golden Oak’s Florian Park. That project includes nine boutique homes and 31 luxury residences in a mid-rise tower, with starting prices north of $5 million. For now, there’s no confirmation on how those ultra-exclusive homes factor into the deal, but the resort itself appears to be the main focus.

If finalized, this acquisition would mark another major financial move tied to premium accommodations at Walt Disney World, reinforcing just how valuable on-property luxury real estate has become. Guests likely won’t notice any immediate changes, but behind the scenes, this could signal a new chapter for one of Disney World’s most upscale stays.

New Expansion Pad Takes Shape in Celestial Park at Epic Universe

New aerial footage from @bioreconstruct offers a quick but telling look at ongoing construction inside Celestial Park at Universal Epic Universe. The update focuses on a single expansion pad located directly across from Atlantic, where visible progress has been made since the last flyover. The area has now been fully cleared and graded, giving the site a clean, defined footprint within the park’s central hub.

In the latest photos and video, what appear to be concrete footers can be seen on site, indicating that the project has moved past simple ground preparation and into early structural work. The pad itself is modest in size and clearly delineated, suggesting a specific planned addition rather than a large-scale land expansion. Surrounding pathways and landscaping remain intact, reinforcing that this work is focused on a contained build within Celestial Park rather than a broader reconfiguration of the area.

While Universal has not announced what this space will ultimately become, the prevailing view is that it is likely intended for a future private event or flexible-use area, which would align with Celestial Park’s role as the park’s central gathering space. Its location make it perfect for getting guests in and out via the nearby roadways, while also providing direct access to the park.

Encanto Attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Starts to Take Shape as Tropical Americas Construction Accelerates

Construction in the future Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is officially moving from dirt piles to discernible destinations, and new aerial photos from @bioreconstruct give us our clearest look yet at what’s coming.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of these latest photos is just how fast the Encanto show building itself is rising. In just a few weeks, steel framing has expanded deeper into the construction site, and the rear portion of the building has already moved beyond framing into what appears to be preliminary flooring or roofing. That kind of progress suggests this attraction is firmly in the vertical build phase, and it’s starting to dominate this side of the former DinoLand U.S.A. area in the best possible way.

Over on the Tropical Americas carousel, there’s been plenty of movement as well. The wooden framing that previously peeked out has now been covered, and excavation is underway where the carousel itself will eventually sit. The site is clearly being prepped for installation, marking another major step forward for the land.

Orlando International Airport Shares a Dino-Sized Farewell to DINOSAUR as the Ride Goes Extinct

Just when you thought the last roar had echoed through DinoLand U.S.A., Orlando International Airport decided to give DINOSAUR one final sprint through time. The official FlyMCO Instagram account shared a playful farewell video on February 1 as the beloved attraction wrapped up its final day at Walt Disney World.

In the clip, a toy Time Rover races through Orlando International Airport, mimicking Dr. Grant Seeker’s iconic narration while dodging airport sights instead of Carnotaurus claws. From spotting a definitely not our dino T Rex skull display to fueling up at Starbucks and getting sniff-attacked by an MCO Paw Pilot dog in Mickey ears, the video is a love letter to park fans who grew up bouncing through the dark. The Time Rover even hops aboard the Terminal Link before rolling onto a jet bridge just in time, proving that even extinction can be adorable when done Disney style.

The timing was no accident. DINOSAUR officially closed at the end of February 1 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, clearing the way for the Tropical Americas transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. The new land will include Pueblo Esperanza, an Encanto themed attraction, a carousel, and a brand new Indiana Jones adventure inspired by a Mayan temple and a mysterious creature rumored to lurk within.

Kermit was in high spirits during his sit-down with Kimmel, reflecting on his long and storied career. The frog shared anecdotes about his legendary days guest-hosting for Johnny Carson and his more recent “high-life” moments, like vacationing on Magic Johnson’s yacht.

The interview also touched on his current Hollywood connections, with Kermit mentioning a backstage run-in with Kaley Cuoco and what it’s like working with executive producer Seth Rogen. When Kimmel asked what Kermit would be doing if he hadn’t made it in show business, the frog mused about a quiet life back in the swamp—though he admitted that having his own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame remains a “big honor” he wouldn’t trade for anything.

  • The Return: While this debut is officially a single special, industry buzz suggests it could serve as a backdoor pilot for a full series revival.

When the park first opened its gates on February 8, 2001, it transformed a former parking lot into a world of “golden possibility.” Twenty-five years later, as the park has evolved into a powerhouse of storytelling—from the high-octane thrills of Cars Land to the heroic encounters at Avengers Campus—Mickey and Minnie are leading the festivities with a stylish tribute to where it all began.

Starting February 6, the iconic duo will greet guests on Buena Vista Street in looks designed specifically for this silver anniversary. These aren’t just any party clothes; they are an intentional “love letter” to the park’s opening-day aesthetic. Fans of Disney history will notice several key design elements:

  • Sun Motifs: The outfits heavily feature the iconic sun imagery that defined the park’s original entrance and the “Sunshine Plaza” era.
  • Vibrant Palette: The colors lean into the warm, saturated tones of a California sunset, reflecting the energy and optimism of the early 2000s.
  • A “Golden” Nod: The use of gold accents throughout the design symbolizes the “Golden State” and the bright future of the park.

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Muppets Transformation Picks Up Speed With New Disney Imagineering Permit Filings

The countdown is officially on, and things are getting electric over on Sunset Boulevard. Walt Disney Imagineering has filed three brand new permits tied to the transformation of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster into Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, signaling that the re-theme is shifting into high gear. With the attraction set to close permanently as its Aerosmith version on March 2, 2026, these filings suggest Disney is wasting no time getting the Muppet madness installed.

The Notices of Commencement list Elite A/V System Inc and Solotech for electrical work, both companies known for large scale audio, video, lighting, and show control systems used in themed attractions. That strongly hints at major updates to the ride’s show elements, possibly including new screens, lighting effects, audio cues, and pre-show enhancements featuring Kermit, Miss Piggy, Dr. Teeth, and the rest of the crew. A third permit assigned to Sign Producers Inc calls specifically for signage installation, which could mean new exterior branding, updated queue visuals, or in-ride signage tied directly to the Muppets storyline.

Timing wise, this all lines up perfectly with Disney’s tight turnaround. That gives Imagineering just a few months to overhaul one of the park’s most intense thrill rides, making every permit filing feel like another green light toward opening day. While Disney has not shared full story details yet, these permits confirm that the transformation is well beyond the concept phase and firmly into execution.
